One bedroom with garden outside, set in a natural typical olive terrace
Indipendent small house inside a restored hamlet "Badia di Sopra". Close 2km from Loro Ciuffenna.
The house is located close to the main owner villa, have one bedroom with doublebed, one bathroom, living room with sofa, kitchen and a panoramic terrace outside with table and chairs.
Inside the property there are an magnificent infinity pool, with great views of valley and sorroundings, well manteined gardens, walking paths, some fruits trees and a fenced parking.
All the "Badia di Sopra" hamlet was for longer time just old forgotten ruins. The swiss Strasser family. during a holiday in Loro Ciuffenna loved the position and the views of that ruins, then he decided to buy it and make a great restructuration of the old village. This is was possible with help of "Accademia delle belle Arti" italian institution for the protection the artistic heritage, and Piero Giusti, a building contractor, one of the most famous and talented of the area. The Accademia made the hard work to identify and enumerate all the stones, and forced the owner to rebuild in the same location and in the same sizes, the village that was.
So no external modified can be apported and what you can see now is the same hamlet of many century ago......

Far beyond expectations
(Note that the house details in this review actually pertain to listing #4337262. We actually switched to a different house on the same property after booking, but it never got changed on HomeAway. All the property descriptions pertain to both this and that listing, however.)
This place is absolutely stunning. Everything was far beyond our expectations. I don't often leave 5-star reviews for anything, but this one is well deserved. I really can't say enough about it.
My husband and I stayed four nights in late June. I believe we were one of the first guests here. Heidi, the hostess, was an absolute dear. She showed us around the property on our arrival, then offered us a snack and water (with lemon from the trees on the property). She left us to our own devices for our stay, but was readily available if we needed anything at all. Be sure to ask to see the photos of what this place looked like before they restored it. The work they've done is astounding.
The property grounds are gorgeous, with flowers, well-manicured lawns, beautiful stone walkways everywhere. The lavender was blooming when we were there, and it smelled heavenly. The views are stunning. Everything is meticulously maintained and clean. There are a number of communal areas, including a covered patio with a few chairs (the patio with the white furniture in the photos). The attention to detail was amazing, from the rosebuds on the fresh towels to the patio furniture choice and placement to not block the view.
On to our particular guest house (again, this is actually for listing #4337262): This was just perfect for my husband and me. It's the most private of the 3 guest houses--no one will be walking by. It's small, but not cramped at all. Everything feels extremely luxurious, and everything smells wonderful, from the hand soap to the sheets and towels. There's a small private patio with table, chairs, and an umbrella. The bedroom has doors that leave you steps from the pool. This one had air conditioning. Do note that the bedroom is on the top floor while everything else is on the bottom, so you'll find yourself going up and down the stairs quite often.
The only concern with this place is the parking. It's a little tight. It was workable with just us and one other guest, but it could be a little tricky with all three guest houses occupied. I'll also note that the wifi wasn't great. It worked fine at the pool, but not in our house or the communal patio. But we'll be back!
