This 5 BR, 4 Bath, 3600 sq. foot Katama home was built in 2006 and features a wide-open floor plan for large gatherings -- but plenty of room to separate for a little privacy. First floor features a large common area with living room/dining room/kitchen and a master bedroom with bathroom. Second floor has an another master bedroom with day bed and ensuite bathroom; two additional bedrooms; plus a tv lounge area with a fold out couch. Finished basement includes another tv lounge/pool table area plus one additional bedroom and half bathroom. House has premium additions including hardwood floors, gas fireplace, 2 refrigerators, central air, granite/marble counters, stainless steel appliances, 2 grills, and 4 flat-screen tv's with cable.
A large flat yard is perfect for summer fun and a wrap around deck off the kitchen makes outdoor dining easy. A farmer's porch in the front of the house offers up rocking chairs for a relaxing break.
Location may be the best part of this house -- 3 minute drive to town, 3 minutes to Morning Glory Farm, 5 minutes to South Beach. This home has been a prize rental in Katama over the past 8 years and is now under new ownership with 2017 upgrades including interior paint, furniture, towels, linens, kitchen equipment, deck furniture, and decorating. We have two sets of all linens and towels which are professionally laundered each week to ensure freshness.

Why Jim Davey chose Katama
The property is a young 10 years old and is exactly what we would want as a rental. Big open area for big gatherings, but lots of spaces to find some privacy too (front porch, back deck, 2nd floor lounge, full basement). We're currently upgrading furniture, linens, towels, paint, kitchen supplies, and bathrooms so it's perfect for the Summer. Location is amazing -- private, but right in the middle of things too.

We stayed at this lovely Road to the Plains house with a large group of family and friends consisting of seniors, married couples with babies and singles. It worked out perfectly. Everyone loved the house - there was space for gathering and for private time and terrific play spaces. Pool table and ping pong table were put to great use including a few tournaments and the spacious, perfectly flat backyard allowed all kinds of outdoor play. The kitchen is well designed for teams of cooks and socializing while cooking. And amazingly well equipped, including excellent knives. I have been renting on the island for three decades and can honestly say I don't think I have ever encountered a decent chopping knife for the fabulous veggies available a short bike ride down the road at Morning Glory. Easy ride to South Beach. In addition Jim was a thoughtful owner sending email reminders and good information and caretaker Eric replied to all requests quickly and efficiently. A seriously perfect house!
