We have a bedroom with a king bed, and another with a queen bed. A den has a futon which opens to a full bed. Gas grill supplements the fully equipped kitchen for cooking and serving meals.
Dunedin is a lovely spot with a lively downtown and arts community. Events are held throughout the year including seasonal festivals, art shows and farmers markets. Many choices on golf courses within 10 miles of the house, including Dunedin Golf Club, .2 miles from the house; close to Pinellas Trail, 34 miles of paved former railway, available for biking, walking and running activities. Close by beaches Honeymoon Island State Park, 5 minutes, Clearwater Beach, 18 minutes, or St. Pete Beach 50 minutes.
We fell in love with this Florida home as soon as we saw it -- it's charming and a lovely place to just kick back and relax!
We loved our stay in this large and most accommodating home. We stayed two weeks, sharing it with another couple. There was plenty of room for everyone! The kitchen is huge and has every pan or utensil you could possibly need for cooking. The pantry was well stocked with items you would normally need to purchase. There was an abundance of towels, including beach towels. The beds were very comfortable and having three bathrooms was a blessing. The neighborhood made the first great impression. It was absolutely beautiful and within walking (along the Pinellas Trail) distance to stores, the golf course, and the beach causeway. I highly recommend Frenchy's restaurant, which is less than a mile away. We went there quite often. Downtown Dunedin is a joy to explore. The Draught Haus restaurant was another one we frequented.
The owners of this home could not have been nicer during all communications and assured us that any problems encountered would be taken care of immediately. We would most definitely stay here again!
This is our second year staying at this beautiful home and we love it.
It is in great shape, quiet neighborhood, close to the bike path and Hammock Park.
3 miles from the beach. It is a perfect place to stay in Dunedin. We feel very fortunate to have found this ideal spot.
We have rented this home now 4 yrs. in a row and each year it feels more like our own! Extremely comfortable, spacious and well maintained, the owner's have thought of everything, from the linens to the kitchen and comfy accommodations in the living area's. I have a large family that lives in the area and this home well accommodates us for the holiday festivities and entertaining. Definitely looking forward to future Holiday gatherings at this remarkable home located not far from Downtown Dunedin. Thank you for the hospitality shown each and every year.
Stayed here almost 2 months (end of July thru middle of September) while my Daughter received Lyme disease treatment at Lifework's Wellness and we loved it here! The meticulously maintained house is spacious with just enough furniture and decorations to feel like home. The beds are comfortable and linens are nice and soft with plenty of extras. Bathroom linens are the good ones! The kitchen is huge with a lovely view of the private back yard. The dishes are nice quality and the pantry is huge. The living room has a sofa and a loveseat (both sofabeds), a comfy leather chair, a couple of rattan rockers, and a rattan chair and ottoman, so there's plenty of sitting room. Plenty of eating space, too, with a dining room table and a breakfast room table. Every Friday or Saturday the lawn people come and they keep the grounds manicured. The back patio isn't covered, but the big umbrella in the center of the patio table provides good shade. My 2 little dogs enjoyed having the run of the lush, green, fenced back yard. The internet is fast and there are plenty of cable channels. Being able to pull into the garage and go in thru the kitchen on rainy days is convenient. The washer and dryer are just outside the kitchen and both are fast so you have time to do other things. The house is very close to most everything you'd want to do - restaurants (Benedict's Family Restaurant for a good breakfast, Frenchies on the causeway going to Honeymoon Beach, Ozona Pig, Serendipity Cafe if you're looking for organic/healthy food), Richard's Foodporium, Publix grocery store, Walgreen's, downtown Dunedin, Clearwater beach, Palm Harbor, and the airport is not a bad drive away. You can walk to the Pinellas Trail. We didn't use them, but there are a couple of bikes and a nice grill in the garage. I was alone there for a few days and felt completely safe. If you like to walk, go up to the golf course in the early evening. It's very pretty there with all the huge trees. If I ever get to this area, I would want to rent this house again.
If you are looking at renting this house for your stay in Dunedin, please do this:
Immediately stop reading my review and go to the calendar and book it!
Ok, are you back now? Good. I will tell you why you will want to stay here.
First of all, this is a very charming Florida home. The photos above don’t do it justice. It’s cozy, roomy, and comfortable and you will immediately be thinking of ways to stay longer. Trust me. It’s just what you are looking for, if you don’t need to be right by the beach (and all the traffic that accompanies that) and are looking for.
Its location just a few blocks from the Dunedin golf course makes it a great spot for you if hitting the little white ball is your thing. Located in a very quiet neighborhood, with wide streets for walking (or riding the two bikes provided the garage), you will be able to enjoy the area in at a slower pace when you want to do so.
If you pull out some lawn chairs from the garage, you can enjoy the backyard, which is like your own small park, with privacy from many trees and bushes, birds aplenty, and a view of the blue, blue sky.
With three-plus bedrooms, including one with a king bed and its own bathroom and another with a queen bed, there’s sleeping room for the whole family. The living room and dining room give you more space to spread out, and the thoroughly modern kitchen has all you need for small or bigger meals.
Flat screen TV? Check. Wireless internet? Check. DVR in case you need to record that favorite program off of the many cable channels available? Double check.
A few more reasons to stay: Just 15 minutes away via a leisurely walk (or 2 minutes by car) on Bayshore Boulevard is the Covered Bridge Café. The prices seem like they are out of the 1970s! Breakfast all day, honest, filling food and good coffee. Everyone will like it, even your food snob cousin (even though he might not admit it!).
Other restaurants are close by north in Palm Harbor, or south in the quaint town of Dunedin. You won’t run out of places to eat (or drink). And if your Florida weakness for Key Lime pie is the same as mine, be sure to head up the road for JJ Gandy’s and buy a pie or perhaps some Key Lime cookies. Addicting!
And you can shop at the Publix market just up the highway and around the corner for all you need to stock the pantry and fridge, saving a few bucks on the food bill by dining in.
So go ahead and book it. You won't be disappointed!
Dunedin is a lovely spot with a lively downtown and arts community. Events are held throughout the year including seasonal festivals, art shows and farmers markets. There are more than 20 golf courses within 10 miles of the house, including Dunedin Golf Club, .2 miles from the house, (formerly headquarters of the PGA). House is close to Pinellas Trail, 34 miles of paved former railway, now used for biking, walking and running activities. Beaches are within minutes at Honeymoon Island State park, or drive 18 minutes to Clearwater Beach, or 50 minutes to St. Pete Beach . Close to both Tampa (Ybor City, Florida Aquarium) and St. Petersburg (Dali Museum, Chihuly Collection) both with major cultural attractions and fine dining. Great restaurants in the town of Dunedin, only 3 miles away. Plenty more dining spots in Clearwater Beach, and adjacent Ozona, only a few minutes away. The community center has tennis, art museum, cultural events, and large pool area.
