About Valerie Austin
Our family lives in Dallas and enjoy relaxing weekend getaways. We love getting in a quick hike, enjoying the wonderful forest views, eating out at local restaurants if we don't feel like firing up the grill. It's family time in the great outdoors.

Why Valerie Austin chose Broken Bow
We appreciate the easy access of Beaver's Bend and the beauty of the area. After vacationing there several years ago, we decided it was a great location for us. We throw a cooler in the car, take the dog and Grandma up for the weekend and feel like we have really gotten away. Hiking, driving and exploring the dam and river, sitting outside and just looking at the stars helps us recharge.

We started a family tradition and rent a different cabin every year for Thanksgiving in this area. The location, house and Valerie was good but when we arrived the shower curtain in the master bedroom was on the floor and there was urine on it. The house needs some updating but wasn’t bad. My main concern was the cleanliness. There was dead lady bugs in the windowsill, coffee grinds near the coffee pot, the face towels in the master bathroom smelt like mill dew and the house definitely needed a good dusting. We cleaned everything up and just enjoyed being together as a family. Valerie was informed of everything and I even sent her pictures. She was sweet enough to return the cleaning fee. Great house but needs some improvements.
Semi secluded, close to other cabins so I didn’t feel completely isolated (as a woman traveling alone) but just enough trees & space in between to afford privacy. Cabin was clean & nicely appointed. Had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Cell & WiFi signals are spotty but it was a welcome reminder to leave work alone. Plan to return next year
I am thankful for the time to get away but I feel that the Cabin needs some updating. Both Mattresses need replacing. We slept on the coach. The cleaners , to me, did not do a good job. There were 2 dirty pans in the drawer of the stove. Still had toast burnt on them. Bowls in cabinet by stove were wet. We love Broken Bow and have stayed in many cabins. This is first one I am very dissapointed in...
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean and spacious. Owner was helpful with directions to the cabin and responsive to texts. It was nice to have access to board games to play, since it was raining one of the days we were there. A pleasant place to get away for a much needed time of rest and relaxation.
Valerie was very helpful and inviting! Loved the energy in the atmosphere! Very clean cable tv worked well. The only thing was the WiFi signal wasn’t very strong. I would highly recommend this place! Thanks Valerie ❤️
Nice cabin. I would’ve liked to of had some rocking chairs or more comfortable seating accommodations outside. We had trouble finding the cabin in the dark according to the directions. The cabin is not the last cabin on the left it’s the next to last cabin on left. Otherwise, we had a nice weekend getaway.
Broken Bow is a spectacular forest and lake/river area. The lake, woods, rivers, & marina provide opportunity for fly fishing, hiking, boating, ATVs, wildlife viewing, swimming, golfing, sightseeing, or just relaxing by a campfire.
