2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom And Kitchenette Triplex With River View In Historic Center

This little triplex is situated on the 3rd floor (without elevator), in a new, fully refurbished traditional building. It consists of one double bedroom ( real bed 140x200 ) with bathroom with shower on a first level, kitchenette with dining area, sofa bed (90x200) and half bathroom on a second level, and double bedroom (real bed 140x200) in the attic. It has a beautiful terrace on the rooftop, overlooking river Tejo and Alfama historic neighbourhood. Towels and linen are provided.

Free wifi, cot, and free public parking in vicinity

Guests have full access and their private entrance. Hosts don't live in the property, but they are available for any help or advice that is needed.

About The Owner

We are a couple in late thirties, and we have seven year old son André and a mutt dog called Masha. I am originally from Belgrade, Serbia, and my husband Rui is from Lisbon, Portugal. Both of us are professionals in areas that don't have much in common with tourism: he runs a small construction company and I used to work for many years as a theatre and tv producer in Belgrade. We started renting one apartment in the oldest district of Lisbon - Alfama, and it turns out that we really enjoy doing it. Lisbon is so called "city break" town, and many tourists stay inhere only for a few days. The result was meeting new people from all over the world, sharing stories from here and there, learning and having fun.

When I came to live inhere, I used to walk a lot, discovering Lisbon and it's hidden sides. Today, I adore sharing these secrets and giving tips that our guests can't find easily in tourist guides. However, the key isn't only in our hands, but in Alfama itself: cobblestone streets and alleys, old buildings and in a way of life which gives you an impression that you are in the medieval village, but yet, in the middle of the town.

Other than this, we are a couple like many others: we adore travelling, good music, cinema and theatre, watching our favourite tv series.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2014

Why The Owner chose Alfama

We bought this old building 2014, which was abandoned for many years. It was in terrible shape, so basically, we had to demolish everything except the facade ( which was refurbished as well), and made a new building from the scratch. It was finished in November 2016. We've managed to keep some elements from the previous one ( like doors, etc), so it is new refurbished building, made in traditional Portuguese style.

What makes this apartment unique

Our building is easily accessed from the main streets and airport/train station/metro, despite being situated in Alfama, which is mainly pedestrian. It is very close to city center ( less than 15 min walking), has free public parking in vicinity ( about 3-5 min walking) and many good restaurants, bars and cafes around it. All important sightseeing spots and points of interest are walking distance. You can enjoy Flea market twice per week, and there is one really nice park overlooking river Tejo, near National Pantheon.

Beaitiful, modern, very clean, convienient to everything, quiet and lots of character!

We stayed six nights in this lovely apartment. It is a few minutes from metro Santa Apolonia and trains. It is located in the tiny pedestrian street which makes apartment very quiet, but very close to major landmarks and walking distance to Plaza of Commerce and other central locations. Everything in the apartment is nice and perfectly suitable for staying. Bedrooms are good size , beds are very comfortable, kitchen has lots of dishes and even some tea and so on. Special thanks to the manager Ema, who was so nice and communications were very easy. It is was a great find for us to stay in Lisbon in this perfect place and it made our vacation even better. Thank you, Ema.

Logement typique du quartier avec une pièce par étage en partant du dernier étage de l'immeuble. Tout confort rien à redire. Clim disponible. Hotspot wifi proposé gratuitement. Intéressant lorsque la connexion data est difficile ce qui est souvent le cas. La propriétaire nous avait réservé un taxi au départ très tôt le matin

Owner's Response: Hello Stephane, thank you for being our guests and leaving everything tidy. It happens that mobile networks and data are not working 100%, depending on where you stand in the apartment, because of thick walls in Alfama, and neighborhood structure itself (high buildings, hills, narrow streets, etc), but that is normal everwhere in historic neighborhoods in Lisbon (that's why everyone makes phone calls while standing near the window :). However, we hope you had a good stay and wish you all the best in future.

Situation exceptionnelle !

L'appartement est situé idéalement dans l'Alfama et ses rues typiques. Il est joliment décoré et d'une propreté exemplaire. Les contacts avec la propriétaire, Ema, sont chaleureux. Celle-ci fait tout pour vous faciliter la vie tout au long de votre séjour. Bref, l'endroit idéal pour séjourner à Lisbonne, si toutefois, les marches, dans et en dehors de l'immeuble, ne vous font pas peur... Mais c'est le prix à payer pour être dans l'Alfama !
