|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
This 3/4 Dome is on 5 Acres adjoins BLM and USFS lands totaling in the hundreds of thousands of Acres. It is 3.5 miles up a dirt road. A 4WD CAR IS REQUIRED IN THE WINTER. It is a cabin in the woods with heat and electricity and running water including free laundry. It is however somewhat rustic and there are no maids, you will be expected to clean up after yourselves. Basic cooking supplies are included but you will need to go grocery shopping. The home has 1 BR and 1 BA and has a total of about 1100 sf. There are three beds in ONE common room w/ loft. It has Heat ( controlled by thermostat) and Water and Electricity....no tv...no internet, but phones work well (4G network) so you can still post to your FB page. There is a stereo with a radio ( you can listen to football games) , a record player and a jack for your phone media. In winter November thru May a 4wd car with good tires is required to reach the Dome. The dome is luxurious in some ways, and rustic in others and its an all around a good value and unique place to stay. It is close to both Denver and to the mountains.
We are scientists and musicians , we've lost the manual for this dome rocketship-recording studio! Come help us find it! In the mean time we're using it as a guest house. Please let us know if you would like to make a record! Some instruments are available if the muse is with you....:)
I was in search of a K9 Shangri La...and I found it.
In the Mountains, but very close to everything you want to do, whether its in Denver or Further up the Hill!
Our stay at this perfect little dome house in the mountains was amazing, such character and it's beautiful inside out, made us feel like we were just at home with an awesome view! Thanks so much for a perfect get away! We will be staying again hopefully will make it a yearly thing!
I absolutely loved it here. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the state of the property on the outside. The dilapidated shed out front, the plywood siding under the roof porch, a little bit of junk (NOT A LOT) outside. When we pulled up, my husband was very wary about it. But then, we went inside and it was SO clean and everything you could need is in there! Sure, it needs some updating, but only if you care about modern style. I loved the décor and how there are quirky little notes written on the walls here and there and on the washing machine. Drinking water is provided in a cooler just because the water their is hard. There is SO MUCH to do as far as board games, playing records, snooping through the books and binders and boxes of nick nacks. The view was amazing, it was quiet, we saw lots of deer and it's quite secluded. If you are wanting quality family time stay here. We don't have kids, it was just my husband and myself and we loved every minute of being in the dome.
We enjoyed our stay at VanDome. The location is beautiful and off the beaten path. There was some noise from neighboring cabins, but mostly pretty quiet.
The porch has amazing views and the hammock was very nice.
Communication with Adam was great and he even brought us flowers since it was our anniversary!
The interior of the dome could have been cleaner, there seems to be a problem with mold in the bathroom and inside the washing machine. I mention this because, like me, some folks are very sensitive to mold and may have some issues because of that.
The Dome was the perfect spot for a Daddy-Daughter weekend.
We played every board game, shot BB guns, saw the stars, slept in, made pancakes, and rocked out to the main Star Wars theme on vinyl. And then we went "Under Dome". You have to see it to believe it: art, rock & roll, and a wood-fired sauna!!!
We drove to the top of Mt. Evans and hiked around Echo Lake Park and downtown Idaho Springs.
Leave all the screens at home and bring your imagination.
Our party of 4 adults and 2 dogs had an amazing stay at the dome! The architecture is beautiful and the interior had everything we needed and more (cool books, awesome selection of records, and interesting curiosities that have been collected over the years). We cooked every night in the full kitchen and woke up to deer and a fox on the balcony as we sipped coffee in the morning. I miss watching the sunsets from the porch......We want to go back every year! Thanks for a fabulous stay!!!
My family and I stayed a weekend at the Dome. What an awesome experience we all had. The Dome was so cozy and relaxing with instruments, work out equipment and outdoor lounging areas. We all have discussed going back this coming summer to remake another amazing memory at the Dome. We appreciate your welcoming and creative Dome Adam and your neighbor Dale was a quick responder when we had gotten stuck in the snow, what a great guy. Even with our snow trouble we didn't have a thing to worry about. Thank you!!
Mountain biking and Hiking are available year round right out the door, high above the Chicago Creek Valley. Mt Evans is just up the road, you can drive to the top in the summer and explore for days!
