This beach house has been secret service approved when a congressman’s family picked it for their vacation! You’ll know why the moment you get out of the car and look back at the waves rolling in, and the views just get more spectacular from the second floor. Poised on the finger of a hill in such a manner you won’t see the cars on the street below when sitting in the living room, but you will see the wind moving the tree tops and watch the surf roll in. You’ll think you’re in a big tree house that has wall-to-wall windows from living room to dining room. From your perch you’ll be able to watch the kids run all the way to the state beach and watch them boogie board, fly kites, play in the water, or surf. White-water views and watching the sun rise above the hills in the east and sinking over the ocean on the west are just a small taste of the joys of this house. Wildlife is another. It is not unusual to see deer or turkeys on the hills to the north or sea otters, sea lions, or pods of jumping porpoises ... and yes, even breaching whales during their migrations. You can start your day with coffee on the deck watching the sun come up or the fog swirling around the hills and Morro Rock and over the water or end it with a glass of wine while you watch the sun go down over the ocean. Come and enjoy the simple pleasures that can only be truly savored in one of the last charming small coastal towns left in the nation … a charming small coastal town with near perfect year-round weather.
The state beach is just eight houses down 24th Street, about a two-minute walk, with an unobstructed view straight down the road all the way to the beach. That means you can sit on the deck and watch the kid's play at the beach, and when they get back from building sand castles, they can wash the sand off in twin outdoor showers. The BBQ chef can replenish their energy with great meals to get them ready for their next adventure.
Spacious accommodations for ten, and each room has its own flat screen TV. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bath, and its own private deck with stunning views of the ocean, hills and historical cemetery that dates to the founding of the town. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a queen with its own bath and views of the hills. The super large downstairs bedroom also has its own bath and patio with great views of the breaking surf through double French doors. It sleeps six with a queen bed, double twins, and a queen futon. The rental comes with fully equipped kitchen and all linens.
Cayucos has location, location, location for great outings! Big Sur starts a few miles north, … just as you pass Hearst Castle. Wine tasting in some of the best wine estates in all of California is just minutes away in any direction, including wine excursions on the bay. Antiquing, whale watching, visits to the elephant seal rookery at Piedras Blancas, touring the San Luis mission, or watching world-class performances at Cal Poly's Performing Arts Center all await you. You could even go shell collecting on the miles of beach that starts just a few feet from your door. From fine dining to shopping and everything in between, your family will create lifetime memories in our small town. Don’t take my word for it; take CNN’s who ranked Cayucos number one in the NATION as “America’s coolest small town”!
If you need the easy access that comes with single-story homes for a loved one, you don’t have to give up the views that come with a two-story home because this house has an elevator! You owe it to yourself and your family to at least spend a week with us. Customer loyalty speaks volumes; we have a very strong return rate with most summer visitors immediately booking for the next summer. We’re the best value on the market. Come and see why. We might be just what your family needs to have the best vacation ever.
***Be forewarned, the driveway is steeper than it looks. Cars do park on the steepest part, but you’ll definitely need to engage the parking brake and consider blocking the wheels. It's a small price to pay for the best all-around location and views in the area.

This was a wonderful home and perfect for our women's retreat. It is centrally located which makes it possible to visit nearby Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Avila Beach and Cambria and spend time shopping the antique shops in Cayucos. The large table provided enough space for all 9 to gather, work puzzles play games, and eat. The view was spectacular from the front facing balconies and large windows. It was fully equipped and in good working condition. We were all reluctant to leave. A great time was had by all 9 of the women in attendance and we can't say enough positive things about the beautiful home. The elevator made it easy for those of us with mobility issues and for bringing up our personal items to the main floor.
We were celebrating my husband's 70th birthday, and we hit the jackpot with this home! While we only had 7 spending the night, we had a few others over for the celebration on Friday night, with room for everyone. We BBQ'd the first night and everyone had a seat at the beautiful (massive!) dining room table. There were balconies surrounding the home, so everyone had a place to be alone or with others. The views to the beach were amazing (even with the drizzle and mild rain). We took the short walk to the beach to enjoy the waves and see the other beautiful homes in this area. So close to downtown Cayucos that we spent some time there, as well. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautifully updated family-friendly environment. The home is open and airy and nicely maintained. Easy to check in and even easier to check out (just bag the trash, turn on the dishwasher and go!)!
I am happy to share about our four-day stay in this gorgeous home. Each year my siblings and I, along with our spouses, take our elderly father to the coast. This year we hit the jackpot! We've stayed in some nice homes before, but none have been as perfect as this one. The owners have taken extra care to create a beautiful home setting. Every feature was even better than advertized. The home was sparkling clean upon arrival, and the owners even made special arrangements for us to arrive earlier than regular check-in time. The location is absolutely perfect, close to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo as well as Cambria. It rests atop a hill leading to our favorite beach... the best beach around for families, with parking, bathrooms, and a long clean, uncrowded shoreline. The huge bank of windows in the home provide a spectacular view of the ocean. There's plenty of seating on the balcony as well. The elevator was ideal for our dad to access the upstairs. The decor is tasteful and beautiful...the nicest I've seen in any home. It looks professionally decorated, but it's really comfortable and cozy. The newly-remodeled kitchen is a work of art, and though we didn't cook much on this trip, I noticed that it was stocked with everything one could possibly need. I plan to use it lots on our next trip over with children and grandchildren. Though there are only three bedrooms, the one room on the lower floor easily slept five of us. Each bedroom also has its own tv and bathroom, too! All in all, we just really appreciated all the efforts made to make us feel at home. We felt like we were in a special place, very loved by its owners. On the walls, a little family history and artwork done by a relative helped us get to know the family who made our stay so memorable. Books were even provided free of charge for us to take with us. Every thought was given to make us love this house as much as they do. Well, we do. We now hope to return year after year.
Our group of women friends stayed here this past weekend and had a fantastic time. The house is beautifully maintained, very clean, has great views, and is easy to find. There were even fresh flowers in the kitchen for our arrival! Having the elevator from the garage to the main floor of the house made it really easy to unload things from our cars and load them when we left. Just a short walk to the beach which is not crowded and looked dog-friendly. The view of Morro Rock is also nice. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and serving bowls and utensils. Many extra pillows, blankets, and towels to use if needed. Nice short drive to Cambria and Paso Robles for winetasting and eating out. Didn't have a chance to eat at the local restaurants, but heard they are good. We had an amazing weekend staying here and would not hesitate to come back again.
We were fortunate to stay here for Thanksgiving week. Accommodated large group easily with space to spread out. We especially enjoyed the enormous dining room table! Great patio for morning coffee, wine at sunset, and conversation into the evening. We happened to have great weather, so the showers in back came in handy after kids and adults played in the ocean and on the beach. So many great memories... I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. We hope to have the good fortune to return again soon!
My nieces and I had the good fortune to spend the week-end at this Gorgeous home. The views were spectacular, and the house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We did not want to leave. Beautiful scenery, short walk to the beach and close to Cayucos and Morro Bay. Looking forward to being able to staying here again. If you are looking for a place at the beach, I highly recommend this place.
