The furnishings were outdated, which we knew from the pictures and weren't a problem. While the house was cleaned on the surface it had not been deep cleaned in awhile. There was cobwebs in the corners and felt like it wasn't kept up. There was wallpaper peeling in the bathroom and a lot of lightbulbs burnt out. The pillows were really flat and uncomfortable so I would suggest bringing your own. It did it's purpose for us and was better then staying in a hotel but could be a lot better if they occasionally did a deep cleaning and a little updating here and there.
Had a great time staying at this cabin. It was clean, recently updated, very comfortable, and on the lake. Highly recommend staying here.
I had a group of family & friends stay here and everyone had a great time, the house was located in the resort...about a 10-11 block walk on a nice quiet road lined with beautiful lake homes. We loved the lakeview, the house was perfect and it was in a great location near the beach and several golf courses. We spent a day at the island and in the evening took our pontoon over to the Elvis show and watched the event from our pontoon. We took the night time shuttle so we could go see the entertainment in the area without having to drive. We'll be back next year!
The home does not sleep sixteen people comfortably. There are beds for 12 people and the others will have to sleep on cots. When we rented, the description said there were three bathrooms. This was not correct. I see the description has been updated to 2.5 baths. This makes a big difference when trying to have 16 people shower.
My family (6 adults and 5 children) stayed for one week this summer. We loved the large back yard to play in and the fire pit. The kids especially enjoyed the pool table and ping pong table. We also appreciated the proximity to the Breezy Point Resort and enjoyed the live music that they provide.
There were, however significant concerns. The water in the hot tub was very dirty upon our arrival and there were no chemicals available. Even after the caretaker delivered chemicals for the tub, it did not clear up and looked nasty all week. In addition, screens were missing from nearly every upper level window which made it a safety concern for young children not to mention no option to open windows. The caretaker did respond to our concerns immediately and replace the screens.
Even though it had been clearly negotiated as part of our rental, the key to the Breeze Point pool was not available. This was frustrating. The dock was extremely weedy to the extent to which we could not dock our boat and needed to tether it from the end of the dock and let it float out in the water. Finally, we were very disappointed in the maintenance of the home. It was clean but very shabby. The walls were dirty and sorely in need of fresh paint. The wall paper was peeling everywhere. The mattresses on the kids beds in the bunk bed room did not have mattress protectors on them which is really gross on kids beds. It was very musty and smelly down stairs (I would think due to a dirty hot tub and pee on the mattresses).
Overall we liked the area and appreciated the responsiveness of the caretakers but will not be returning.
Our family of 8 adults/6 kids had a great week at the lake house. The full size fridge downstairs was a huge bonus! Our favorite parts were the huge flat yard with fire pit and the screened porch; we had all our meals out there. The grill was great and easy to use right off the lower walk out. The kids loved the ping pong/pool and we had enough room to spread out and sleep comfortably. The shower and powder room downstairs also helped. The laundry water did leave a little bit of a rusty smell, but not a big deal. We had plenty of parking and the roads were great for walking. It took a bit to get the key to the resort worked out, but we were happy to have the resort pool available. Our deal-breaker was that the dock area was heavily weeded, so no swimming or jet ski from the dock. We were able to catch some fish there, but having to divide up to use the jet ski or swim from the crowded resort shore was tough for our group. We also had to hookup our own system, the DVD player didn’t work. Kitchen supplies and appliances were pretty good for cooking. There were plenty of bath towels once we found them in the laundry, but we still used our beach towels inside too. We had to restock supplies like toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap (but did have a lot of people) and ran low on plates and glasses. Décor was maybe a little dated, but kept up and clean. Tania was great to work with and responded quickly to our questions. If not for the weeds, we would be back this year.
Great Shopping at the 'Famous Nisswa town', Tubing with tow ropes, Tractor Hay Rides and Horse Sleigh Rides, Outdoor Ice Scating and the new indoor Breezy Point Ice arena is 1/2 Mile west of the front gate.
