Loved the decks and the view of the ocean!
Great property and loved walking straight out to beach!
This has all the qualities we seek for a quiet vacation.
Great, small place, perfect for us as a couple.
Beautiful view with a quiet and relaxing location
We had a fantastic week at this beachfront cottage. The view from the back windows and the deck are spectacular. We enjoyed walking on the beach and watching the sunset from the hot tub. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the upper-level deck allowed us to watch the dolphins each evening and sit and enjoy a few cocktails as well. The cottage itself is not anything fancy, but it has all the necessary items for a nice vacation. The king-size bed was comfortable and had a tv on the wall to watch each evening. The bathroom was very clean with luxurious towels. A couple of the amenities in the kitchen are quite old, but still in working order. The refrigerator and microwave are newer. The neighbors are close on both sides, however, the landscaping provides a lot of privacy. Our only issues during our stay were that we had planned many of our meals around using the grill, but upon arrival found the grill to be in very bad shape; almost unusable. The strings of lights that are wrapped in the trees above the hot tub are also not working. Only one small strand worked. The WiFi had to be reset a couple of times, but worked well otherwise. These things in no way ruined our vacation, but were a bit dissappointing. This cottage is a place we would definitely return to for vacation. It’s private, quiet, and the view is absolutely spectacular.
Thank you for letting me know about the grill, I didn't realize it had gotten in such bad shape. I always check to make sure there is plenty of propane but unfortunately I hadn't lifted the lid recently and didn't know the bottom had rusted out. The grill has now been replaced with a new one.
As I tell all guests -PLEASE let me know if there are any issues with the house and I will make every effort to resolve them ASAP. I try to keep everything in good condition but sometimes things like this do get overlooked. I live close by and I am available anytime. I will make every attempt to fix any problems brought to my attention so don't hesitate to let me know.
Perfect little old time beach cottage
We can't say enough good about this place. It was perfect for me and my husband and dogs. No stairs! Walk right out to beach! Great decks! Even w neighbors on each side it is very private. We saw dolphins up close. Sunsets were amazing. Weather perfect after a rainy start. Our week flew by.
Owner was very responsive to a couple very minor problems we had.
It's nice to be able to take the dogs. They loved the beach play.
We will definitely plan to return.
Summer vacation in October!
We love the cottage. We love Alligator Point. We love Florida's Forgotten Coast. Would have preferred cooler temps with less humidity so we could open windows to hear the surf at night. Entertained by dolphins, seabirds, stargazing, fishing, & just staring out to sea. Dining on fresh seafood always makes me happy. You will find here the very definition of "chillaxin". If you need to unwind and reflect, this is the place.
Alligator Point contains miles of untouched white sand beaches, sea oat covered sand dunes, Bald Point State park a 5,000 acre protected wildlife area nationally acclaimed as a bi-annual stopover for migrating birds and butterflies, hiking trails, bicycling, kayaking, full service marina, boat ramps, fishing charters, tiki bar. You will not find crowds, strip malls and amusement parks – this is classic Old Florida on the Forgotten Coast!
A few miles north towards Panacea there are seafood restaurants, a liquor store, fresh seafood markets and a small grocery store.
