Beautiful home, clean and bright.
Home was in tip top shape, pool area well stocked and great central location. Hope to return in near future..
Fabulous time !
We had a great 8 day stay at this beautiful home . Everything was well equipped and the weather was perfect ! Our daughter enjoyed the pool immensely . Thanks so much for sharing your home !
Very nice rental house.
This is our second time staying here and we were happy both times. The neighborhood is quiet & the house was very clean. Kids loved the pool as well.
This is a very comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood.
The house is nicely decorated and has comfortable furniture. There is a very nice lanai and pool. The house is well kept and clean. When a few maintenance issues came up, the owner responded quickly and had them fixed without delay.
Nice house as advertised
My family of five (three adult children) stayed here for the week between Christmas and New Years Day. The house was clean and suited our needs nicely. There were some minor things that you would expect from a rental property (the garage door opener didn't work, for example) but I never felt the need to contact the owner. The supplied beach towels were a bit old and getting threadbare but useable. There were no beach chairs which was disappointing. The pool is very nice and we did bump the water temperature up to make it a little more comfortable at this time of year. The weather was outstanding, we hit it lucky with record highs and lots of sun.
If you've never stayed on Marco Island be advised that there is limited public beach access. The nearest public beach from this house is at the Resident's Beach area which is a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute bike ride (we rented bikes). There is no public parking near here so don't plan on taking the car. The best option to drive to is the South Beach public access which has a parking lot (that fills up quickly) and all day parking is $8.00. It's reachable by bike but too far to walk. My advice is to avoid Tigertail Beach as it's a shallow tidal basin although most people who go there walk across the basin to get to the "real" beach.
If you want easy beach access that is close and walkable you should probably choose a beach front condo. This is not to say that we didn't enjoy this house...which we did. You'll need a car as everything including the nearest Publix or other shopping is a bit too far without one. There is a nice public park that is easily walkable if you have small children and want this as an option. Overall if you desire a house rental I would recommend this one but just be prepared for the logistics as pointed out in this review
As an owner, I really appreciate feedback as I strive to make each stay a wonderful experience for everyone. When a tenant calls with an issue I am happy to get it fixed ASAP (That way the current tenant is happy and the next tenant does not have to deal with it).
As far as getting around on Marco. The island is small and there are numerous public access points that are near. I believe the privacy at a house vs a condo is a personal preference. I for one, love privacy and enjoy having my own pool and house. I can relax and be with my family and not bothered with noises from other people and their children. There are at least three public beach access points and two of them are closer than the south beach access. Tigertail beach is a great beach with parking. It is great for shelling and walking but not for swimming. Many people love the seclusion of this area. My daughter and I walk this beach almost every morning searching for sand dollars or other shells.
We usually advise bike rentals as this is fun, healthy and easy. It allows you access to the beach and shopping (groceries, etc). The bike rental place will also rent beach chairs and beach umbrellas. We used to provide new chairs but they would be ruined or lost by the middle of the season so we stopped providing these. I used to provide bikes but there was too much liability associated with the bikes so we elected to make people aware of rentals.
I think Marco Island is great and condos have a place for visitors too. But for my money I would like a tranquil and private setting with a pool that I can heat up or cool down to my liking and not share with anyone but my loved ones.
We had a lovely time on Marco Island. The house is in a great location, close to Mackle Park, shopping, and the beach. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool area and covered porch area. We could sit in the shade when it was sunny and also when there was a bit of rain.
We had a few issues upon arrival to the house (i.e. broken sliding door handle, slats from the blinds that had fallen, garbage disposal making a funny noise) but these were very quickly taken care of by the owners. The owners were very quick to respond to any of our questions and to our needs and were very pleasant to work with. The house furnishings are basic, serviceable and met our needs. We liked the layout of the house - the open central area worked very well for our range of family members (2 year old to grandparents). We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this area.
