About Paola

My name is Paola and I have been living here in Venice since 1983, when I arrived from Rome to reach my mother, Filippa, who had moved because of her job. Here I attended high school and college, graduating in History of Art. I was immediately fallen in love with Venice and so I decided to live here even after the end of my studies. that's why I am still here and I'm always confident and happy with my choice!

Why Paola chose Venice city center

The apartment belonged to my mother who bought it in 2005 because it was a few steps from the house where I live today with my husband Renato. I am very attached to this apartment and the San Marco area where I spent the years of my youth happy and carefree. Despite the inevitable and continuous transformations, the area of San Marco with its beautiful square, its museums and its ancient monuments preserves the infinite charm of a unique city.

What makes this apartment unique

The strengths of the apartment are to be found in the center position, the layout of the rooms (the 3 bedrooms are not neighbors in order to guarantee a good privacy to all guests) and size (126 square feet), making it ideal for a large family or a group of friends. From the windows of the kitchen and the master bedroom you can stop to observe the slow passage of gondolas on the canal of San Moisé.

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely apartment in Venice.

The apartment was just as advertised, clean, well appointed and close to Piazza St. Marco, but on a quiet side street. We particularly appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, which had a beautiful view of a canal complete with gondoliers. It was also nice to have the use of the clothes washer and dryer, but would have liked to have some instructions in English.

The only negative was that we found the beds were uncomfortable, but we were so tired from sightseeing that we were able to get some sleep.

We recommend this apartment and would rent it again if we returned to Venice.

Excellent property in super condition with the best location.

Cannot fault this lovely,spacious apartment in Venice 2 minutes from St Marks Square and in the centre of everything. It is also in a very quiet situation.Nothing to disturb us as we slept.It is on a gondola route and we loved to sit in the kitchen by the open window and listen to the singing gondoliers - while sipping a glass of wine.Restaurants, shops and supermarket quite close by. This apartment is very spacious with everything ,and more, that you need for a stay in this beautiful city. We were most impressed with the owner, Paola , who made sure we had the best introduction to the apartment and to Venice. We arrived very late and she organised a taxi for us as well as meeting us personally at the water taxi stop - which is just outside the apartment.Brilliant! We loved our time here and if anyone needs a recommendation - look no further. We had no problem with wi-fi connection at all - which was mentioned by another review. A visit to Paola's husband's restaurant should also be included in your trip.Excellent location, friendly waiters, good food which was well priced too. I would definitely return to this apartment and to Venice.

Spacious flat with great location

We enjoyed our stay at this flat overall, mostly due to the location. Having the canal right in back was the best part since we found it relaxing and entertaining to watch the action on the canal. The internet rarely worked while we were there which was a problem for us since we really needed it and it was one of our key filters when choosing a place to rent. Paola said it would be fixed so it may be working now. Some of us in our group of 7 didn't find the beds to be comfortable, but the flat was spacious enough for our group. If renting this flat, use nearby landmarks as your guide on google maps, not the street name. We used the street name and were lost for over an hour. After that we learned to use "osteria" and that got us close enough that we could find our way from there. The flat is lovely and was very clean, I only rated it 3 stars due to the lack of working internet and the beds not being comfortable for several of us.

This was my best experience so far on Home Away. Paola was kindness itself and was so helpful. She arranged a water taxi for 5 am so my daughter and her fiancé could catch a 715 am flight. Gorgeous apartment in great area.

Very Pleased

Our stay in Venice was wonderful and the apartment added positively to our experience. The apartment is in a perfect location...2 minutes walk from San Marco square and right on a canal for direct access by water taxi. Seconds outside the door you will find places that sell sandwiches, drinks, pizza, etc. The supermarket is close by as well as many restaurants. Besides the location, the apartment is clean, comfortable, secure, quiet and adequately sized for 7 to 8 people. It is well maintained and has wonderful wood beams that reminds you that you are in a place that's full of history.

Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to meet Paola but she was very helpful and informative in her communications with us.

We will not hesitate to stay at this apartment again on any future trips to Venice. We highly recommending it.....you will not be disappointed.
