This historic classic Charleston home is located on the peninsula, at the corner of Rutledge and Spring putting guests within walking distance of all the best shops, restaurants and attractions Charleston has to offer. The home features original hardwood floors throughout with touches of exposed brick, a comfortable private porch, and sleeps up to eight guests. When entering the home, guests will be in the very spacious living room that offers seating for seven guests, and a couch that is a pull-out sleeper sofa. The living room has a beautiful fireplace, a flat screen TV, and large windows that let in a lot of natural light brightening the room. The full kitchen is just off the living room and comes with everything you need for a night in. There is also a dining room that offers seating for up to six guests. The fully-furnished, fully-renovated home's master bedroom offers a king bed complete with a fireplace, and private bathroom with a claw foot tub. The second, full bathroom is also located just off the living room and the Two additional bedrooms are located at the back of the home with one offering a queen bed, while the other includes two twin beds. Simple, quaint, captures the essence of Charleston

We stayed for a bachelorette party this past weekend and had an absolute blast. Everyone slept comfortably (one was a little uncomfortable on the pullout couch) but otherwise slept fine. It was very cozy and inviting and had so much charm. Within walking distance to King Street and many of the downtown attractions. I would absolutely stay here again!

The property was perfect for us. The house is old, that's what gives it charm.

The house was clean, we had no problems with parking and walked to dinner and shopping. It was really convenient to get to The Citadel, which was why we were there. We had a little scare the first morning we were there with the oven and help was on the scene in minutes! The beds were extremely comfortable and we had a great time while celebrating with our son for Ring Weekend. Also, our other son left behind a sentimental personal item and housekeeping returned it to the office and he was able to get it back.

We cannot. recommend this home for a vacation. We were very disappointed

We have rented homes for vacations many times in the past. Do not be fooled by the pictures. They are not current. The furnishings are different. The home was not clean. We contacted Home Away, but our issues were not dealt with until a few days after checking out. They did refund our cleaning fee. Here are the negatives we experienced. When the upstairs renters had their car parked, we barely had room to park our car, making backing out almost impossible. There was a chair in the living room that looked like someone had spit up on it. I poured water in my coffee cup the first morning and drank some. Looked in it and saw it was dirty. Looked like it had remnants of someone's coffee in the bottom. Totally grossed out! The shower curtain, shower head and shelf for shampoo had mold and mildew on it. There is no furniture on the porch, so don't plan to sit outside. The trashcan in the kitchen had dirt and bugs covering the bottom. The throw pillows in the living room looked like they were found in a dumpster. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed and would not recommend this home to anyone.

Owner's Response: I am sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience. We have had 100's of guests stay in this rental over the years that we have been renting it and you are the first guest to ever have this many issues with this location. The driveway is a shared space and parking is very hard to come by in downtown Charleston. The ability for you to have a free parking space in downtown is a huge plus. Housekeeping did come over during your stay and could not find the "spit up" on any of the chairs in the living room. Last month we actually upgraded much of the furniture in the unit and that is why the pictures are not accurate. We threw out old furnishings and replaced them with new and nicer items. We are not done with our refresh of the property and do not want to pay for new professional photos until it is complete. Housekeeping also came by and checked for the mildew in the shower and on the shower head. They could not find any but they did re-clean the shower and the kitchen for you. We offered you a refund of your cleaning fee as a courtesy to you, despite the fact that we did not find any of your issues to be true. I am sorry you were so disappointed and hope that this did not spoil your vacation in Charleston.
