Best porch on Grand Isle!

  • 5 of 5

The house was fine, everything in order, and enough kitchen staples, towels, bed clothes, etc. Our favorite place was the front porch, with the fabulous view of the bay. We watched the pelicans soaring and diving, herons and egrets hunting, and spectacular sunsets. Would go back to this very place!

Beach access, grocery store, several restaurants nearby. The state park is lovely. The people we met very friendly and hospitable. All good!

Half Decent

  • 3 of 5

The property was kind of run down. I see now why a picture was not shown. Light bulbs were out in the room and breaker was already tripped so we could'nt use stuff and had to be fixed.

Owner's Response: Usually guests find the camp refreshing and revitalizing as the electric was not tripped but always turned off between guests in storm session, as is mentioned in the folder left for you. If one light bulb was out it would have been delt with immediately if I was told. I hope you give our place which has the best views over the bay on the island another chance. Kindly Michele

Comfortable camp

  • 4 of 5

Comfortable camp at the end of a quiet street with great views of the bay. Not luxurious but very comfortable. Plenty of room for the five of us and will likely return.

Great location and view!!

  • 3 of 5

The house was clean and the view of the bay was awesome!! We where under the impression that you could get to bay by fishermans path but the path was very grown up and not usable. The cart to take things all the way down the road and over the levy to the beach had only 1 wheel. There was plenty of basic needs things like dish washing soap and detergents. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!!

Great camp for the price

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. We love Grand Isle. We enjoyed the beautiful Sunset from the back porch. We wish that it would have had access to the bay, but none of the camps near it had access. The property is dated and needs some repairs but for the price I would definitely stay again. The grill outside needs to be replaced and was out of propane. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay and you can't beat that sunset on the porch. There is a fishermans path to the bay for future reference (but your ankles will get wet) and the policy for propane on all rentals on the island is to fill the tank if empty(as mentioned in the papers) but grills do get a bit battered on the island and we replace and renovate all the time. However did you get a chance to have a little bonfire with the wood provided as that's magical on a starry night. Hope to see you again Michele
