Stayed at the home of the Ritch’s this year while visiting Grand Cayman. The experience was wonderful. Close to restaurants, shopping areas and beaches.
The home itself was indeed very comfortable and inviting. The porch and back garden were my favorites especially in the early morning.
Would recommend it highly for a great vacation destination.
If I could give this house 10 stars I would! The house was everything listed and more! It was crazy to our group of 8 how from room to room you can't hear anything going on in the rest of the house. The media room was a great place to have or game nights and relax in the super comfy recliners after a day in the sun. The bedrooms are huge! The kitchen has everything you could need and more! 5 minutes is all it takes to be relaxing on beautiful West Bay beach. We loved the location on the beach because it was almost like your own private beach. I think at the most we would see 10 other people on this stretch of beach. A 5 minute walk from the house also brings you to Alfresco's restaurant. We had our favorite meal on the island here. Even with a car we chose to walk to the grocery store and liquor store because it was literally right across the street. I cannot say enough about Nikki! She was absolutely wonderful! She was always available if we had questions and has warm presence that you felt like you were talking with an old friend. She even brought us some over the top delicious jerk chicken straight out of her mothers kitchen. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had a fabulous time. We are so sad to be home but we will be back again!
This house was everything it said it was. We had a group of 10 and this house was perfect for all of us. Kids(teenagers) were up stairs and adults downstairs. It was within walking distance to the beautiful 7 mile beach, which was not as crowed as the other places on 7 mile beach, sunsets were amazing. The grocery store and liquor store was within walking distance, as well as many local venues to eat. We ate at Al La Kabab(food truck) several times which was delicious, Heritage Kitchen was within walking distance and was fabulous as well. We took the public bus every where and had a very nice local bus driver that took us to the airport on return. Overall, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the house and the vacation. It was fabulous. We will be back. Nikki was a wonderful host, and the pictures of the house match everything perfectly.
The property had black mold in kitchen under kitchen sink as well as in the downstairs bathroom. The icemaker only made ice when it wanted to. There is a hole in the livingroom ceiling. Due to a problem in the upstairs bathroom caused by previous guests, my guests (all women by the way) were told to take quick showers as to not cause the leak to begin again. The cushions on the loungechairs in the yard were torn and filthy. There was a small hole in the master bathroom. The worst part is the television in the media room did not work and we were told by Nicole that a part was being delivered and would repaired during our stay. It never happened. All eleven of us were forced to gather in the livingroom to watch the only television in the house located in the livingroom which wasn't easy because there wasn't seating for all of us. A few of the mattresses were quite lumpy and uncomfortable. The linens were also getting on in years. When I discussed these details with Nicole, she advised that if I had reported these items within 48 hours, she could have taken care of them. You cannot take care of black mold within 48 hours. We took her at her word that the television part was being delivered and the tv would be repaired. Nicole is a very nice property owner but she has a lot to learn about upkeeping a property.
Nicole. As usual your Home and Hospitality has left Kim and I with memories that will always be cherished! Staying there during Pirates week was so fun! We are back in Minnesota but miss you and the beautiful warm weather of the Caymans! One of the best memories was eating Lionfish at Alfrescos!!! AWESOME!!!! Everyone should try it! I wish I could have brought back some Caybrew! LOL...Anyway we are looking forward to seeing you again next year!!!! Peace be with you Nicole and your family.
Dan and Kim. ;)
So late in writing this review. We stayed at The Ritch in August 2015. There were 6 adults, 4 teen agers (15-17), and two kids under 7. Was a bit apprehensive about not having enough space for all of us, but to our delight, the house was very spacious and the media room was a hit. As far as convenience, the beach is across the street, there's a wonderful local restaurant nearby, and the teen-agers loved the late night run to Subway next door and walking to the grocery store for snacks. The house is immaculate with all the modern conveniences. Nicole was such a delightful host and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this beautiful home.
The Ritch residence is exactly as described on the website and in the pictures. All reviews are accurate. Our family of 13 (7 adults and 6 children) stayed almost a week and the house was spacious enough and comfortable for everyone. It is indeed in a convenient location close to a grocery store, small local restaurants, and the beach! We rented cars to explore the island freely and went on several excursions ( stingrays- starfish-swimming with dolphins, turtles - and snorkeling). I can't say we will be back because we want to visit other Carribbean islands, but if we had to come back to Grand Cayman, we'd probably book there again! Nikki, our host, was very helpful and always available if we needed anything. Thanks for everything, Nikki!!
