Florida Panhandle Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Cottage Directly On Private, (Sleeps 4) White-Sand Beach

Completely renovated Gulf-front/beach-front cottage allows you to rest or play as much as you want and literally get away from it all. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the screened porch that will make you feel like you're on a luxury cruise ship plying the tropics. Walk the beach from one end to the other collecting sea shells or swimming or sunbathing.

The home is smartly and comfortably furnished. The bathroom allows you to take a shower while looking out to the Gulf and beach. Bedroom furniture is relaxing and new. Prepare meals in the kitchen while gazing out to the Gulf and sparkling white-sand beach or while visiting with family on the screened porch or in the living room.

Home is a perfect get-away for major holidays or an FSU football game. Or drop a child off at an FSU camp while you and your spouse stay a week at the beach! The cottage is great for a family of four or two couples. Relax and do nothing but watch dolphins and walk the beach or fish or jet ski or play golf nearby or go antiquing at nearby towns (Carrabelle, Crawfordville, Apalachicola) and of course, come to eat the best and freshest seafood in the world!

About Chris

Was first introduced to Alligator Point by local friends from Tallahassee in the mid-1990's and have been coming to Alligator Point every year since for the Memorial Day Weekend Captain Jack Fishing Tournament that is held at the Alligator Point Marina. By the way, you must visit the End Of The World Oasis at Alligator Point Marina and have a deep fried Grouper sandwich -- the absolute best! And if you catch it, they'll even fry it up fresh!

Chris purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Chris chose Florida Panhandle

Because of my familiarity with Alligator Point and the many good times I've had here, decided to finally buy a home. After visiting several homes, all it took was one time out on the screened porch of my cottage to know that this was the place. I always feel like I'm right over the Gulf when sitting on the screened porch. And not only are the sunsets spectacular, but nights with a full moon are also just as stunning!

What makes this cottage unique

The views of the gulf and the beach are priceless not to mention the times that I've been able to sit on the screened porch sipping my favorite beverage and actually watch dolphins swim almost onto the beach as they feed in the very shallow water. Absolutely beautiful!

Nice house, great location right on the water, wonderful screened-in porch.

  • 5 of 5

The house was neat and clean, and had all the amenities advertised. Beach proximity is the best we have experienced, The highest tide during our stay was 15 feet from the retaining wall, which is right under the edge of the screened in porch. Fishing was good, with relatively deep water between the shore and a big sand bar a couple hundred yards out. A great property for one or two couples, if you can handle the scheduling of a single bathroom.

Awesome location in a lovely beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent one week at this location early February. Weather was cool but we weren't looking for a sunny destination. As the other reviews state, and the photo shows, this location is A++. The cottage is comfortable and clean. Cottage manager not always quick to get back to you.

This is a remote location on the "Forgotten Coast" where you are about 30 minutes from a local grocery store. You will not find any chain restaurants or Starbucks which was just fine for us. Local restaurant food on the mainland was quite good, don't let the exterior fool you. We explored further along the coast to Appalachacola, St George Island and Carrabelle; all were worth the trip for different reasons.

A trip to Alligator Point will awaken your senses to the beauty of the gulf and clear your mind of the routine back home.

Absolutely the little piece of heaven we hoped it would be!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this beach house so very much! The pictures don't really do the lovely cottage justice. You couldn't ask for a more perfect location to watch the sea life from the back screened porch or for a shorter walk down to the beach to sunbathe, fish, or look for shells. I was so impressed how immaculately clean the house was, how tastefully and comfortably decorated the interior furnishings were, and how well stocked the entire house is with everything needed for a relaxing, pleasant stay. We both are already planning our return visit to this wonderful retreat next year!! Chris was quick to respond to an inquiry we had about the cable/internet being out the morning following an overnight thunderstorm, and it was taken care of by the cable company within a short amount of time. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your home with us!!

Very enjoyable seven days!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to Alligator Point and Chris' home. We have stayed in MANY other vacation homes from Cayman Brac to Molokai, from the Outer Banks to the Napa Valley, and from the Florida Keys to the UP of Michigan, and this home is at or near the top of our list. The screened in porch allows one to fully indulge one's self in the sights, sounds and smells of the Gulf of Mexico. Even though we did not see the dolphins on this trip, we still thoroughly enjoyed the other wild life. The weather was picture card perfect for the week we were there and the water was perfect for swimming or wading. We did not find the shells on the beach that we have found in the past but the beach is still excellent to enjoy the sun, the sound of the surf and just for walking anytime of the day. I will add a new restaurant in Sopchoppy for a good place to eat: Joe's Diner. The diner is decked out in a 50's/60's music mode and has great food. Another newer eatery in Apalachicola (one MUST spend part of a day exploring this quaint town) is AJ's. More local in the Panacea and Medart areas ...... Big Daddy's Pizza, Coastal Diner and Hamanackers BBQ offer great food. Thanks Chris, for once again sharing your beach home with us!

Located just South of Tallahassee, Alligator Point is a non-commercial beach made up of single family vacation homes. There are no commercial enterprises(other than the marina) on the peninsula. Most the time you feel like you have a private beach all to yourself. It's like taking a step back in time.

There is ample wildlife to observe, miles of beach to explore and close to restaurants and shopping. The fishing is great right off the beach or on any number of charter boats in nearby Panacea or Carrabelle. It is adjacent to a State Park and federal wildlife area with picnic areas and hiking trails. Also, Wakulla Springs State Park, the Panacea Gulf Aquarium and the pre-Civil War port town of Apalachicola are all terrific day trips.
