About Katrina

We travel back and forth to Pagosa from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Katrina works as a midwife at the University of New Mexico, and Peter is the director of a non-profit. We have one dog child (a lab-chow mix), who loves Pagosa, especially chasing deer around the property.

Katrina purchased this house in 2012

Why Katrina chose Southwestern Colorado

We enjoyed our frequent trips to Pagosa to ski, soak in the springs, and listen to music at the festivals that we decided to buy a home here. We fell in love with this house the moment we saw it. During the day, the peaceful views of the meadow can be enjoyed from the expansive porch. At night, we often watch the shooting stars flare across the sky, and enjoy dinners, laughter, and making music with friends we host at the house. We love to cook and grill, so the kitchen reflects our desire to have everything needed for the perfect meal.

What makes this house unique

The location is perfect - it feels remote, yet town is right around the bend, hidden out of site. There are so many fun things to do in Pagosa - skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, playing in the river, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, golfing, soaking in the hot springs, music festivals, and more!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Absolutely beautiful house in a beautiful area with great views. Very close to downtown as well. Came with large group and had a great time. Lots of space with a good amount of yard between neighbors as well (Never worried about noise levels). Would definitely recommend for families or groups of friends. Thanks!

Green/Vose Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I sent something a couple of days ago but here it goes again. The house was perfect for our needs. The house was well equipped and easy to get to and very convenient to all restaurants and grocery stores. The view is great and we saw a lot of wildlife. Saw a buck 5 feet from the front porch. All may granddaughters learned how to ski. The big shower was a big hit for all the girls. It was great.

Perfect place for a family

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family to stay. We had 9 people and a dog in total staying at the house and had plenty of room for more. Our family that lives in town also came over for dinner several nights and the large dining table allowed us to all be able to sit down together and enjoy a big family meal, which was great. It had plenty of room both inside and out for our kids to play and have fun. It was just an all around great place and we cant wait to come back!

Great Place to Stay Gets Better Every Time!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at Split Pine Cabin a few different times, and have had a great time each time we've stayed. The cabin is a short drive to downtown Pagosa and the different springs Pagosa has to offer. We love the spacious and comfortable environment of the cabin. The deck facing south, looking into the valley and pastures below is gorgeous. The new mudroom that has been added since we've stayed last works perfectly for dusting off snow after a great day of skiing. We highly recommend Split Pine Cabin!

Love Split Pine

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to stay at this cabin and we had a wonderful experience again! The snow and cabin were both perfect. I love that you feel like you're out in the country, but then you have a very convenient drive to downtown Pagosa; it's the best of both worlds. The owner's are very accommodating and easy to work with. We hope to stay here again next year!

Loved the home not the hot water heater

  • 4 of 5

The house was awesome and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had a group of 11 6 were small children, and the house was a perfect fit, however as great as the house was the HOT WATER heater does not support the house well. We paced our showers out but about 4-5 people a day got a hot shower the others were lukewarm or just plain cold😞򗠠We loved everything about the property except the hot water issue and we would choose this home again! Just needs a bigger hot water heater😊򒠽򒨊😊򒠽򒨊😊򒠽򒨊

Split Pine Cabin used as Hunting Base Camp

  • 4 of 5

Our group used the Split Pine Cabin as our Hunting Base Camp for Colorado's 3rd season in November-2016. There were seven adults in our group and there was plenty of room, beds etc, for everyone. The location was great with everything we needed nearby in Pagosa Springs. Plenty of public land for hunting or whatever in every direction and nearby too. Saw deer ever day from the cabin....some in the yard! Why would anyone stay in a motel?
