About Jaja Martin
Dave and Jaja sailed into Midcoast Maine after a 15 year circumnavigation on a small sailboat. 'The picturesque coastline, sense of community and numerous attractions of the area were so compelling that we stayed!'
Jaja Martin purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Jaja Martin chose Bremen
After living in various ports throughout the world, we fell in love with the Midcoast Area. When we found this unique parcel of lakefront property we felt that we owned a small piece of paradise.
What makes this Cottage unique
Hidden from the road down a winding grassy driveway, this cottage affords the privacy we've always enjoyed. The waterfront includes a small peninsula where loons shelter and beaver swim past on the way to their lodge. We enjoy barbecuing on a warm summer evening, going for a swim, and relaxing as the sun sets.

Wonderful Lake Cottage
We had a wonderful family vacation at the cottage. It was completely suitable for two grandchildren, two parents and two grandparents. The location was excellent. The cottage was indeed secluded and quiet, without any next door neighbors.
The grandchildren were able to play ball outside in the yard, swing on an old fashioned rope swing and pick berries. The lake was just far enough away for the kids to safely play. The lake was simply beautiful and much larger than expected, perfect for jumping off the dock and taking a swim. The cottage was open, airy and fit six people comfortably.
The cottage was an easy drive from Damriscotta, located far enough away from the traffic and town congestion, but close enough to food shop at Hannafords and restaurant dinning. We discovered a good coffee, ice cream shop and two great lobster shacks in the little village of Round Top.
One of the greatest moments was watching the sunsets over the lake. Great vacation spot and would certainly rent the cottage again.
We had a wonderful week at the Lake House. It is a rustic cottage, well appointed with all cooking items needed in the kitchen. It is very clean! JaJa is eager to please and checked in with us by stopping by and by email. She left items we requested....some beach towels, on our porch after an email request. My only suggestion may be to add a dock ladder so it's easier to get back on the dock after jumping in! We made some lovely, old fashion vacation memories. It was wonderful. Love that there is no TV. Internet it available and works well. No washer and dryer, just FYI. It was easy to run to town and do a load of laundry. Thanks so much!
You were wonderful guests! So fun to talk with. I feel lucky to have gotten to know you. I hope you come back some time in the future!
Truly a cabin in the woods. Issy Ossy was a comfortable spacious open place to wake with the sun, sit and listen to the Loons, paddle in the bright sun, and return to for big meals and gorgeous sunsets. It is secluded from other houses down it's long driveway, but close enough to towns and sights to make all the travelers happy. Visit a lighthouse, shop for trinkets, or sit on the dock and do absolutely nothing. Thank you JaJa for a great place and your warm hospitality.
Beautiful, cozy home!
We had a lovely time visiting Bremen, Maine. It was peaceful and refreshing, and encouraged lots of exploring of the property, the area and in the nearby towns. We enjoyed just being together in this "nature preserve" and lovely home and did lots of cooking and even toasted marshmallows one cool night!. A little chipmunk was curious and came to visit us every day. We all had a good time, and the owners were very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this property.
Thank you Linda. We enjoyed having you and your family stay at our lake house. You were the perfect guests!
Great home and a welcoming host!
My husband and I couldn't be happier with our choice to stay as Issi Ossi in Bremen. Jaja met us on our first night to welcome us and gave us great advice about activities, driving in the area and even suggested a great country store in Round Pond that our daughters absolutely loved! Our girls (2 and 6) had a great time down by the water and loved the paddleboat. The water is not very good for little ones to wade by themselves, the bottom is mostly large and sometimes slippery rocks. Even so, our little one loved "sliding" down the rocks into the water with my help and my oldest was able to jump off the dock and swim back to the rocks. I would recommend water shoes for traction. The home was spacious and cozy and well equipped with everything we needed from towels to board games and kitchenware. We explored the area every day and would recommend Pemaquid Beach and the Lighthouse, Boothbay Harbor, the aquarium and Botanical Gardens. We also took a short drive to Camden to Mt Battie, which is a short hike (and even shorter drive) up to a beautiful view. We had so many adventures and were so sad to leave at the end of the week knowing there were so many more places to explore. We would definitely recommend renting this beautiful home for an authentic Maine getaway.
Great summer retreat
The house was perfect for a summer stay - the lake is gorgeous, the house is fully equipped with everything you need, and the location offers peaceful privacy.
A canoe, equipped with paddles and life jackets, awaits you at your private waterfront. Visit Monhegan Island by ferry boat to hike to the cliffs, and experience the historical artist community. Enjoy whale watching, seal watches, or an evening lighthouse cruise. Botanical Gardens and nature walks. Kayak tours of lakes, ocean bays and outer islands.
