Main floor has two queen bedrooms one with it's own private bath, another bath, a living room with wood fireplace and kitchen with seating for ten.
Upstairs has two bedrooms with two twin trundle beds each and a loft area with TV set up for video games/DVD's.There is also a futon.
The lower level is reached with a spiral staircase and has one king room, one queen bedroom with a bathroom. There is also a large living room downstairs big enough for ten plus people to enjoy a movie or sporting event with a 47' big screen TV (cable,DVD) and wet bar.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all comforts of home, everything needed to make even holiday dinners.
All beds have down comforters and individual heat control with all but the twin rooms having ceiling fans.
There is a 32'' TV in upstairs living room with cable TV, DVD and wireless internet.
The deck area includes a gas grill and seating for twelve people to eat. In the warmer months we keep a hammock on the covered lower deck.
We are located on a small street with only 3 other houses, so it is really quiet and almost no traffic.
My husband and I bought this property because we love the mountains and love to ski. It was a plus that our kids love to ski too. We thought that renting it out would be a good way to share it with family and friends and hopefully make new friends. It is an investment but something we love. We are limited in our vacation time and with 5 kids free time is at a minimum. We currently live in South Carolina but have lived up and down the East Coast.
Lisa Hubbart purchased this cabin in 2012
I feel that our house is unique that you get more bang for the buck. There is enough room for everybody to spread out but at the same time we have large areas for everybody to hang out together. It's not really fancy but very comfortable and furnished in a cabin type theme. We really want your family to enjoy their time together at our home.
Because we are on top of Beech Mtn we usually have a better chance of snow. Since we are so close to town that means less drive time to slopes and restaurants and more time relaxing after a day of skiing.
We saw that the property was listed as available for a chosen time frame in July. When we asked for a detailed quote, we received a price, and were told it was available. I sent a message asking what we needed to do to book, and got no response. Then sent another message a few days later asking if it was still available. When we finally got response to that, we were told it was not available, because they were going to be doing renovations this Spring and Summer. Very disappointed that there was no mention of that in the VRBO listing, and not even when we requested the detailed quote. I will be steering clear of this owner.
Even though the snow let us down this year, we still had a blast! The cabin was a little smaller than we had expected as shown in the pictures, but it was very comfortable none the less! We were 2 families PLUS, which included in-laws, niece and family wannabe's (daughter's boyfriend), for a total of 13 adults! The cabin seemed to originally be two separate places (downstairs with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and living room, which was connected via a spiral staircase to the upstairs, which has the kitchen and other bedrooms/bathrooms. Overall very cozy and nice. Unfortunately, it lacks a "snow" button... We only got snow one day :(
We all had a great time-we came from N.C.,Florida and Massachusetts! Some had never visited this part of the country! We had a great time skiing all day-with a 2 minute ride to the house! It was so comfortable after being out all day-we never ate out-we cooked all our meals and relaxed watching the olympics! And the kids had the loft and upstairs to themselves! The kitchen was well equipped,3 bathrooms was sufficient, the WiFi was greatly appreciated-all in all-it was a perfect vacation home-and very affordable! We had 4 families with ages 6 yrs to 75 yrs. The house is great with a good number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The steps (basement to first and first to second) are steep but manageable. It's close enough to the resort for convenient drop off and pick up. It had snowed before we arrived and while we were there. Maple Lane is steep and 4 wheel drive was helpful. One front wheel drive only made it ok but a back wheel drive only had trouble.
Great Cabin, with great amenaties. We got some great snow, and some of us walked to the slopes, while the rest just stayed in an enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin. When we arrived at the cabin on the first day, there were several deer on the property. The kids had a great time sledding down the hill right in the front yard. This cabin will be at the top of our list when we go to Beech Mountain again.
We had a fun time at the cabin! We were 4 families with kids and everything worked out great. The cabin is like its shown in the pics.

I can't forget 'Fast Eddie's' another personal favorite known for authentic Chicago dogs and ever changing large selection of imported beers, also adding accustical music this winter in their new lounge within 5 min of the house (you could even walk home).
My husband's favorite thing to do is to sit on the deck in the evening looking at the stars. Of course the deer are regular visitors to our yard and we seem to have a resident skunk you may get lucky to see. He seems to only come out late at night and is bigger then a small dog. We haven't spooked him yet, just beware if you scare him, you may smell him for days.
