About Owner/Property Manager
We live in Greenville SC in the burbs. Our fast pace lives begged for a get away. When we saw this mountain top we knew we were going to love this view. Morning sunrise with coffee on the deck sitting by the fireplace. We have two teenagers still at home. They love coming up on their days off and kayaking in Lake Glenville. To get ready for a week in the mountains we pack food, clothes, and toiletries. Everything else is waiting for us. That is what we wanted for future vacationers. No fuss; just walk in and make yourself at home.

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Sugarfork
Due to the elevation, it is always cooler then the surrounding towns of Cashiers, Highlands, Franklin and Glenville. The view of the two south facing decks is spectacular. Sun rising over the mountain across the valley is memorable. Summer activities include hiking everywhere, rafting on nearby rivers and boating on Lake Glenville. Restaurants, art fairs, antique shops, farmer's markets and unique clothing stores in nearby towns. Fall colors are mesmerizing.
What makes this House unique
Two large open decks. Top level deck with outdoor fire place. Serene. Brand new with all hardwood floors

Clean and well stocked but somewhat far from the main road.
The cabin was clean, well stocked and tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the deck and the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Be advised that the wood floors were dangerously slippery. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the wi fi connection was slow and intermittent. You won’t be able to stream movies on your electronic devices. Also, the Cabin was a bit too far from the paved road for us and an appropriate high profile vehicle is definitely suggested.
Beautiful and serene!
This is a beautiful home and was the perfect stay for our family. It truly is above the cloud line and incredibly quiet and relaxing. The home was very clean and well-appointed. The top and bottom decks were so nice. All of the amenities and conveniences were in place for us. Unlike many rentals, even spices and items such as garbage bags were on hand. Be prepared for a long twisty drive to the top of the mountain - and no cell phone service - but the views and silence are so worth it! We miss it so much already!!!
Great view and off the beaten path!
As a first timer to this rental, but a frequenter to other VRBO's we thoroughly enjoyed the property. The main level has the master, kitchen and living room as well as the main deck with a covered outdoor fireplace. The lower level has the two guest bedrooms with its own covered deck just below the main level deck. We felt very at home the entire stay and had a great view to the SE. The view range is about 150 degrees, and the sunrise is well within the viewing area. The home appears to have been recently refreshed and had all we needed. Groceries are about 25 minutes away in eastern Franklin. The roads thru the development are gravel and dirt, but well maintained. This one is a do-again if our travels take us back to the area. My wife and I commented this house is one we would consider buying if we were in the market for a cabin. The elevation was great was well. Renters will have a hard time finding lodging higher than this one. It's a prime place for spring thru fall season. Temp for us in later July was upper 50's at night and mid-upper 70's during the day. Considering towns down in the valley were low 90's I would say we were fortunate to have the high elevation to escape the heat.
Thank you for opening your home to my family of 5 (two college students and one high school senior).
The most beautiful. The most remote. State of the art appliances. Uncommon simple beauty
Great View. Falls short after that
The cabin has a beautiful view. However, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, the downstairs was filthy and smelled dingy. The wifi did not work. The cabin is on a very long uphill gravel road which is doable with the right vehicle. We made it work for our trip but will not stay again.
Lovely home with awesome views!
