The minute you walk into this custom home, you experience the architect’s objective of enjoying the magnificent water views. You can see Lake Ceitus just beyond the large swimming pool as you enter the front door because of the open floor plan and expansive windows. Every room's windows and doors are designed to maximize the spectacular lake views. The rear of the property, including the lanai and pool area, face south so you can be assured of receiving plenty of sunshine. Cape Coral typically receives 335 days of sunshine every year. At times dolphins and manatees can be observed swimming the area. There is about 4000 total covered square feet, 2300 with A/C, a large pool and a boat dock. You are less than 10 minutes to open water and great fishing or you can fish right from the dock.
Features: Villa Del Lago offers a split floor plan with a large master bedroom featuring a king size bed, sliding glass doors to the lanai and large windows with a pool and water view. There is a connected bathroom with a deep tub, dual pedestal sinks and a large shower that is handicap accessible. The other bathroom also has a deep tub, shower and pedestal sink. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and a large window with a killer view of the lake. The third bedroom has a queen bed. Wifi is available for your phone and computer. There is a 60 inch flat panel TV with cable HD programming and a DVD player. The kitchen has thick granite counters and is very well equipped with everything needed for a perfect vacation. The kitchen sink and counter face the great room and a large arched window so you can enjoy the view or watch TV while cooking. There is crown molding with vaulted ceilings and some chair rail. The floors consist of either hardwood, capet or tile. This property sits on a quarter acre, has a 2 car garage and is nicely landscaped.
Shopping and Dining: Pine Island is just 7 miles away where you can find some local restaurants boasting a variety of sea foods. The Tropicaya fruit stand/market sells fresh fruits, herbs, vegetables, newspapers, homemade mango preserves, ice cream and souvenirs and is only a 3 minute drive away. Try their homemade key lime pie!
Cape Coral: Cape Coral is located in Southwest Florida and is well situated for visiting nearby Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Naples, and only a couple of hours to Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Cape Coral is served by Southwest International Airport (RSW) which is about 30 minutes away. I find it is usually cheaper to fly into Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and make the drive across the everglades on alligator alley. Cape Coral is called “America’s Venice” for good reason. It's paradise for boating enthusiasts with over 400 miles of canals and access to the Gulf of Mexico. Take the boat to the some of the world's most beautiful beaches like Bonita Beach, Captiva Island, Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, where you can enjoy the sun and watch wild dolphins play.
Recreation: The boat dock can be used by guests to park a rental boat.
Joe Stonis Park is 1 mile away from Villa Del Lago. The park features a fitness trail, lighted tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, two playgrounds and a one-acre lake.
Jim Jeffers Park is 1.5 miles from Villa Del Lago. Amenities Include: A mega structure playground, soccer and softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, a 3-acre lake, walking paths.
Kayaks and canoes can be rented from Gulf Coast Kayaks in Matlacha, 3 miles away. They offer daily tours of the Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve, a Sunset Birding Tour or a romantic Moonlight Matlacha kayak cruise when there is a full moon.
Beaches: There are beautiful beaches in the Cape Coral area. Cape Coral Beach is a small charming beach that is only 20 minutes from the house. There is Fort Myers Beach that is many miles long, has shops and restaurants and is the full beach experience. It is about 45 minutes away. If you prefer unspoiled beaches, take the ferry to Cayo Costa State Park Island and you will have miles of beach all to yourself. We provide beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler.
My name is Todd and I have lived in Denver, Colorado my entire life. I have worked for Denver Fire Department for nearly 33 years now. I have a few years left till I retire at which time I hope to escape our cold winters and live in this beautiful home. Until then, I want to open my home with it's gorgeous views for others to enjoy.
Todd purchased this house in 2012
I looked at a lot of homes in the Cape Coral area but when I walked into the Villa Del Lago, I immediately fell in love with the views and the fact that you can experience them from almost every room. Also, close proximity to the open water was a must. So many homes have a narrow canal and very few are actually on one of the lakes that lead to the Gulf. There are a lot of beautiful homes in Cape Coral but very few have these kind of views. You can update a home but you can't change the view. The previous owners sold me on this home by just sitting in the great room and watching the fish jump in the lake through the expansive windows. I could picture myself doing that while relaxing with a book or my laptop.
This area of Cape Coral is newer and more secluded than other areas, yet close enough to shopping and restaurants. You can climb in one of the supplied kayaks and cruise around the lake or go to one of the close wildlife preserve area just a few minutes away.
Quiet location Northwest of Cape Coral. Very close to Matlacha and Pine Island. Also close to Barrier Islands by boat, but a bit of a drive on land. House is well equipped, comfortable, and affords great vistas at the back of the home. Grocery and pharmacy stores are very close and general shopping not much further. Be advised that this home is on a well and the water is salty, high in minerals and can have a Sulphur odor during periods of high usage. We drank bottled water, limited the amount of well use and were fine.We have booked for the same time next year.
Fort Myers Beach for an active beach experience, Sanibel for shelling, Captiva for natural beauty. Boca Grande is a great place to visit and also has great beaches with less crowds. Check out historic Ft. Myers and also the Matlacha/Pine Island art community.
We had the best time . Everything was perfect. The house had beautiful furniture and everything we needed was provided. It was the best vacation we ever had . We have stayed in Florida for the last 4 years on vacation and this property was our favorite. The owner was very helpful and kind. We felt so lucky to have been able to vacation here. A truly fantastic property.
We just spent 10 days in the most perfect home in Cape Coral! It's not far from the airport, and in a lovely neighborhood. When we walked in, the place was very clean and decorated beautifully. The 3 bedrooms are great sizes, and the living areas are wonderful. The pull out couch had a very comfortable mattress, which we used because we had a large group. The view can't be beat, as the back side of the house faces the canal, where we saw Manatee, flying fish, turtles, and birds. The best part for us, was the screened in pool right outside the kitchen. The lounge chairs were comfortable and the water was always warm. Outside of the pool, we walked about 10 steps to the private Tiki Bar with our lawn chairs, and enjoyed sitting on the dock right on the water. A few days we did venture out to the nearest beaches (about a 30 min drive) and they were nice as well. We ate at a few great restaurants nearby, but chose to stay home and cook in the gourmet kitchen most of the time. It's COMPLETE, from a great coffee maker to the crock pot and roasting pan, and everything needed in-between. We want to return again someday!
This home is fantastic, clean, beautiful furnishings, everything you would need in the way of kitchen, bedding, even good books to read! TV and Internet worked without a hitch and we enjoyed having two bedrooms with televisions plus the family room. We spent most of our time in the pool or on the lanai watching the manatee and enjoying the fantastic 75-80 degree weather. We had no problems at all and dealing with the owner was like making a new friend a kind and caring person. I hope to return soon.
I recently vacationed in this beautiful home for a week, along with 3 girlfriends, and we all absolutely loved our stay there! The home is very comfortable, 3 bedrooms (including a large master suite with pool and patio access), 2 baths, a/c, a large great room (with big screen tv) and open kitchen, in a nice and quiet neighborhood, with lots of windows and stunning water views from all of the rooms. I don't think the photos did justice to just how nice and spacious this gorgeous home really is! Our favorite space was the large, private, screened-in pool and patio area--which is where we spent most of our time gazing at the canal water view, boat dock (complete with tiki hut), and we saw fish and an occasional manatee emerge in the water! There was a kayak and paddle boards available for our use, but we were content to lie on our lounge chairs by the pool. The property was very clean, well maintained, updated and decorated very nicely...nice big laundry room available to us, and the kitchen was huge with everything you could possibly need during your stay there. Grocery stores, restaurants, shopping all close by, with easy access. The Ft. Myers Airport (we flew into) was only about 30 minutes away as well, and many beaches and harbor areas were nearby. This property is the perfect location for your Florida vacation. My friends and I can't wait to come back here again...and we plan to make it an annual event!
Oh my! I was so pleasantly taken back by the true beauty of this place! From the moment you walk into the home...you feel the welcoming invitation that you are there to relax, rejuvenate, and ENJOY! When I entered the spacious and well-equipped kitchen; I could see from both sides of the great room windows... the show-stopping views of the pool and waterfront tiki hut....I knew I was right were I needed to be...in a "Slice of Paradise"! A real retreat! I didn't want to leave. Outstanding in cleanliness and provisions. I did the trip with 4 of us girlfriends. So fun enjoying our morning coffee @ the waterfront tiki bar, LOVED the full size pool with comfy lawnchairs and table with chairs by poolside to enjoy meals outdoors too. The big screen television in the great room was perfect for our "movie nights!" Not to mention that the bedrooms also include their own comfy beds/bedding with television viewing also available. This retreat home was in a lovely, friendly community that made it nice to enjoy our morning walks too. I had a FABULOUS time and will be returning to this "Slice of Paradise" with family and friends AGAIN and AGAIN! I HIGHLY recommend this vacation home to couples, families, friends, retirees, celebrations....anything that will allow one to ENJOY LIFE! With much gratitude...I so appreciated my time Todd!
