After falling totally in love with lakefront living at our log home on Moosehead, but feeling the need for a property closer to our southern Maine home and work that our grown children would hopefully visit more often, we started our search for another camp in the Sebago/Long lake region. After one of many long days of researching and visiting properties, it was only one minute after we walked thru the front door that I turned to Michele and said. "This is it!". The unique architecture; exceptional quality of the home ; cozy feel and lake location sealed the deal.
We spent a lovely, relaxing week at this vacation home. The amenities of the home and location on a quiet pond made this a comfortable, stress-free experience. The home/area provided opportunities for relaxation as we spent time on the pond, at the dock, on the terrace playing Scrabble and played golf nearby at Kezar Lake CC and Bridgton Highlands. Very happy time spent there with family and we would highly recommend this house.
We stayed in the cottage on Stearns Pond in July 2016. The place was immaculate with many well thought out features. The owners provided a very helpful write-up that covered the cottage and local areas of interest. Being on the pond, we had many meals on the outside terrace while listening to the birds and looking for the loons. Having morning coffee on the dock in the early morning was a great peaceful way to start the day. There were also outstanding, colorful sunsets over the pond and mountains on a nightly basis.
The pond was warm and inviting, it was just the right depth with a gradual slope so this would be good for kids. The cottage is located close (45 min away) to North Conway so we took a day trip to shop and came back to spend some time in the hot tub.
If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is a great option.
Upon arrival in early July, we were quite pleased with the home and location. A very inviting custom home with everything we needed. Owners provided all the necessary information and phoned to welcome us. The walk-out basement level remained a cool respite during the warmer days and a nice entertainment area in the evenings (next time I'd bring a chromecast to plug-in to the TV for netflix, etc.). The lake was never busy and always refreshing. My son and I caught small mouth bass with topwater lures. The owner's sea kayaks were way too tight of a fit for us so we rented from a business in Bridgton with delivery/pickup service. There were a pair of loons with two babies on the upper northeast portion of the lake. Ebenezer's Pub in Lovell is close and worth return visits. I day hiked the Baldfaces in the eastern edge of the White Mountains (awesome views/challenging loop/only 30 minutes away). We've been coming to Maine to escape the heat of the Mid-Atlantic for several summers now. This is a great place to stay!
We stayed the 2nd week in August and it was absolutely wonderful. The home is beautiful, updated, comfortable and clean. The owners truly care for this home as the house is fully stocked with everything you need. When you arrive you receive a binder of information for the house, restaurants and local activities. If you are looking for rest and relaxation this is the place to stay. The house is on a quite pond with quiet neighbors. The house is built well with the bedrooms upstairs and the T.V. downstairs separating the areas. It was truly a wonderful experience to stay and enjoy everything this home has to offer.
My wife and I had an excellent stay here during the holiday season. Not only is the cottage in a beautiful & secluded waterfront location, the interior is top-notch. The beautiful kitchen came equipped with absolutely everything we needed to prepare a home cooked meal. We also enjoyed relaxing beside the stone fire place as well as the outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking Stearns Pond. Within a short driving distance there are several grocery stores/ restaurants, as well as Shawnee Peak Ski Resort, where we spent a day skiing some fresh powder. The owner was very professional from start to finish. I have already recommended this cottage to several family members and friends! Looking forward to staying again!
My husband and I stayed a week with another couple and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful. This home is obviously well cared for. The location was perfect. Very quite and right on the water. We brought our 20' Ranger Bass boat and had no problems getting the boat in and out of the drive. The ramp was only a short ride away and the fishing was great! The town of Bridgeton is only a short ride away with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Absolutely the perfect vacation spot! Cant wait to come back again!
