Originally from Gainesville, Ga. I purchased this property in 2007 as a place to go relax and stay six months out of the year. I recently got to married my wife and I have started a new chapter. We love this house so much that we wanted to share it with others. We come to relax and it feels like we are on vacation every time were are here. It is so peaceful, troubles seem to melt away. Our favorite time is coffee in the hot tub while the sun comes up.
Judd West purchased this house in 2007
This property has been in my family for over 60 years, I purchased the property from my mother in 2007 and I hope to keep it for years to come.
My favorite part of this property is the porch. The porch stretches across the front of the home and has two trees that I built the porch around, there is a seating area with a tv, hot tub, and eating area. You can see the river sitting in the hot tub!
We came to Dahlonega Ga. for a wedding in October. There were 6 adults. We loved the house. Everything was so nice and we especially noticed how clean it was. Everything you need to make your stay perfect was provided. Very well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, great hot tub, t.v. 's everywhere! The towns of Dahlonega and Helen were so cute! Would definitely recommend this charming house. Thanks to the owner and to the lady who cleaned....
My family and I certainly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain home. The home was attractively decorated, very clean and well-stocked with all the necessary items needed to make our 3 day stay comfortable. Although we ate out a good bit, we enjoyed grilling hamburgers on the deck while my husband watched the football game right there on the deck and my grandson enjoyed the hot tub. The beds in all of the bedrooms surpassed any that we have encountered in other rentals. The covered carport right next to the back door entrance made coming and going a cinch. My grandchildren enjoyed exploring the mountain stream across the road. The house was possibly a 20 minute drive from Dahlonega and Cleveland in opposite directions.I would suggest Dahlonega for dining out - many neat restaurants on the square. We took our granddaughter to Babyland General in Cleveland and she loved it. We then drove a short distance to Helen and had lunch in a German restaurant there. The owner was very prompt in answering any questions I had concerning his property. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a mountain getaway.
This house is in a very desirable location. It is close to Cleveland and a huge Ingles with a Star Bucks! It is very near Helen and Blairsville and many, many hiking trails. The house is in a very quiet location across the road from a creek, perfect for listening to the water while sitting on the large deck or in the spa on the deck.
The kitchen was well furnished with everything you need to prepare a meal. I really liked the counter/stools where everyone could sit and talk as the food was being prepared. The beds were very comfortable in all 3 bedrooms.
The only reason I did not give this place a 5 rating was because there was no washer and dryer. We had two grandsons with us and visited 4 waterfalls. You can imagine all the wet clothes we ended up with!
Overall, I would return to this house again.
I took my daughter and son-n-law to the Dahlonega property to get away and relax and it was every bit and more of that. The house was beautiful and well stocked beyond our imagination. it was located between Helen and Dahlonega so we weren't far from either, although it was a busy weekend with all the traffic. We really enjoyed the deck where we had coffee every morning and watched the news. My son-n-law took his motorcycle so he enjoyed watching all the motorcycles go by and he enjoyed riding to Helen. The house was very cool and comfortable and the owner was really easy to talk to and rent from. I hope that sometime in the fall to go back and this time maybe venture over to Boggs Creek.
This is a beautiful house, clean and nice inside big kitchen, nice fireplace. We had a good time here and would come back to. Good get away close to things we wanted to do. Really enjoyed the hot tub on the porch. Don M.
Well, I'm debating on if I want to tell the truth about this rental...or be selfish and keep this little secret for myself! lol We rented this cabin for R&R and we got just that. The place was just what we needed and furnished beyond what we expected from the overview. Most rentals have beds that do not allow for proper rest...NOT so here. We slept better here than in our own beds! (WOW...loved the memory foam beds!) The cabin is furnished with modern technology and provides you with a complete state of luxury...there was nothing we were in need of and, despite the fact that we brought ALL supplies that we would need, everything was provided. (Dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, plenty of towels & blankets...) The kitchen was stocked to the max, it even had an electric ice cream freezer, and had unbelievable amounts of counter space, two sinks and so much more. We loved the open floor plan and the outdoor porch! Oh, that porch...such a lovely place to rest and enjoy. Although we did not use the hot tub, we enjoyed sitting, reading, watching tv, napping and watching the creek from the porch. There is a great creek right across the street from the cabin and we did see fish! We discovered that the area had been stocked the day we arrived. The cabin driveway was well thought out...no problems with turning around, parking or getting to the carport. We enjoyed trips to Dahlonega and Helen while we stayed here and both are truly delightful. Dick's Creek is just around the corner and we really enjoyed this little piece of heaven! We tried to re-book the cabin (YES, we were that eager to return and enjoy it again!) but there was a double booking issue. The owner was very nice to deal with and didn't seem to mind when I called him directly. He also was incredibly prompt with returning calls, email or texts. I highly recommend this cabin for families, couples or anybody just wanting a relaxing escape and we look forward to visiting again!
