This very private and romantic oceanfront Mendocino home is a spacious split-level set as close to the ocean as possible so as to take full advantage of the dramatic setting. The soothing sounds of the ocean waves rolling in and crashing against the rocks below will make you feel like you are on your own private island.
This gem of a house has romantic, private, and truly million dollar expansive views of the ocean from every room. The view through the French doors is truly breathtaking. A wrought iron spiral staircase ascends to the upstairs oversized King bed. The fireplace also has an amazing view of the ocean. The night time sky reveals a starry sky unpolluted by city lights.
The hot tub on the deck outside is a great spot for sipping local wines while watching the whales and seals play in the ocean. This, one of a kind house is an ideal getaway for a honeymoon, anniversary, or that much needed and deserved time off.
This home is close driving distance to the village of Mendocino, Fort Bragg, Point Arena as well as the renowned Anderson Valley wine country.
You will understand why guests call this home 'Desire' and why they all tell us they will be back next year!
Because of the proximity of the ocean bluffs, children and pets are not permitted.
Thank You for allowing us to stay in your vacation home! It was gorgeous! Great views, private, proximity to Mendocino, whale watching, etc…. I can guarantee you that we will be back when we need to get away to the coast again…….hopefully sooner, than later………..
Over the years we have used many vacation rentals to explore the West Coast, from San Francisco to the Olympic Peninsula. "Desire" is on our top 5 list. A well cared for, and appointed unit. "Full kitchen" was full, Bed was very comfortable (would you mind giving us the info on who makes the mattress, we want one) Usually the first day we go on a nice long hike. Our first day here We hiked from the living room to the deck to watch the weather change from stormy to sunny and back again. True privacy with a great view of the Mendocino Coast. You could hear cars crossing the bridge on Highway One, but they were no competition for the sound of the surf and the view of the coast. Seriously, who made that mattress?
This was our second stay. This time we stayed a day longer and it still wasn't enough!
We left the house for 2 hours to visit the beach and periodically to walk the neighborhood. Other than that, there was no reason to leave paradise!
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway in September and absolutely loved it. Quiet and relaxing with a gorgeous coastal view. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
A daylight filled ocean front house. It had our top priorities for an ocean front vacation: an ocean view deck immediately outside the living room, a cozy living room with gas fireplace, a hot tub with view, a quiet private setting, and a full kitchen for preparing our own meals. We would stay again and would recommend to a couple looking for a North Coast getaway.
(A note to future visitors is that the gas fireplace is fully automatic and controlled from the thermostat next to front door foyer on the left wall.)
For a stark change from the Pacific Coast visit the Van Damme State Park Pygmy Forest at the very East end of the park!
This property is just as pictured. It's clean and comfortable with everything needed for a restful stay. It is right on a small cove with beautiful ocean/sunset views. Dealing with the owner was straightforward and a pleasure. One thing to note, the property is not far from the highway, so there is some traffic noise from vehicles crossing the bridge nearby, but the location is still very private and secluded. We loved our stay and recommend.
The home is perfectly located with a spectacular view, privacy, a secure/gated entry and is close to everything but far enough away to make you feel like you are the only one around. The photos don't do it justice. The home has everything you need for your stay and is very comfortable, the amenities are as described and more than sufficient. Lots of light, beautiful views, relaxing outdoor spaces and a very comfortable bed. If you like nature, you will appreciate the bird watching, the wild flowers, the trees and natural beauty of the landscape just outside your door. If you enjoy the beach and hiking, the state parks are minutes away, easy to hike and full of amazing things to discover and enjoy. The owner and housekeeper were great to work with and thought of everything. The jacuzzi was always hot, well maintained and has an incredible view of the ocean, the home was very clean, well stocked and cared for. With one huge loft/bedroom, the home is just the right size for one person or a small family. I had a wonderful time in Mendocino and recommend this home if you are planing a trip on the California Coast.
