About Caryn

I am born and raised in SW Michigan. Lived in Colorado for 10 years where I taught skiing, met and married my husband, had two beautiful daughters. We moved to Southern NV 23 years ago for work,(construction and real estate.) Scoured the back roads of Utah for years until we found this property. It reminds me of Colorado 35 years ago, pristine, undeveloped and laid back. Plus it's on the water, something I've loved since childhood. My husband lived in Crested Butte in the 70's and built his 1st log cabin there. We built this one together and it's fabulous!

Why Caryn chose Utah

We love this property, it's on the water and is soothing to wake up to. The stars shine amazingly bright in this mountain sky. It is 10 miles away from the dust and loud noise of nearby Duck Creek. 18 miles from Brian Head Ski Resort. Enjoy wildlife as nature intended.

What makes this cabin unique

We bottle the water from our 500 foot deep well to bring back to Southern NV. The water tastes amazing. The smell of the pine logs is indescribable along with the wood burning stone fireplace. The 28 foot high ceiling with sturdy beams is a masterpiece. It's a very relaxing environment with plenty of outdoor activities available. The mountains and the stream are your playground.

Great stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this cabin. It was very cozy and we felt right at home. The creek behind the cabin was a bonus too. We loved looking out and enjoying the views and hearing the creek. Plenty of room to spread out and had everything we needed and more in the kitchen. Lots of upgrades as well! We have plans to come back next year and can't wait!

Thank you Caryn for all of your personal touches and accomodations. It was such a plessure staying in your beautiful cabin!

Perfect family cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was gorgeous! The view was incredible and my family really felt like it was our own! Very well kept and the dining area was perfect for our family dinners. The owners were a pleasure to work with in arranging our stay. We look forward to many more trips to this cabin. One of the neighbors was a bit difficult if we crossed their property during our walks but we were able to resolve that by the end of our stay.

Home away from home...

  • 5 of 5

An amazing cabin in a magical location. It has a truly perfect blend of modern amenities while retaining all the rustic, cozy and western features that make for a charming mountain retreat. This is the place to get away from it all and still have all the conveniences available if you need them. The perfect location to explore the region or to just sit back on the deck and be lulled by the bubbling creek while admiring the beauty around you. The wildlife is incredibly fun to witness, especially the flock of giant turkeys that roam around and strangely enough look like a herd of dinosaurs running up the wooded hills...

Can't say enough about this property and its owner Caryn who is so friendly and accommodating. She was a pleasure to interact with and her genuine love and enthusiasm of her place made you immediately feel comfortable and excited about staying at her cabin. We would've stayed longer if we could have. We'll definitely be back. Sorry it took so long to send out this review Caryn. Kids keeping us busy. Once again thank you so much for your hospitality. We look forward to going back.

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a FABULOUS property. I am in the airline industry so I have had the opportunity to travel the world and stay in a variety of properties. I am rating this cabin as a perfect 5. This property sits on the river and is a fisherman's paradise.

The owners are great to work with and immediate in responding to any questions you might have. They have furnished the cabin with luxury that I did not expect in the great outdoors. The cabin is equiped with a reading library, family games and table, plenty of DVD's and VHS videos for all ages. Your comfort is the owner's priority. We all wanted to stay longer. Thank you Caryn for allowing us to relax and enjoy.

Great Place To Get Away

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful setting to get away... this is it.

The cabin is warm and modern withouth being too fancy. It is clean and well appointed.

It sits right on the stream and in the trees. There is no internet or cell service so it is perfect to force you (and others) to log off and be with each other and nature.

Nice central location to get to all the national parks too.

Caryn the owner was great to work with - pleasant and flexible on few requests as well.

I'd highly recommend this place for unplugging and relaxing!
