Four bedroom, beautiful, top quality, detached chalet, sleeps 8 .

A rarity on the rental market, Chalet Daphne is a stand-alone, detached chalet. No noise from other apartments! It has been renovated to the highest standards with underfloor heating throughout. Traditional on the exterior, the chalet's interior is in a contemporary style with a high-quality finish. The chalet is on three floors with the kitchen/living/dining area on the top floor benefiting from superb views in all directions and wrap-around balcony. An ultra modern kitchen with island hob and fitted appliances is generously equipped. The dining area seats 8 people and the sitting area benefits from a wood-burning stove for a cosy feel. An open staircase leads to the second floor with master bedroom that has built-in furniture in old wood. The second bedroom on this level has twin beds. The bathroom is fully tiled with underfloor heating, bath, shower wet-room and double sink. On the bottom floor is a bunk room, twin bedroom, shower room and laundry facilities. The shower wet-rooms boast rain showers. Storage room. Free Wi-fi. iPod dock. Burgerpass not included in price.

Optional private chef available on a flexible basis to cook for you in the chalet (choose the days you would like, additional cost). Optional pre-delivery of shopping to the chalet (additional cost). Chalet manager can just about arrange anything for you.

About Sue Edwards

Keen skiers who have lived in Dubai for 10 years, escaping to Daphne in either winter or summer is perfect for us. The chalet is detached and unique and was fully renovated to our specifications after we bought it. So relaxing and a complete antidote to the desert! The children love it. Daphne is the name of an alpine flower found in Saas Fee but also, we have subsequently learned, the name of the Frenchman's wife who first bought the chalet in the 1960s.

Why Sue Edwards chose Saas-Fee/Saas Valley

Having spent many years skiing in Muerren growing up, we were keen to buy a ski chalet but wanted a resort slightly bigger than Muerren. Being similarly car-free, traditional and German-speaking, Saas Fee fit the bill for us.

What makes this chalet unique

Daphne is a stand-alone, detached chalet and one of a kind. There is not another one. You can lie in bed with a morning coffee and see straight up to the Allalin glaciers. Living takes place on the top floor where the views from every window are stunning. You can sit on the balcony and wonder at the millions of stars and if you're lucky get a view of our 'old man of the mountain', sleeping in the moonlight.

Lovely clean, well presented, well equiped chalet

Firstly the owner Sue is lovely and very accomodating considering that we wanted to be able to stay extra nights and although it chopped and changed around a bit there was no problem at all. The chalet manager, Adam, was also really helpful to us in providing help with luggage, ski passes and advice. After a long journey and very late arrival it was so nice to have a lovely welcome basket of delicious, locally produced goodies. The chalet was spacious for our family oif 5 children and 2 adults. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water provided that everyone didn't choose to have a long shower in the decadent rainfall shower!!! Saas Fee is a lovely resort which has a no car policy. There are electric buses which you can use to get to and from the chalet but the ones which run directly in front of the chalet stop at 10.30 am so this is a great encouragement to get up and get out. Otherwise it is a pleasant walk downhill to a bus stop on the main thoroughfare or carry on to the main ski lifts which takes about 20 mins. The buses back stop at 5.30 ish but again it is walkable. Adam helped us to find a boot room in which to leave our ski gear so that we didnt need to keep clumping back and forward to the chalet in it. There was a small charge pp for this. There a some lovely restaurants in Saas Fee notibly the Italian Don Ciccio where we ate for my daughters 16th birthday and it was delicious food. We had a great holiday in Saas Fee and would consider returning.

Chalet Daphne 2016

Wir haben das wunderschöne Chalet jetzt schon zum 3. Mal gemietet. Wir haben uns auch in diesem Jahr wieder sehr wohl gefühlt. Es hat ein tolles Ambiente und es ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

PS: Die Eigentümerin ist auch sehr nett

Fantastic Summer Holiday

We had never considered Switzerland for a summer holiday until we were invited to join some friends in Saas Fee. We had a wonderful time! The village is beautiful and so tranquil with no cars to contend with. The opportunities for Alpine walks are endless, the scenery stunning - and the weather was mostly warm and sunny.

We stayed at Chalet Daphne, which looks typically quaint from the outside but is beautifully appointed and comfortable inside. It has a modern, really well equipped kitchen and great bathrooms (fantastic showers!) The views from the upstairs, open plan, kitchen, living, dining area are awesome.

We would highly recommend both the village and the chalet (and the time of year).

Fabulous!

We had a wonderful stay at Chalet Daphne, The location above the village means that it is very peaceful and the views are simply stunning! The accommodation was very well laid out, especially the beautiful kitchen, I had no trouble finding anything. The decor is very luxurious and the beds comfortable. Only one small negative, the password for the Wi-fi is rather long and complicated, maybe it could be shortened? All in all a great stay and I would definitely recommend to friends

This was our third stay in Saas-Fee and the first time in Chalet Daphne. If you are searching for a charming, luxurious, nicely decorated, well located and fully equipped chalet where you can have a careless and relaxing break, look no further. This place is really spot-on and we will certainly go back there !

Saas Fee, known as the 'Pearl of the Alps' is a traffic-free, traditional Swiss ski resort that boasts skiing 10 months of the year on its glaciers. Nestled at 1800m, Saas Fee is surrounded by some of Switzerland's highest peaks and stunning scenery. There is skiing here to suit everybody and the village has three ski and snowboard schools as well as childcare. There are over 70 restaurants in the village including one that has twice been voted Switzerland's best restaurant. Walking around the village is easy but there are also several ski bus routes (free), a ski train as well as electric taxis. Apres-ski is well served by numerous bars near the bottom of the slopes. Free ski passes for the under-9's!

Saas Fee is an equally stunning summer resort with plenty to keep you occupied - adventure forest, gorge climbing, rock climbing, toboggan run, ice caves, walking trails and feeding the marmots - all in the beautiful fresh mountain air!
