Heating is included in the price - no bills to pay for expensive gas as this is an ecological house. The Hay barn is located on a quiet country lane which was the first Roman road towards Sarnano, and the 400 year old building is private but not isolated. It has it's own entrance, two patios and it's own large garden with pomegranates, figs and grapes nestled in the green foothills of the Sibillini Mountains with some of the best views on offer. The cottage has a glass wall facing the panorama and can be used as an artist's studio. There is underfloor heating run by a wood burning stove, and solar panels for hot water. The sauna is made of high quality wood and is an delight to use. We service the cottage ourselves. The historic town of Sarnano is less than five minutes drive away offering a range of services. The accommodation is open plan, and has large living room, piano, fully equipped kitchen, out door dining.
Details of Living room and grounds: The living room centres around the wall of glass facing the mountains and the fireplace. There is a large leather sofa, a pony-skin vintage chair, piano, book cases and artwork. Overall there is a uniqueness about this home as it is an architect's house, many things are hand made, and there is also a piano for those with musical interests.
The property has 12 acres of fields and woodlands and there are fantastic and easy walks right outside the cottage. Two of the oldest and very beautiful churches are a few minutes walk away. The landscape and views are glorious in every direction. Also, this is a perfect base for those who like to hike as the mountains are on your doorstep. The private grounds of the hay barn are large with pomegranates, flowers, some grapes, some figs and olives. There is outdoor dining.
