Truckee House Rental Photos and Description

Family Friendly 3br 2ba. Walk To Restaurants. Close To Ski Resorts

Looking for something clean, modern, updated, and new? This is the mountain retreat for you! All furnishings hand selected by a talented professional interior designer to create a cozy, contemporary, inviting family friendly home. Imagine: new bedding, new sofa, new chairs, new paint, new towels, new... You get the idea. The kitchen has silestone counters and craftsmaid cabinets. The house is light and airy thanks to all the natural light from a large window and multiple sky eye solar tube.

What makes the home family friendly? It is stocked with games, books, toys, sleds. There are special brightly colored plastic dishes, cups, spoons, and bowls for the little guys. There is a kids room with double bunk beds, a pack 'n play, and a booster seat with high chair tray. The large flat front yard is great for snow play. Let's not forget the 60' flat panel TV, xbox 360, and wifi. The kitchen is well stocked with everything from an ice cream maker to a panini press.

Why is it hotly located? You can walk to restaurants, including a brewery and a winery. It is less than 10 minutes from Northstar at Tahoe, downtown Truckee, the new recreational center, the local regional park, ice skating, the river walk. It is less than 15 minutes to Lake Tahoe. All the North Shore ski resorts like Squaw, Alpine Meadows, and Kirkwood are close by too.

What is the house like? There is a master bedroom that will have a king bed. Attached to the master is a private bath with a shower and a heated tile floor. Across the hall from the master is the kids bedroom with double bunk beds. Just down the hall is a bathroom with a tub/shower and a third bedroom with a queen bed. There is a large doorway between the family room with the kitchen, providing a feeling of connectedness while still offering enough separation that the kids can hang out in one area and the adults can have some privacy in the other space. There is also a large, private deck off the family room, extending your living space into the outdoors. The kitchen will have a cozy built in L bench seat and regular chairs. It has large windows that overlook the front deck and yard. The house has an attached two car garage. No fighting with scraping all the snow off your car in the morning. The driveway is flat, so even on a snowy winter day you can easily get in and out of the home.

What about the outdoor space? The front yard is large and flat and wrapped with a white picket fence. There is a large deck in both the front and back of the house. The back yard is private. There are mature birch trees and evergreens.

About Susan

About us? We are an active outdoor family who love skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

Susan purchased this house in 2012

Why Susan chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

Our family of four loves to play in Tahoe. After years of driving back and forth every week, we decided to purchase a home in Tahoe and make it family friendly to create a comfortable retreat for building precious family memories. When looking for a house, we first selected this neighborhood because of its fabulous location. Then we patiently waited for a house to come on the market. Very few homes in this area come up for sale. I can see why.

What makes this house unique

When we saw this house, it was love at first sight. The floor plan was perfect for us. The way the living spaces extend into the front and back porches was exactly what we wanted. It doesn't get more picture perfect than a white picket fence with tall trees. The previous owner had put a lot of special touches into the house from closet built ins to heated floor tile in the master bath to sliding shelves in the kitchen cabinets to extra cute sink faucets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Well, let me just say that your house is adorable and we loved every minute of it! Honestly, it felt so warm and inviting. Thank you so much for letting us stay. We hope to return in the summer and I'll be looking to book again.

average rating of 5.0 based on 32 reviews

As Advertised, family friendly home had as feeling comfortable and cozy.

The house was comfortable and clean. Loved being able to bike ride into downtown Truckee, through the beautiful park. The "Rock" shopping plaza was walking distance, and featured a great little winery that we enjoyed. The shower had great pressure, and was super relaxing, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen (and expresso machine) were very useful. I'd go again.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

The house was well laid out, single story with large master and a good sized deck in the backyard.

Everything was clean. There was plenty of room for the six of us in the kitchen and dining area

The walk down to Fifty/fifty and the winery was convenient and downtown Truckee and the river walk are close by.

Susan was friendly and helpful.

Thank you for the wonderful weekend

Truckee charmer

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed at Susan's Truckee home many times because both of our children live in the area. The house is comfortable and well equipped. It works perfectly for two but would also be great for two couples or a family with small children...our grandchildren love the bunk room. The location is convenient - walking distance to several restaurants and a charming winery, only a short drive to town and a large regional park. Susan is a pleasure to work with and very approachable. The Truckee "picket fence house" is beginning to feel like home for us.

Love the location!

  • 5 of 5

It was a nice surprise that we were able to secure 2 nights over the Fourth of July weekend at the Muse retreat. We had 2 grown ups, 4 young adults and 2 little kids in our group. The house was perfect! Had everything that we needed.

Love the location! We took Susan's suggestion on walking to the Truckee River Winery and we loved it. The wine was amazing! We ended up getting 8 bottles! The kids loved playing on the Bocce lane and the food was just perfect for the setting. The house is secluded but easy enough to get on major roads. I would definitely recommend this retreat and we would visit again!!

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, Susan!

A place to relax, refresh and recharge

  • 5 of 5

The Muse Retreat was such a lovely experience for us. Six adults over a weeks time enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of this vacation rental. In addition, some of us got outdoors to hike and cycle recharging our physical and mental abilities.

The home was well equipped for people such as us who enjoy cooking and was close to great eateries for those of us who don't enjoy that activity. We had no children with us but as a grandparent, I know my grandchildren would have been well accommodated and would have enjoyed all that the area had to offer.

We six all agreed that a stay at the Muse Retreat would be something to plan for again.
