Welcome to our ranch style home in SE Portland just South of Mt. Tabor on a quiet, tree-lined street with plenty of parking.
Recent testimonial: 'We spent a wonderful weekend at this house. The place is very clean. There were 4 of us staying at this place and we had everything we needed. There were plenty of parking space and the neighborhood is very safe. But we didn't need the car that much as the bus service is awesome in Portland and we were able to get to downtown and back late at night.' Mikhail K

The washer and dryer are in the downstairs section of the house. You are free to use them;. The first load is free, then it's $10 a load, and that includes the detergent. You may have to speak with John (owner) and give notice to get access to the downstairs.
I've been successfully renting this property for 4 years now. I can help orient you to the city and the best places to visit while you are here.
In the living room there's a whole basket full of maps and coupons and reviews of places to visit and see around Portland and the rest of the state. It's an easy drive from my home to the beach, Mt. Hood, or the Columbia Gorge.
Here are some testimonials from folks who have been here recently:
'John was the consummate host! He welcomed us with a bottle of wine, a piece of chocolate (dark!) and bottle of water on every bed. He was very easy to get in touch with about any questions. Parking is very easy in the neighborhood. The house is near a lively and dynamic part of town with incredible restaurants and vintage shopping. I would definitely recommend staying here'. Ali S.

I live in SE Portland. I've been here since 1998. Having lived in New York City and LA my whole life, Portland is the perfect sized town. I am a massage therapist, and CEO of an Online Health Network,
John William Johnson purchased this house in 1998
Quiet, spacious, comfortable, all the amenities, the owner has been offering the space to people like you for 4 years now and knows what it takes to keep you happy and well supplied. Quintessential "Portlandia" neighborhood, lots of walking and biking to nearby businesses and attractions, friendly neighbors, and convenient location to many nearby natural attractions like the coast and mountains.
Spacious, well located, easy walk up Mt. Tabor, easy access to public transportation, owner loves to help out with helping you access whatever resources you need to make your stay enjoyable.
The owner is a massage therapist. There are professional electrical massagers, physioballs, and exercise equipment available throughout the house for you to use at your leisure.
All the beds are very comfie, with high thread count sheets to assure you a luxurious, deep, and comfortable sleep.
There are coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, and easy access to public transportation, which runs every 5 to 15 minutes.
John helped us out on the very fly which was amazing. He went above and beyond. He was so accommodating and his house was beautiful. Thank you John!
Shared this home my family from Vermont and this was a perfect place to spend time at Thanksgiving together! Quiet clean comfortable with EVER amentity you need ....even a yoga mat!
Close to everything in Portland with the great public trans ! Close to bars and restaurants with a gourmet Seasons Market close by!
Bella offers a perfect place and I would not consider any other place !!
We enjoyed our stay. The owner takes good care of the house and it was very clean, dry and warm. Each room was set up for our arrival (nice touches like guest towels on all beds) with travel information on the coffee table and a pile of toys for kids. The deck looked inviting though we did not use it due to the rainstorms. It is close to parks and has easy access to other neighborhoods of Portland. Although there was no house information binder, the owner was easily accessible by telephone and email. I highly recommend this house as a very comfortable place to stay while visiting Portland. A
Host provided excellent personal attention to my family's needs. We loved the homey atmosphere and close access to downtown, zoo, and OMSI. The neighborhood is quiet and the backyard is lovely. My children especially enjoyed provided board games, books, and HDTV with sound system.
This place is exceptionally clean, comfortable and interesting. There is a pleasant deck and backyard. Six of us (3 couples) stayed in the upstairs section without feeling crowded. I recommend this place highly.
One note - there are are a couple of cats that apparently come with the house that wander through now and then. They were no problem and are mentioned in the description, but don't take this house if this would bother you.
The place was clean, comfortable, and a short bus ride (or good walk) from all the shops, restaurants, and bars on Division and Hawthorne. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a great tour of the place. The only downside was the hot tub was out of order... I would definitely stay here again!
My husband and his mother stayed at this location for a week. The pictures and description of the house were spot on. The house is immaculate and well maintained. They had the good fortune of meeting John, the owner, and liked him very much. John is well traveled and has a lot of art and reading material available. The furnishing were very comfortable, especially the beds. It should be noted that there are people living/working in another part of the house which means there is a consideration of noise level. For example, no shoes can be worn in the house. It's all beautiful hard wood floors. This no-shoes policy was difficult for my 88 year old mother-in-law and my 13 month old grandson who was just learning to walk. We would definitely consider renting from John again in the future.
