Why Sherry Nohava chose Bootjack
We have always loved the Yosemite area and we fell in love with the setting of this property. When I was working in Pleasanton, CA, we found this property and immediately began putting a lot of TLC into it. We are proud to offer it as a vacation rental. We are hoping others will appreciate the country ambiance and peacefulness as much as we do.
What makes this Cottage unique
It's a great house with a wrap around porch, two entrances into the front, and a doorway to the porch from each bedroom. Snowcapped mountains surround this home's little valley, creating a gorgeous landscape in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The layout is great for enjoying the outdoors and allowing the country air to circulate through. The central heating and air add an extra element of comfort to the comfortable furnishings. The covered porch is almost as big as the inside of the house. It's a great place to hang out and listen to the rain, read a book, or to watch the wildlife.

Great Cabin and Setting, Very Private, Location is OK, but a ways out from Yosemite
I would really like to give 3.5 stars. It truly is a great cabin, but was a bit dirty when we arrived. Cob webs in some areas, rugs were dirty. We spent the 1st 30 minutes cleaning when we arrived. Also, there is a very cute and sweet little cat that the owner evidently knows is there since she left us a note to please feed the cat, but there was no food. So we went to the store and bought cat food. The problem was we had a little dog, and because of the cat he refused to come outside on the porch with us. My advice to the owner would be to let people know in advance. The place is lovely but needs some TLC, there is no grass for your pet and the cabin is about 4 miles from town down a country road. We did enjoy our time there and would recommend for someone wanting a nice, quiet, place away from it all. We already miss the sweet little cat.
Thanks for your feedback. I've reminded my maids to pay closer attention to the details when they're finishing their cleaning jobs. Please accept my apologies for your inconvenience. The cat is a stray that took up residency on our property and we are looking at options to find her a good home. She's strictly an outdoor cat and is self sufficient. We don't recommend feeding it, or any other wild animals, for that matter. The note to feed the cat was left by a previous guest. The grass dies off in the fall and winter and the house is on a well, so watering the grass is not a viable option.
A lovely, peaceful place
We had a wonderful time at your cabin. It is well equipped and very comfortable, but its main attraction is the wonderfully peaceful setting. I hadn't experienced such quiet for a long time. It was a fantastic experience. We watched a beautiful sunset a short walk from the cabin and enjoyed the stars and the moon every night.
A wonderful place
We had a wonderful time in this spacious and well equipped cabin. The setting is wonderful. We saw more stars than we had in a long time.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at our little country home. It's true that the starlit sky is amazing in our little corner of the world. Thanks for coming! We hope you'll make it back our way again soon.
Enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful setting. The cabin was very comfortable and clean, with modern amenities. We cooked our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. Sherry was a very gracious hostess. We went over to Yosemite 3 days and the drive was about 35 minutes, but quite pretty.
That's awesome! It does my heart good to hear that my guests appreciate our efforts and enjoy our property the way we hope you will!
Mariposa house near Yosemite .
We really enjoyed staying at your rental. Everything there was comfortable and well stocked. The quiet area and the wildlife were also enjoyable. Mariposa was a quaint small town with some restaurants and a mining museum in town. The ride to Yosemite took about an hour and was awesome. We also drove to Bass Lake which was about 45 minutes away. The whole vacation was breathtaking.
We're so glad you enjoyed our cottage. Thanks for coming. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels and that you'll make it back to our comfortable little place in the country again!
Charming and nice setting
We had a one night stay in this old but well-maintained house. This house stands bright among all other properties in that area. The first look itself is awesome, but Sherry, the owner will not disappoint you. The feeling gets better when you get inside the house. They have done a great job in re-modeling and maintaing this property. Sherry is very friendly and accomodated all our requests. She was great to work with. The only regret is that wish we had a another night to enjoy the place.
Diya, We hope you'll come again and stay longer next time! :) Thanks for staying at our place and for your nice comments.
