Overview

About the property

Embrace wonderful, tranquil Muskoka. Take in the amazing colours, warmth of the sunshine and serenity of the true north.

Private and cozy cottage is located on Raven Lake in Dorset, Ontario. The cottage is located 1 minute off of Highway 35 off a well maintained small road. Pull right up and unload your belongings and groceries (no hike or stairs)!

Located directly on the lake, the cottage is very private and great for swimming, canoeing, fishing and star gazing! The long driveway is a nice nature walk and there are plenty of games to entertain while indoors (no wifi or tv). There is also a fire-pit for roasting marshmellows and story-telling of course.

The Westcottage is a smartly designed 600 sqft space suitable for 4 adults or a small family. The living room, kitchen and seasonal Muskoka room are open concept. There are 3 small bedrooms (1 queen and 2 doubles), a 3 piece bathroom and an open loft space above (See photos).

Fully functional with a dishwasher and an efficient wood stove if needed (wood provided).

Enjoy the beautiful views as you lounge on a comfortable modern lazy boy couch. Or fall asleep to the peaceful sound of the lake.

Happy to answer any other questions you may have!

Dorset is only a 5 minute drive away. There you will find Robinson’s General Store where you can get groceries, toiletries and souvenirs. The LCBO, Scotiabank, Totoka Spa, Dorset Health Hub (clinic), and various dining options are also in town. The beautiful views up the Dorset Lookout Tower is also a major attraction.

The cottage is centrally located and half hour drive to touristy Bracebridge, Huntsville and Algonquin Park if you feel like treating yourself to a nice dinner, shopping or Moose watching!

My three friends and I loved our stay at the Westcottage! Very peaceful and picturesque. I would highly recommend it.

Everything you could wish for in a lakeside cottage - the ideal getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The Westcottage is a very cosy, well-equipped and comfortable little house set on an absolutely beautiful and tranquil location. The use of natural materials and nice design gives it a very homely atmosphere (our children loved playing on the attic). The lake view is stunning, you have your own dock and canoe, good fishing on the lake, great birdwatching and wildlife on your doorstep, campfires and awesome starry skies. The tiny village of Dorset is a short drive away and Algonquin NP is easily reached. We had a wonderful stay with our family of four. Highly recommended!
