Our Guests are often surprised at the private and peaceful garden they find behind the secure gates of this Hillsboro Sanctuary. Even though we are just blocks from downtown Hillsboro, you will love the relaxing atmosphere we have created. We feature a goldfish pond, a 2 Person outdoor jacuzzi and a fire-pit right outside our covered patio door! Inside you will find all the amenities of home: two cozy bedrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, wi-fi and a fireplace. Our guests may even book a massage from Andea or Dennis, the Owners, who may live on the Property if they're not traveling. Guests may also enjoy watching our beautiful Chickens. The Garden has a meditation area and is a perfect place for you to relax with a good book. If you seek Quiet in the middle of town you will find it in our Urban Oasis.
Please note our home is not suitable for young children.
Also note, although you may book online, VRBO charges you a fee for that. Save money by just sending us your inquiry and wait for our prompt reply. I will reply within 24 hours, get you a written Rental Agreement to review, take all your questions, and make your stay, and your enjoyment, our priority.
Dennis & Andrea
Dennis and I have created an oasis in which you will feel peaceful and relaxed. We are both Massage Therapists and everything here is created to make you feel comfortable and welcome. We both like to travel and want to be on the road a lot in 2014. We enjoy Yoga, the Outdoors, Gardening, Animals, Meditating and love to spend time with our two Aussie Shephards & our Friends.
If we are not traveling, we stay in our RV on the big driveway or in our Portland House. Our massage studio and office are in the remodeled garages and are accessed by separate entrances. We may use these spaces and the half-bath in the laundry room space as well. Of course we are very mindful and respectful of your privacy.
We are always happy to assist you if you have questions. You may even want to schedule a massage with us!
Andrea Trautwein purchased this house in 1995
Our House is a great place to stay as you are close to Portland, an hour away from Mt. Hood and the amazing Columbia River Gorge and only an hour away from the beautiful Oregon Coast and the hidden Gems of the Oregon Wine Country.
Quiet and friendly. Great Neighborhood. Close to Light Rail Public Transit, which connects you to the Heart of Portland and the Portland International Airport. A place to relax and get away or a base from which to explore NW Oregon.
My wife and I and adult daughter stayed a week. It was in October and rainy most of the week so we could not enjoy the absolutely lovely garden but we did very much enjoy the house. The hosts are a pleasure to deal with and very responsive. I can personally attest that Andrea is a terrific massage therapist. We all agreed that we would definitely consider staying there again when we next visit the area.
My husband and I had a very nice stay at this little gem of a house. Price was absolutely right, and we regret that we couldn't spend much time in the delightful back yard, but as we were visiting family in the area, we spend most of the time with them. But so nice to return to a very nice home. The owners are very hospitable, bed very comfortable. I would definitely stay in this VRBO home again.
My husband and I arrived early from the airport and the owner's were kind enough to meet us there and allow us to store our suitcases although they really weren't quite ready for us. The home is so very comfortable! We had our family including: Mother, brother and wife, niece and husband, sister and boyfriend plus the two of us and we were very happy and comfortable in the living room sharing a bottle of wine before we went out for dinner. The kitchen has EVERYTHING. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated being able to do laundry. And, I haven't even begun to rave about the back yard. We highly recommend this VRBO.
We were lucky enough to spend six weeks in this delightful home. Indeed, it felt like home – very cozy. The kitchen is a serious cooking kitchen and we enjoyed taking most of our meals outside in the gorgeous garden. The pictures don’t do justice to the garden! There were always several flowers blooming and the owners generously shared the many delicious fruits, herbs, vegetables and, of course, the freshly laid eggs. An added bonus is the short walk to the MAX transit line. We were able to explore Portland while staying in a gorgeous garden. We’re looking forward to our return visit.
The owners bent over backwards to make our stay more comfortable. We needed a place while we waited for our home to close escrow. It took 6 weeks, First night, oh no a pond, we have a Lab, they came by the next day and put up a fence how awesome is that. Only place that would welcome 2 big dogs and engaged them every time they came by. They have chickens, fresh eggs when they are laying, we had one breakfast, best tasting eggs this city girl has ever eaten. I would like to think we made some new friends. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you so much for making our move to Oregon so much easier, Jackson and Sadie thank you too!
We spent 11 days in this cute little house, which was a wonderful location for us, as our daughter & grandson lived 2 miles away. It is in a lovely, quiet, safe area, nice for walks, close to grocery stores & restaurants. We would have loved to see the garden in summer, as could tell how nice it would be. The house was cozy, clean & everything we needed for cooking was provided. We will try to stay again. The owners were very friendly & helpful.
