About Monroe Mann
Hello! I'm the one sitting on top of the humvee in Iraq in 2005. My name is Monroe Mann, and my mom asked me to help her manage the property rentals of the house I grew up in, and of course, I said yes! My parents bought this home in 1977, the year I was born. I spent almost every summer I can remember up here, and then my mom and little sister moved up here full-time in the 90s. I adore this house so much, because it truly is a home filled with wonderful memories. I know that you and your family will create many wonderful memories here too!
Monroe Mann purchased this Cottage in 1977
Why Monroe Mann chose Lovell
My mom had the choice to purchase virtually any home at Severance because 1977 was about the time when all the homes went up for sale as private residences. My mom narrowed it down to "Windemere Lodge", or the island home across the way "Everbreeze". While she loved them both, she chose this one for one primary reason: the pipes wouldn't freeze in the winter (whereas on the island, all the pipes freeze around November/December). We are all glad she chose this one: I wouldn't trade my memories in this lake house for anything!
What makes this Cottage unique
1) Best view hands-down on the entire lake 2) Most charming and authentic cottage you will find at Severance Lodge 3) A super fun loft and ladder that is fun for kids of all ages 4) Easy access to the beaches, tennis courts, and docks 5) Easy walking distance to the clubhouse dining room

Perfect Family Location and Wonderful Property
We knew we wanted to find a property on Kezar Lake to enjoy some family time together with our two grown children. We love Kezar Lake area but felt so lucky to have found this property. The owner, Monroe, was incredibly responsive and worked with me to make sure we had everything we wanted/needed for a fantastic week at his property. The adorable house is a classic Maine camp type house with every needed amenity all on one floor. The two very large suite bedrooms (comfortable beds) on either side of the house each have a nice, clean bathroom. The loft over the kitchen is perfect for a couple people. For us it worked ideal to have the 2 separate bedroom spaces for privacy but connected with the living room, kitchen and dining space. We actually spent every meal on the front porch which has a nice set of adirondack chairs and dining table and chairs and wonderful view of the lake and mountains across. Again, a large space across the whole front of the house. Plenty of room for everyone. It's also important to note that this is a private community experience with shared docks, tennis court, beach/water access, etc. There's a classic club house that has community cocktails and dinner nightly as well as Sunday brunch that you are welcome to if that appeals. We brought a large daysailer and were welcome to use the dock for mooring and easy on/off the whole time. Monroe provided a kayak for us which we enjoyed tremendously. We swam, sailed, rode our bikes, played tennis, hiked the whites, and generally did everything we wanted in the area and on the lake. I can't say enough how wonderful Monroe was and how peaceful and easy staying at his house and in this community was. A great memory for us!
