You will be mesmerized by the view but you will love the comfort that this home has to offer. Completely remodeled and updated. Open concept kitchen, living and dining areas all with panoramic vistas of the bay. Walk out onto the deck and enjoy the grill or venture down the steps to the lower deck just a few feet above the bay. Once back in the home there is a full bathroom on the main floor with a bedroom across the hall equipped with a queen bed. ( great for those who would like to avoid climbing stairs). On the second floor there are two large bedrooms running front to back of the home. Another full bath between the two bedrooms and a half bath in the master. Both bedrooms on the second floor have walking closets. Nice quiet street with little to no traffic, great for a morning walk, simply enhance the peaceful surroundings.
Natives of Massachusetts now living in New Hampshire - both of us have spent many happy hours in Maine. We are true New Englanders and both have many fond early childhood memories of visiting Maine with our families and then to later in life enjoying it together and with our children. Maine has so much to offer we never tire of it.
Joanie Anderson purchased this house in 2011
We have loved this part of Maine for years and while up here camping ( in Camden) we were out driving and just by chance fell upon this place. Suffice to say it was love and first sight and we couldn't wait to be the new owners.
The view was the catalyst in the decision to purchase this home but we believe it was destined to be as well. The previous owner's name was the same as ours and we have a home in Northport FL. - what are the odds, you can't ignore karma.
This review should have been submitted after our family vacation in July 2015; sorry for the lateness!
Simply put, if I could live anywhere in Maine, it would be Baybreeze! Our family travels extensively, and I can honestly say this was the most perfect location and home we have ever found. The home was spacious and clean, the most important concerns for our family. There were a few minor issues, but the owners were very quick to respond and they resolved the problems as best they could.
The home was comfortable, had everything we needed and the view...of course, the view. Simply heaven!!! There was kayaking, fishing, swimming (chilly) and just staring at the magnificence of the bay all right outside the door.
Staying in the town of Belfast was another plus, everything was so convenient, shops, restaurants, movie theatre, yet it still managed to have that small town New England feel.
I hope my family and I have the opportunity to stay here again someday very soon.
Baybreeze had everything the five of us hoped for. Quiet, secluded location on the bay but close to the great food and excitement of the mid-coast towns. A very well maintained property. It did not disappoint.
Loved the view of the bay from the deck and living room with it's wall of windows. The owners were wonderfully helpful. Easy access to Downeast and mid-coast towns and harbors. Belfast was an unexpected delight.
We had a wonderful time. The description and the pictures advertised matched perfectly. Very peaceful location with plenty of activities nearby. We look forward to returning again.
This house is accurately represented in the photos and more! The location is absolutely stunning with spectacular views over Penobscot Bay. There are two decks with the upper one shaded for most of the day which is good when its hot. The beach is stony and reached by steps- with another lower deck further down. We swam in front of the house- its particularly good at high tide. Although there is also a small beach a mile away at Bayside which is also good for swimming. There is so much to do and see nearby- Belfast, Camden and many state parks. However, you could just as easily sit on the deck all day and watch the sea its so lovely.
The house is very comfortable, clean and well-maintained. The upstairs bedrooms are particularly nice, with TV's and walk-in wardrobes. The master bedroom has its own toilet and sink.
Joanie answered any questions before and during our stay very promptly. Also gave us info about places to visit beforehand.
I would unreservedly recommend this property and would love to visit again.
We enjoyed two wonderful weeks at Baybreeze. The pictures on the website accurately represent the establishment. It was fun watching the tides come in and go out, whether from the house or either decks. A nice surprise was no “foul” smell at low tide! This was our first time living on a bay area, so we did not know what to expect. Another nice surprise was there are no close neighbors on either side of Baybreeze. Even though it is not included in the write-up, there is a washer/dryer available in the house.
If you are thinking about inviting friends to join you at Baybreeze, then the layout of Baybreeze is ideal. Our friends used the downstairs facilities and we had the privacy of the upstairs.
Baybreeze is conveniently located to attractions from Boothbay to Arcadia. If you are into gardens, don’t miss Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothbay or Thuya and Asticou Azalea Gardens in Northeast Harbor near the National Park. The State Parks in the area are gems, Camden Hills (hiking) and Lake St. George (canoeing) to mention two. A variety of good restaurants from Rockland to Belfast offer many good meals when you do not feel like cooking. You are on vacation!
During our two week stay, we only had 2 days of damp weather – museum days – Farnsworth Art (Rockland) and Owls Head Transportation (Owls Head.) On the other day, we visited the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport.
We recommend you consider staying at Baybreeze if you are looking for an opportunity to enjoy bay life.
So much to offer in Mid-Coast Maine. Minutes to downtown Belfast with all the trendy shops, boutiques and niche vendors. Fantastic artisans to both visit and purchase treasures from. Great restaurants from upscale to dine on the dock with the freshest seafood you have ever had. Just a quick trip around the corner and you are in Bayside - a nostalgic area of Northport that offers a beach and dock for swimming and a marina full of sailboats. There is a small 'common' where various activities take place over the summer months. A short drive down to Camden offers additional shopping, galleries and restaurants. Great specialty cuisine at some of our favorite spots. Camden/Youngstown area also offers a winery for your enjoyment. Campden Hills State Park offers miles of trails that can take you to some of the most scenic vistas in all of Maine. If you don't want to hike it you can drive up Mt. Battie and look down into the harbor to see where the 'mountains meet the sea'. Truly breathtaking. Antiquing galore in the area both north and south. If you want to venture a bit farther to the south - a day in nearby Rockland and Owl's head will offer you lighthouse's and some great shopping and eats downtown. Within just over an hour north you can find yourself in Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park. This is a recommended trip for all. Make sure you get to the top of Mt. Cadillac to enjoy the 360 degree view from there. You will be most impressed. There is a small botanical park in Southeast Harbor called Asticou gardens that is well worth searching out for the gardening enthusiast. If you would prefer some lake activity you can find that either in Camden on Lake Megunticook or you can head out of Belfast to the China Lakes region. So many great adventures to be had.
