The cabin was very nice and we really enjoyed the stay. It is probably ideal for just 2 people due to the size. It was very comfortable and inviting and really gave us the feel of a mountain cabin.

The Benjamin Cabin

  • 5 of 5

At first we were worried it was too far from yellowstone to be worth how reasonable the cabin was. It was well worth it! The drive to yellowstone had great views and if we had not stayed at this cabin we would not have seen moose and grizzly! We never saw these in yellowstone but saw them outside of yellowstone in Shoshone National Park on the way to and from the cabin. The cabin was great. It was clean, stocked with everything we needed, peaceful, and had a nice view. It is not far from Cody, WY, which has good places to eat, shop, and activities. Erin, the owner, was very nice and gave us a tip about a herd of elk just outside of Wapiti. We went to check them out and saw 20+ female and 3 bucks. Overall a great experience.

The Bear

After making the long drive from Hill City, SD, the cottage of the Waglers was easy to find and a great location to finish the later half of our Yellowstone adventure. The accommodations were perfect in size and location. It was cozy and Erin and Brad were great hosts. The restaurant next door, Mountain View, Erin waited tables, Brad cooked, has great food and reasonably priced. There were so many things in the area to see but my time was limited. Meet many locals who were quite friendly and made my stay even more welcoming. I loved their cottage and I will return maybe in the spring. Horseback riding close by. Bed quite comfy. Lots of wildlife nearby. Drive to Yellowstone perfect from location. And oh the night sky was quite incredible!!! You've never seen so many stars!!!!

Nice cabin

  • 2 of 5

This is a cute cabin. It is most suitable for just 2 people, I think if you had 4 you would be cramp even if the other 2 were kids. Pros to the cabin is it is about 1/2 hr to the east gate of Yellowstone, plan on another hour drive just to get to fishing bridge in yellowstone. Had great views and the owners were very nice and accommodating. The cons to the cabin is that the floor is not level a few times I felt like I was going to fall over, the shower head needs to be raised higher it would be great if you are a short person, I am only 5'6 and the water came out to my stomache, it was hard to use to wash my hair. The other problem I noticed is that the toliet is not vented and you get a sewer gas smell if the bathroom door is shut, maybe it is just the water that smells but it kinda stunk up the cabin. The air conditioning unit had a hard time keeping the cabin cool, it was in the upper 80s low 90s when we were there and there was only one window that had a screen on it. We stayed for 5 nights and it worked for us it was just my boyfriend and I. It looks like their other cabins are a lot nicer than this one. This one is older and is starting to rot out and could use some tlc to it. This one does have a mini fridge in it but you can not open the door all of the way because the stove gets in the way. We had to use a cooler as well and it would of been nice for the owners to supply this unit with ice since the fridge is a mini one but we had to pay $2 a bag which really is not a big deal.

Cozy Cabin, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The views from the cabin are awesome. The owners are very nice regarding pets. The location was a perfect distance between Cody and the East Gate of Yellowstone. My hubby could see Rocky Mountain Sheep from the deck with his binoculars. The owner checked in with us to make sure we had everything that we needed. My only suggestions would be to add to the cabin a few extra things such as: an extra blanket, extra towels, and a new set of nonstick pans from Walmart to use for cooking. We really did enjoy our stay and will certainly go back sometime. Driving in the area is beyond beautiful. Just taking the dogs out to do their business at the cabin has views that will take your breath away. Also, I think I understood the owner that a restaurant will be opening near the cabin shortly. You would have to verify that with them though. We loved our stay. The owner's responded very quickly to all of our emails and telephone calls.
