About Judd West

Originally from Gainesville, Ga. I purchased this property in 2007 as a place to go relax and stay six months out of the year. I recently got to married my wife and I have started a new chapter. We love this house so much that we wanted to share it with others. We come to relax and it feels like we are on vacation every time were are here. It is so peaceful, troubles seem to melt away. Our favorite time is coffee in the hot tub while the sun comes up.

Why Judd West chose North Georgia Mountains

This property has been in my family for over 60 years, I purchased the property from my mother in 2007 and I hope to keep it for years to come.

What makes this house unique

My favorite part of this property is the porch. The porch stretches across the front of the home and has two trees that I built the porch around, there is a seating area with a tv, hot tub, and eating area. You can see the river sitting in the hot tub!

Beautiful house and hot tub!

This is a beautiful house, clean and nice inside big kitchen, nice fireplace. We had a good time here and would come back to. Good get away close to things we wanted to do. Really enjoyed the hot tub on the porch. Don M.

5's a secret!

  • 5 of 5

Well, I'm debating on if I want to tell the truth about this rental...or be selfish and keep this little secret for myself! lol We rented this cabin for R&R and we got just that. The place was just what we needed and furnished beyond what we expected from the overview. Most rentals have beds that do not allow for proper rest...NOT so here. We slept better here than in our own beds! (WOW...loved the memory foam beds!) The cabin is furnished with modern technology and provides you with a complete state of luxury...there was nothing we were in need of and, despite the fact that we brought ALL supplies that we would need, everything was provided. (Dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, plenty of towels & blankets...) The kitchen was stocked to the max, it even had an electric ice cream freezer, and had unbelievable amounts of counter space, two sinks and so much more. We loved the open floor plan and the outdoor porch! Oh, that porch...such a lovely place to rest and enjoy. Although we did not use the hot tub, we enjoyed sitting, reading, watching tv, napping and watching the creek from the porch. There is a great creek right across the street from the cabin and we did see fish! We discovered that the area had been stocked the day we arrived. The cabin driveway was well thought problems with turning around, parking or getting to the carport. We enjoyed trips to Dahlonega and Helen while we stayed here and both are truly delightful. Dick's Creek is just around the corner and we really enjoyed this little piece of heaven! We tried to re-book the cabin (YES, we were that eager to return and enjoy it again!) but there was a double booking issue. The owner was very nice to deal with and didn't seem to mind when I called him directly. He also was incredibly prompt with returning calls, email or texts. I highly recommend this cabin for families, couples or anybody just wanting a relaxing escape and we look forward to visiting again!

Great Mountain Home.

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed this mountain home. The covered deck with hot tub and TV was perfect. Close to many trails and water falls. Boggs creek is across the road from the home. I watched from the deck fisherman catching numerous trout. The only draw back from this home is the was not a washer and dryer. I still give 5 stars because of how comfortable this home was.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

A cozy house within a day's drive of southwest Florida. Close to shopping and local attractions (Georgia Wine Highway, University of North Georgia, Chattahoochee National Forest). On a major, but not busy, connector road. The decor is modern and sophisticated with just the right amount of rustic touches. The home was immaculate and the kitchen is well equipped. Access and safety were considered with the design of the drive, turn-around areas, and covered parking. The porch is definitely the biggest asset. We enjoyed morning coffee, afternoon naps, and evening conversation, in addition to time in the hot tub, all while listening to the sounds of the rambling creek. The gas log fireplace provides just the right amount of indoor ambiance. Making reservations was easy and the owner was delightful, insuring all our needs were met. I am ready to return to the serenity of this property.

Cozy, charming mountain home; will definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this mountain home for 10 days and 9 nights and we couldn't have been more pleased! The owner was very responsive to any questions and a real pleasure to speak with. The photos of the house don't do it justice; the rooms are very spacious, furnishings very up to date and everything very clean. We especially loved the fact that whoever was cooking in the kitchen was involved in any conversation going on in the living room... due to the open floor plan/bar area we were all able to hang out together. The kitchen was also stocked very well with pots and pans and appliances needed for cooking. The location was perfect for us... far enough away from the noise of any cities but within a 10-20 minute drive from Cleveland, Helen and Dahlonega. There are plenty of different places within a short drive to go fishing (as we did) or shopping in the quaint village of Helen. The porch is awesome: table and chairs for lounging and hot tub for relaxing, all with a great view of the stream out front! Breakfast at Turner's Corner Cafe is a must, wonderful people and great food. Really cannot say enough about the house and it's owners, thanks for making it a great Christmas getaway for my family and I!
