About Michele Claiborne
I am a healer and use this place as my retreat for myself and workshops when guests are not there.
Why Michele Claiborne chose Grand Isle
The magnificent sunsets over the bay yet close to the beach and room for my horses below to take them swimming in the ocean. Great for fishing and nothing is too far away on the island
What makes this House unique
Bird watchers Paridise due to the marshes before the Bay

Best porch on Grand Isle!
The house was fine, everything in order, and enough kitchen staples, towels, bed clothes, etc. Our favorite place was the front porch, with the fabulous view of the bay. We watched the pelicans soaring and diving, herons and egrets hunting, and spectacular sunsets. Would go back to this very place!
Beach access, grocery store, several restaurants nearby. The state park is lovely. The people we met very friendly and hospitable. All good!
I’m so glad you had a wonderful time.. those sunsets on the porch really are spectacular! Grand Isle is a unique place to enjoy water, sand and sea life . Hope to see you again, thanks for staying. Kindly Michele
The property was kind of run down. I see now why a picture was not shown. Light bulbs were out in the room and breaker was already tripped so we could'nt use stuff and had to be fixed.
Usually guests find the camp refreshing and revitalizing as the electric was not tripped but always turned off between guests in storm session, as is mentioned in the folder left for you. If one light bulb was out it would have been delt with immediately if I was told. I hope you give our place which has the best views over the bay on the island another chance.
It was nice for a getaway weendend before school starts
Everything was good. The shower could have been better water hardly came out when shower but we had a nice stay.
So glad you had a good visit ...and I will check out the shower as it was flowing fine before so hopefully an easy fix. Hope to see you next year.
Comfortable camp at the end of a quiet street with great views of the bay. Not luxurious but very comfortable. Plenty of room for the five of us and will likely return.
Thank you for your review we try hard to keep the camp in good condition and keep our guests happy. So glad you had a great stay and hope to see you again soon
Great location and view!!
The house was clean and the view of the bay was awesome!! We where under the impression that you could get to bay by fishermans path but the path was very grown up and not usable. The cart to take things all the way down the road and over the levy to the beach had only 1 wheel. There was plenty of basic needs things like dish washing soap and detergents. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!!
Great camp for the price
We enjoyed our stay. We love Grand Isle. We enjoyed the beautiful Sunset from the back porch. We wish that it would have had access to the bay, but none of the camps near it had access. The property is dated and needs some repairs but for the price I would definitely stay again. The grill outside needs to be replaced and was out of propane. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.
So glad you enjoyed your stay and you can't beat that sunset on the porch. There is a fishermans path to the bay for future reference (but your ankles will get wet) and the policy for propane on all rentals on the island is to fill the tank if empty(as mentioned in the papers) but grills do get a bit battered on the island and we replace and renovate all the time. However did you get a chance to have a little bonfire with the wood provided as that's magical on a starry night. Hope to see you again
