About Mario Carlo

I am a retired architect. I love to fish, to swim, and spend my time doing sports or making friends.

I designed and built this house, and was finished in 2009.

I used to travel around the world and most of the times we rented a house, so we know what you need.

Mario Carlo purchased this house in 2009

Why Mario Carlo chose Quintana Roo

I designed and built this home because I wanted to spend more time here in the island.

In Mexico I would say is the safest place to be and to live in, because it is a small community, and the people know me and they take care of my family.

What makes this house unique

You will love this house if you travel with kids, because you do not need go anyway, just open the back door and now you are at the beach.

If you travel with friends too, the same thing, just enjoy, party, cook something in the grill and if you prefer you can cook all the time, but if do not, then you can walk in the white sand to have breakfast, or dinner.

Even you can rent a golf cart and go different places in the island.

We have pure water, big super market, drug store, hospital, doctors, etc...

Absolutely Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

As many others have said, the pictures don't express the true beauty of this house. Mario has done a wonderful job in both the design, interior layout and the interior decor. His attention to detail shows throughout each and every room in this house. The location is excellent on the quiet Sac Bajo side of this beautiful island and having your own private pool and beach is amazing. The sunsets are amazing and looking out towards the lights of Cancun at night is breathtaking! We had 9 wonderful days enjoying the house and island for this our first visit to Isla Mujeres.

It was just my wife and myself this trip but we are already planning our next visit and may bring our two kids and their spouses....or maybe just us without them again lol.

We ate all of our meals out at the wonderful restaurants located on Isla but Mario has this place equipped with anything and everything you would need to prepare your own meals. The Chedraui store is a short 10 minutes by golf cart and has pretty much everything you would need for your stay. Wonderful assortment of baked goods, beer & liquor, food, you name it. Like a Walmart with a grocery store. They even sell scooters and bikes!

The house is equipped with a washer and dryer and knowing that we were able to pack lighter than normal since we did utilize it for one load of laundry. There are plenty of towels for showers and pool/beach and plenty of bottled water supplied via a water cooler located in the pantry. It even has two refrigerators.

All 3 bedrooms are en suite and there is a half bath located on the main level off the kitchen & living room. The property is very secure not that we ever felt unsafe at any time while anywhere on Isla Mujeres. The landscape lights at night make this house and the beautiful landscaping even more spectacular after sunset. Unfortunately they don't include a provision to post pictures on VRBO but I will add a few when I post my review on Tripadvisor for this beautiful house.

Mario is a class act and was a total pleasure to deal with from start to finish and we look forward to our return trip to this beautiful house he built and wonderful Isla Mujeres!

This is a gorgeous property and prestinly maintained. I've been to the island a few times and very few beachfront rentals give you this value. Hosts were all so friendly and attent. I look forward to staying here again.

Mesmerized

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa with another our friend's family (total of 4 adults and 4 small children) and it was a blast! The pictures do not do justice. The villa is beautifully designed, very clean and comfortable. Has everything you need including laundry/air conditioning/purified water/kitchen appliances. It was great having the pool and beach. Our kids would go back and forth between the two. One thing to bring is mosquito repellent (this side of the island tends to have more mosquitos). You either need to rent a golf cart or use the taxi to get around but you can totally walk 50ft to Tiburon restaurant on the beach for lunch/dinner as well. We were planning to visit other places on the island but ended staying at the villa because there was so much to enjoy. Just want to thank Mario for this unforgettable experience.

Perfect Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a more perfect stay in this gorgeous home. Mario the owner was very welcoming and easy to work with. You can tell how proud he is of his beautiful home and he should be! It had everything we could possibly need. The home is very clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Plenty of closet space. All the bathrooms were very roomy as well. The weather didn't totally cooperate a few days and we enjoyed the large covered patio playing games listening to the rain. The kitchen is nicely equipped, even with many appliances you wouldn't normally have such as a juicer (one of our group found it after she hand squeezed 24 limes for margaritas) If you enjoying cooking your meals at home then you will not be disappointed with the kitchen.

Plenty of bottled water was available and the two refrigerators came in handy for all of our beverages and left overs. The property is very secure, even with the beach access gates, none of us felt unsafe. The Jacuzzi in the pool was the only item we found not operable but it didn't bother us a bit as we enjoyed the beach. On the beach there is a local beach bar that the tour boats make a stop at on the way back to North beach or Cancun and to the opposite side is the turtle farm. Only a few times did the "snorkel guests" really bother us with the constant blowing of the conch shells or drunk people walking to the turtle farm. They quickly moved on once they saw the property was private and we weren't a stop on the way.

Mario is such a wonderful owner and you can certainly tell he takes great pride in his home. We treated his home as if it were our own and felt honored to be his guest. Can't wait to book again.

Beautiful beach house!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Casa Calle Angosta. We were a family of 4 teen boys and 2 adult parents (crazy right!). The location on Sac Bajo is mid island and fairly easy to get to once you figure out the roads. The house has everything you need and more. Simple things like bottled water for drinking and making coffee. 2 large refrigerators and 1 large pantry to help store items out of the way. Beds were comfortable. Air Conditioning units in the rooms work perfectly. The "man cave" bar area was a cute little side room with a TV. In the right weather the back doors all open up to the pool deck. We loved looking out to the beach from the living room, kitchen and upstairs master.

The beach is not swimable unless you enter from the end of the pier. Stingrays and sea urchins are found in the shallow waters. However, the end of the piers were fabulous because of the sea life surrounding the supports. You can walk one way from the house to the turtle farm and the other way to a "locals" restaurant/bar. This area of the island is so interesting. You have turtle farms, local hang outs, street sales, bottle island, nurse sharks (kind of inhumane and sad), swim with dolfins and finally a 5 star resort. The house doesn't have a safe but we never felt at risk.

The owner, Mario is so nice and welcoming. He will answer any of your questions ahead of time and during your stay. Mario even worked with the lady we hired to deliver our groceries. He let her in the day before our arrival and she stocked our fridges full of drinks and food (back to that teen boy issue). Our family would highly recommend this house for families and couples.

You would need to rent golf carts if staying at this house. We rented 2 and had a blast going around the island.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

It was a privilege to have stayed at this amazing home. We are a family of five with kids ages, 8, 13 and 15. We stayed at an all inclusive in Riviera Maya for the first part of our vacation with some friends and added 5 days at this home on to our vacation for some family time. What a great decision that was. The house was immaculate and the interior design was fabulous. You can't imagine anything more relaxing. Mario made the transaction very easy, he made sure we had everything we needed throughout the week. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations that were left for us too! The views from the living room and master were so beautiful. The pool was lovely and perfect to relax around. The beach has soft white sand, nice for walks. The kitchen has everything you need if you like to cook. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious. Although spacious the house was nice and cozy. The neighbors were very kind and welcoming too, including the folks at the Tiburon bar restaurant that was just a short walk down the beach. We rented a golf cart in town when we arrived, the rides in and out of town were very enjoyable. The grocery is near to this house and has everything you need to make a great meal. I love the cheeses and the bakery! What a friendly town! We definitely look forward to returning. Our favorite restaurants that week were Mango Cafe for breakfast/brunch, the Rooster for coffee (fun owners) and Las Brisas for beach front dining. Thank you!

Notes:
We appreciate your interest in our beachfront property, but sometimes people are not honest and we have been very dissappointed explanations. Some people do not know how to operate a golf car, then they impair it, and after they talk about golf car was not working properly. Other people complain about washer and dryer but we need to give service to the equipment but we find a lot of sand inside and machine makes noisy after each reservation, because people do not take care of the equipment. After people leave we find the dishwasher very dirty and dishes too, we try to give you the best of our house but we need you to take care of it.
