About Kimberly Bolos

I grew up in a small neighboring town just outside Niagara Falls and left the area to attend and eventually graduate from SUNY Geneseo. I relocated to Dallas, TX for a career opportunity but have returned to the area every summer to take in its beauty and many local attractions. Now married with small children of my own, our family sought out and purchased this vacation property. While we reside in Dallas, local relatives manage this property.

Kimberly Bolos purchased this house in 2012

Why Kimberly Bolos chose Greater Niagara

We sought out this property because of its personal history with my family. It is the same property I would walk past with my dad on our way from the ice cream shop out to the end of the pier. We would wonder what it would be like to own and live in such a beautiful house with such a beautiful view. Western New York and this particular region hold so much natural beauty and provide so many affordable healthy activities that my husband and I want our children to share in these experiences. We share this home with you as a special place to vacation, reconnect with family and create special memories year after year.

What makes this house unique

The location is perfect! Coming from Dallas, TX it is wonderful to enter a relaxing small town atmosphere yet still have access to several activities, attractions, restaurants and shops as you would in a city. It is located across the street from a bustling boathouse, quaint upscale restaurant, and several small shops. Need some fresh vegetables? Drive down the road and stop at one of the many roadside stands whose farmers still accept payment by the honor system. We appreciate this home's proximity to Canada as well as the neighboring U.S. cities such as Lockport, Lewiston, Niagara Falls & Buffalo (quick access to Canada can be made via the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge).

Beautiful Home with Scenic Lake View

  • 5 of 5

We had a convenient and comfortable stay at this home. This home has got all the amenities that a family would require to spend their stay happily. We were very amused to see the way this house was maintained, furnished and arranged. Kudos to the family for such a planned theme and organizing things in a very decent and attractive fashion. You name it you get it in this house. Surprised to see kids toys collections. Simply Wow!!!

My kids liked this house as much as they didn't wanted to leave the place.

Sincerely recommend to all families going there to pick this house. Convenient distance from state falls park, local stores, calm and pleasant neighborhood.

Lake house with awesome views and great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband needed to be in Buffalo and I came along to see Niagara Falls. I knew this house was a little farther from Buffalo and the falls than other houses I had looked at, but it was on the lake!! I was wondering if it was too far as I drove out, but the minute I saw the water, I knew I had booked the right house! Niagara was about a 15 minute drive, and every minute in the house felt like a vacation! I enjoyed coffee watching the boats go in and out from the close pier and a few nights the boat house restaurant ( which is almost across the street) had live music, which we enjoyed from our front porch!! It is also a great place to eat. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Awesome vacation home @ lake Ontario

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great time at this vacation home. We planned our vacation to see Niagara Falls and couple of other attractions and this house was very close to all of them. House was neat and clean. The sunset and sunrise view of the lake was amazing. We were five adults and two kids and place was more than enough for all of us. We had a great time here. Owner response was very quick.

Beautiful property on the Lake Ontario shore

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this property for our vacation "back home". We are originally form Western NY and now reside in Florida.

I grew up on Lake Ontario and was so excited to return.

The front yard overlooks Wilson Harbor and the property is one house away from the Wilson Pier- Be sure to walk out to the end of the Wilson Pier for gorgeous sunsets!

All amenities are available as documented by the owner. - I would recommend to the owner to purchase a new toaster as the one in the house is not in the best working order. - A tiny, minor fix. All other appliances are new and are in wonderful working order.

The house is much larger than it appears in the photos. There is a lovely gas fireplace - Not that we needed it in the 87 - 90 degree days, but good for the cooler weather renter to know. The central AC worked very well. There is a full sized washer and dryer - very convenient.

There are ample towels and linens and kitchen supplies. As well as paper supplies.

This owner very thoughtfully has provided numerous books, magazines and travel/activity pamphlets for information and ideas.

There are board games, puzzles, books and DVD's also. YOU WILL NEVER BE BORED!

The internet is lightening fast!

The only disappointment to me was that the deck overlooking the lake is no longer there, even though there is a still photo showing it in the listing.

A word of caution; the steps to the water may be difficult to maneuver for those unsteady on their feet. At the bottom of the stairs there are rocks which are slippery at the water entry. There is no beach access to the water.

The patio has a nice table with umbrella and ample chairs.

Many activities are near by in Buffalo, Niagara Falls, the beautiful Niagara escarpment with wineries and fruit and vegetable stands, outdoor concerts and festivals.

**Foodies!- If you are not from the area - be sure to take a trip to Wegmans Grocery store in Niagara Falls or Amherst. Allow yourself ample time to bask in the wonderfulness.

Nearby restaurant recommendations: The Wilson Boathouse ($$$) Woodcock Brewery - Wood fired Pizza and Burgers ($$)

There is live music at the The Wilson Boathouse and also at the Sunset Grill.

There is a small local market nearby in the village of Wilson.

We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this property. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lakefront home Kim! I hope that we can return soon.

Owner's Response: Thank you Paddy for the kind review and feedback. A new toaster oven, which will toast 4-6 slices of bread, has been placed in the home. We have also trimmed the vegetation on the stairway to the water as well as the trees at the bottom platform to help accessibility. We met with a contractor today, 8/1/16, to add some larger flat stones in the water to serve as additional steps. Thanks again!

Quiet, Relaxing Week on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

We spent the last week of June at the house after my son graduated high school the last Saturday of June. We had two - four person families. The weather was perfect with sensational views and awesome sunsets from the Wilson Pier with the Toronto skyline in the distance across the lake. During the week, Wilson is a very quaint and quiet harbor community. If you are looking for a relaxing place to go, this house is it. If you are looking for a lot of activities (ie especially for children), the Wilson area may not be the best choice. However, you can be in Niagara Falls, NY, USA or Niagara Falls, OT, CA within 30 minutes (ie HINT: DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORTS). There are plenty of activities over there. We were told by local folks that on the weekends, the Wilson area comes alive during the summer months with music and other things to do. My brother-in-law chartered a deep lake fishing trip for the day and they caught 7 - salmon and 1 - lake trout. They had an especially good time reeling in a 28 pound salmon for 45 minutes. We would like to also thank Captain Hank of Blade Runner Fishing Charters

In the evenings, we enjoyed grilling and sitting by the campfire at the fire pit looking out over the lake.

If we can suggest a couple of options for the owners to help with keeping the teen age kids a little more active is to invest in a couple of kayaks, bicycles and fishing poles as it seemed very difficult to rent these in the Wilson area. These would be a couple of quick inexpensive additions to only make the property more appealing. The house is stocked with multiple board games and Taboo - Loved it, as well as DVDs.

We want to sincerely thank the owners for allowing us to stay at the house. There is a very good chance will will be back in 2 years when my daughter graduates high school!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind review. There are now 4 bikes newly added to the home. We have also added ping pong by purchasing a table top tennis set to convert our dining room table into a ping pong table. Also, 2 sets of frisbee golf discs have been purchased for the course next door. Last but not least I am also updating the binder with great nearby adventure activities to include rock climbing at River-works or in the Falls, the Niagara Adventure Park ropes course, as well as the new zip-line attraction at the Falls. Thanks again!

Very charming house and location

  • 5 of 5

We just spent Memorial Day at the house with 3 generations from our family, ages 6 to 70. Everyone loved the house and the location. The house was clean, and felt more spacious than shown in the pictures. The deck hasn't been rebuilt, but the patio and yard are lovely and we didn't feel like we were lacking anything. The patio is nestled in such a way that we had privacy from the neighbors. There are also stairs that you can use to go down to the lake. The Wilson Boat House across the street was an easy dinner spot, and the location was close to Old Fort Niagara and close enough to Niagara Falls (easy to access, but away from the bustle). Would recommend this house to anyone!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind response. We've added a new grill and rearranged the patio to allow for more outdoor living. As well as purchased new yard chairs to enjoy the view at the water's edge. Thanks again for choosing our home!

Western NY is full of fun activities and attractions for all ages! Niagara Falls, US and Niagara Falls, Canada are a must see. There are also several wineries & vineyard tours, farms, state parks, local festivals, and carnivals & outdoor concerts held regularly nearby and in town. This summer our family enjoyed: outdoor concerts, Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum w/several restored kid rides, Olcott Beach Carrousel Park w/several restored kid rides, Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, walks/run along the lake shore, Splash Park in Krull County Park, Youngstown Firemen's Field Day (carnival, concerts, food!), campfires, and eating at our favorite eateries such as Viola's Submarines on Military Road in Niagara Falls after a day of shopping at the well known Niagara Factory Outlet Mall...and the list goes on!! Perhaps next summer we will charter a boat to do some Salmon fishing? The possibilities are endless!
