Immaculate cabin on a spectacular and 'woodsy' lake setting.
About Jill Brown
I am a Registered Nurse with a passion for Quality Management. I embrace the principles of the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence after seeing first hand the value brought to an organization after assessing the critical aspects of work against the criteria. I have enjoyed learning how to continually try to exceed the expectations of all guests of honor as my quality journey continues and I keep my mission alive; making the Red Cabin your Duluth Destination Delight!
Why Jill Brown chose Duluth
The first moment I set sight on the Red Cabin, I knew it was one of the most perfect places in the world. I immediately took to the special details so well thought out inside the cabin while promptly falling in love with the surrounding woods, rocks, the lake and peninsula. It is amazing how each season is unique and to be celebrated. While swinging near the shore with a refreshment in the summer, it is mezmerizing to imagine ice and snow across the expanse of the bay settling in, in but a few short months; and the reverse as you sit in the same swing bundled up in your winter gear imagining summer, the lake being a body of open water; always moving, never the same. When the ice comes and goes it is a treasure of sights and mysterious sounds that can't be properly described in word. Some early winters, the lake freezes hard before the snow and allows for ice skating; everywhere! A rare experience only few will ever know. The Red Cabin location is superb. To be so close to the edge of town (and what an exciting, unique and cool town Duluth/Hermantown is!) while yet being out in the woods; it is hard to find anything like it left in this world. The Red Cabin is just an experience in itself. I am honored to share it with people that are good stewards of God's world and will uphold and respect my Red Cabin and her grounds. It is expecially delightful for me to hear the shrieks of joy from young children out in the yard, feeding a fish or making a snowman. I look forward to visiting with you as you plan your vacation; I believe you will find unparalleled excellence at The Red Cabin.

PS....Thanks for pointing out it was notably "clean". I work super hard to make sure it is immaculate and beyond compare. I really appreciated the kind comments. :-)
Wonderful Family Escape to the Red Cabin
My family and I stayed for 4 nights while we were in Duluth for Grandma's Marathon this year. The Red Cabin far exceeded our expectations. Jill was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Not only was the cabin outfitted with everything we could possibly need (kayaks, lifejackets, pots & pans, games, etc), Jill also went above and beyond to leave personal touches and make our stay enjoyable. She was prompt to respond to any questions I had before the trip and was available throughout our stay by phone to answer any questions. The Red Cabin is located on Caribou Lake that provides visitors with a little oasis and access to endless activities. We enjoyed being able to roast marshmallows by the campfire and play in the lake. The cabin is only about a 30 minute drive from Duluth and made it easy for us to access the area. The cabin was immaculate and Jill and her family clearly exceptional care of it. As we were leaving the cabin my almost 3 year old nephew said "I want to come back". We hope to return for another stay! I would highly recommend the cabin to visitors in the area. Thank you Jill!
Thank you Abbie and family!
I am positive that I truly have been honored with the best guests in the VRBO universe since I started this journey, sharing The Red Cabin experience with others for years now. It was a pleasure to host you and your loved ones as you showed the entire 26.2 miles of Grandma's Marathon, on the gorgeous North Shore, just who is boss! Congratulations on all of your running achievements during our 2018 race. I was most impressed.
And did you get some crazy Minnesota weather or what?! Rain, sun, wind, rain, sun. It was hard to keep up with the ever changing forecasts, but you took it in with style and grace.
We look forward to your future visits Abbie and all....and it will be fun to see how much Nephew "O" has grown next year-what a cheerful little boy.
Thanks again for the kind words and enjoy your future running escapades!

A perfectly relaxing week!
I can’t recommend the Red Cabin highly enough!! The location was perfect for trips into Duluth -only a quick 20 minute drive to Canal Park - and for sightseeing. Caribou Lake was very quiet and serene and made for a very peaceful and relaxing retreat. The host Jill, as many other reviewers have commented, made this week just extraordinary! She was so kind and welcoming, bringing us baked treats and offering suggestions of things to see and do in the area. She really had thought of everything you could possibly need in the cabin and then some! We so loved our stay in The Red Cabin and look forward to a return visit!
Aaahh shucks Luke, THANK YOU! It was an honor to host you and your wife for a week at The Red Cabin. I am delighted you had a lovely retreat...and when I found the very cool North Shore Puzzle I was so surprised! No doubt future guests will be thankful for your puzzle, a cozy fire and the views of Caribou Lake when the rain is pitter-pattering on The Red Cabin roof.
I am glad you found solace and comfort in that stretch of rainy, windy days; and appreciated the gratitude for my goodies. Plus I got a kick seeing you out in the kayaks fishing up a storm.
Thanks bunches for being such thoughtful stewards of our slice of heaven! I look forward to your next visit. Your gentle and cheerful demeanors were a lovely fit with everything The Red Cabin stands for. Until we meet again..... :-) Peace.
Duluth is a destination delight. Stay in your very own private and peaceful lake cabin retreat on the edge of Caribou Lake...only 16 miles from Canal Park in Duluth and 4 miles from the edge of Hermantown which adjoins Duluth. There is always something exciting to explore, anytime of the year. Check out an official Duluth Travel Guide! (Please note, The Red Cabin is nestled in a peaceful and secluded neighborhood at the end of a peninsula. Loud parties, excessive drinking and substance use are not welcome nor tolerated. Thank you)
