There are 1 - 1/2 baths and an eat-in kitchen. This fully furnished home has an ecletic display of paintings and prints throughout the home. Enjoy your breakfast on one of the two decks. Additional brick patio with arbor and deck overlooking city, nice place to have wine or dinner. Please ck VRBO Downtown Lynchburg Historic Home for my other rental if this is booked.

Mark purchased this house in 2012
Downtown Historic home; walking distance to local rest and shopping. This downtown Historic House dates back 200 years and the Daimond Hill area is full of Historic Houses for the afternoon walk.
Private garden with elegant landscaping for your enjoyment. The house is 200 yrs old and has a deck over looking the city night lights from the rear of the yard. Also you have two decks off of the Kitchen that is private. The back yard is also private, with a fence in yard.
We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean and tidy, and the owners checked in to ensure everything was working well. The outdoor spaces were lovely - nice front porch and a peaceful back deck overlooking beautiful gardens. Highly recommended!
Our family stayed for 2 weeks in June 2015. The house was VERY CLEAN, TASTEFULLY DECORATED, and FIRST CLASS in every way! Mark was such an easy person to work with and very helpful with any questions that we had. The backyard was a fantastic oasis! We'll definitely miss the view from the back deck. I could say nothing negative about our experience and we hope to return in the future. Choosing this house could only make your stay in Virginia even more enjoyable!
I was in town for an Intensive at Liberty and decided to rent a house as opposed to my usual hotel accommodations. I could not have made a better choice. This house provided me and my family that included three little ones, with just the right touch of home while being away. The home was well stocked with everything you could possibly need and the fenced in backyard was beautiful with plenty of shade and seating options. The neighborhood was quiet and very diverse. We went on many walks and felt safe and the location was not too far from anywhere we needed to go. The owner, from the beginning was prompt with email replies and made himself available during our stay. I will definitely return to this home if I am in Lynchburg again.
This was a beautiful place to stay for me and my parents! Thank you, Mark!
This home was a great choice for our family of 5. Much more space and a wonderful environment as compared to a hotel room. Very quiet neighborhood with lots of historic homes nearby. A short walk to downtown Lynchburg. The house is clean and welcoming. We feel safe here as well. The owner, Mark, has been responsive and accommodating. We have already recommended to friends and will likely stay again.
We stayed in this home for 2 nights during Liberty Homecoming weekend. The home was a good distance from the school and was easily accessible by the highway which made accessing the university easy. It was also close to downtown which unfortunately we did not have time to visit but in passing through seemed liked a great place to shop and dine.
Initially I was not completely satisfied with how the arrangement of the rental was handled as I am so use to immediate ability to pay and receive copies of the signed contract. Mark only accepts mailed checks and did not mail back a signed copy of the rental agreement. Also the blank rental agreement that was emailed to me was not filled out and I had to figure out myself what to fill in. I did not feel that was professional. I was told the signed rental agreement would be provided at check-in but we never received it. I would like to see Mark utilize more convenient methods of payment and provide the contract via email. That would be only "complaint" about this owner. I think he just prefers old school methods. I will say that Mark was a gracious host. He greeted us when we arrived and checked on us throughout our stay. He was never overbearing but was present enough that if we needed him, he was available and seen. I had to call him for information and he responded immediately and swiftly and offered his availability to us at all times.
As far as the home, Mark has made impressive renovations to a historic home. There is even history on the home that is offered for reading during our stay. The home is charming yet has up to date amenities and appliances. The backyard is AMAZING! I wish we had more time to utilize it. The bed in the larger bedroom was not to our liking but that may just be a personal preference. It is soft and tends to tilt upward at the feet. We prefer a firmer bed so we had difficulty sleeping well on this bed. Again, it may just be a personal preference. The other bedroom had a firmer bed. The bedrooms do not offer televisions but we actually liked that. We barely watched any television during our stay. There were games available which was a nice feature and we enjoyed some family time playing games rather than watching television. There are also several cats around the premises. If you have allergies it may be a concern but we loved the cats.
Overall we were pleased with the home. We recommend more convenient methods for payment and receiving the contract.
