About John or Jenni Faison

John & Jenni Faison is the Executive Director of Centro International de Raleigh. They is passionate about sharing about God's love for immigrants with others. The believe that welcoming immigrants will bring a blessing to the Church, to our communities and to our nation.

We like to camp in a pop-up, a tent, or a regular camper. We especially like to camp in the winter. The mountains are our favorite place to camp.

We like the out of doors but hate the heat. We should probably live in Alaska.

We try to go to the beach once a year in late early fall to avoid the crowds and the heat.

Wonderful Thanksgiving vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful and clean home exceeded our expectations. Plenty of pots and pans, seating, sleeping arrangements, and all the comforts of home. This house is close to stores, downtown, and freeways. The owners were readily available to answer any questions. Great place, we'll be back soon! Thank you Jenni for allowing us to use your lovely home!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review! You are so right--this house is great for a family or large group. Everyone loves the full-over-queen bunk bed and tiled showers. We are close to downtown, only 6 miles away. We have five grocery stores within a 5-mile radius (3 are Walmart Supercenters). We love hosting and making every guest's stay awesome! We are close-by and make ourselves available in case our guests need anything. We do hope you return!

Great Find!

We felt fortunate to have found this home available. It was clean, well stocked with towels and everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable sleeping for all, most of all, the location had good proximity to downtown Raleigh and perfectly fit our needs.

Very accommodating!

  • 5 of 5

John and Jenni were very responsive and thoughtful hosts with chilled mini water bottles in the fridge for us! We had a few guests that confirmed last minute and they came right over and set up the extra beds for our guests. We had a relaxing time at their home the weekend of a very busy bachelorette/bridal shower with guests from all over. They live very close so were able to greet us upon arrival. Over all we had a great stay.

Nice place, good location, but...

  • 3 of 5

The new renovations of this place are very nice. The unit connected was under construction during our stay but it wasn't much of a bother. The location is convenient to downtown, bars, and restaurants. My main issue was the owners making a significant handful of visits to us. I'm sure when they met us and saw we were a group of young guys in town for a bachelor party they became concerned... but it was to a point where we were feeling uncomfortable with how often we were seeing them. We were not obnoxious or disrespectful to their property whatsoever. Kind of felt like they were trying to catch us being destructive. Outdoor camera should be noted in the description of the rental... even if it is just for security purposes. Also a little creepy that the owner sent a video of one of my friends smoking on the deck to me at 4 a.m.

Nobody wants to feel like they are being monitored on their vacation. Maybe it was just because they were making assumptions about our group, but still.

Owner's Response: Hi, thanks for your review. We are glad that you liked the home, we have worked hard to make it nice for our guests. Part of our efforts is to keep it clean and smoke-free for all guests. Our listing makes it very clear that there is no smoking anywhere on the property, and we have a conspicuous "no smoking on the property" sign on the front door. Naturally, we were concerned when we came to welcome the group to find some in the party were smoking. We reminded the group at that time of the strict rule. Even with this warning some continued to smoke on the property. When we realized how important it was for some in the party to smoke we bought some extra chairs and a table to provide a place on the side of the yard to smoke in order to accomodate them. As a result of your feed back, we have placed another notice in the listing about the security camera and will continue to provide a designated place for smokers.

Decent house - no free laundry

  • 3 of 5

The house has been renovated and is really nice inside. The kitchen was great and it was nice being able to watch movies at night. Work is still being done outside and the neighborhood was ok, but not great. It is at least 15 minutes from downtown, and sometimes more depending on traffic - just fyi. The only thing that was really disappointing was that the washing machine was outside the house and that we needed to provide a pay pal account to use it - we were not expecting a charge for laundry. That was tough with a 4 day stay.

Owner's Response: Hi, Thanks for you review. We are happy that you liked the house. We remodeled and designed it with travelers and their comfort in mind. We are also very happy to be able to offer and excellent value to our guest when compared to other local options. At this time we are in the process of constructing very large slate patio with a fish pond and fountain that we believe our guests will really enjoy. It should be complete in May. We are always looking to improve the property for the enjoyment of our guests. One of our plans is to cover the back deck and screen it in. In order to maximize the space inside for comfort, we located the laundry in an attached room off the back deck. Since we provide laundry detergent, Clorox, and fabric softener with the laundry access, we decided to add a charge to cover those costs. There is also a coin laundry just a mile away if one wants to use that. One of the great aspects of this property is the neighborhood. We live just a few blocks away, our kids play in the neighborhood, and we know most of the neighbors. Most mornings and evenings one can find couples and families out for a walk. It is convenient to anywhere in the Triangle, since it so close to the two belt-lines around Raleigh and only 7 miles from downtown.
