The Whim is a wonderful Edwardian Gentleman's seaside home, now lovingly converted into a unique family holiday home for up to 14 people.

The property stands in its own grounds on the top of a cliff overlooking the Norfolk coastline. The Whim is located on the edge of the rural seaside village of Mundesley, which boasts a beautiful beach and many attractions, including golf and other country pursuits.

The Whim benefits from it's own indoor heated swimming pool, located in the grounds. This makes the Whim an ideal family retreat.

Each of the rooms are of generous proportions, as was the case with most homes built in the Ewardian times. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with most modern necessities. The dining room will seat 14 adults and there are high chairs available if needed.

Mundesley is ideally located for all the North Norfolk Coastal attractions. All are within easy reach, including:

the Queen's residence at Sandringham;

Wells-next-the-sea - home of Stephen Fry's 'Kingdom' which was all filmed in and around Wells Next The Sea;

Cromer, described as the jewel of the North Norfolk Coast, with it's lovely pier and vibrant town centre;

North Norfolk Railway - The poppy line, where trains are pulled by restored steam locomotives, running through some of the loveliest countryside in the UK;

The area is home to numerous stunning towns and villages as well as the Norfolk Broads.

I purchased the Whim in 2009. It had already been run as a successful holiday home rental business. It has undergone a period of refurbishment under my ownership, with the final work scheduled for 2013/4

What makes this house unique

The Whim occupies a fantastic position on top of the cliffs overlooking the North sea and Mundesley. There is a path down to the sea just at the end of the road. Mundesley beach is fabulous. It is clean, large and thankfully almost undiscovered by the masses.

There is a £125 per week / part week surcharge for the heated swimming pool. This charge is applicable all year round and is extra to the rental rate. The property has numerous other extras in a fully equipped kitchen. Please note that the broadband in the house is provided by a third party supplier. We cannot be help responsible if the service dips or stops working for any reason outside of our control. Of course, we will endeavour to remedy the situation as promptly as we can, but as you will appreciate, we are reliant on the third party. Pets are welcome, however, there will be a charge of £15 per week / part week for each pet taken to the property. Also the deposit is increased to £300 when pets are catered at the property. Guests should note that the property should be vacated in a clean and tidy state. The cost of any extra-ordinary cleaning required to prepare the property for the next guests, will be deducted from the security deposit.

Mundesley is an ancient English town located on the Norfolk coast. It is a quaint quintessentially English seaside resort, which benefits from being within a short journey to hundred's of excellent tourist attractions, from the Queen's Norfolk retreat of Sandringham, which she traditionally occupies during Christmas, through to numerous Anglo-Saxon and Norman churches, stately homes as well as the more leisurely aspects such as the local golf course, Mundesley's own beach and shops, amusements, walks etc.

Heating Surcharge $198.79

A heating surcharge of £148 is payable for each booking. This amount is payable all year round and covers the cost of the swimming pool heating costs. It is payable per booking rather than per week or similar pro-rata style.

30% of the rental rate is payable upon booking. This is non-refundable. The balance of 70% of the booking rental rate is payable 3 months before the booking start date. The security deposit and any heating surcharge is payable 2 weeks prior to the booking start date. The security deposit is £200 without dogs, or £300 with. Dogs are allowed with prior agreement and there is a £15 per dog surcharge.

We recommend our clients take out their own holiday insurance as we cannot offer refunds if you are unable to use your holiday home booking for any reason.

PAYMENT - A non refundable 30% booking deposit is required to secure the booking, with the 70% balance to be paid in full 12 weeks before the holiday.
Please note that the 30% booking deposit is non refundable and is not returned under any circumstance. If this is of any concern, please take out relevant insurance to cover for this.
