About Jeff Clary

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, my Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras.

Jeff Clary purchased this house in 2007

Beautiful 1 bedroom/1 bath that came with excellent accommodations!!!

This Uptown house is great for couples! My husband and I spent the week here and we were able to walk to a variety of local restaurants and stores. Magazine street is just a 7-10 minute walk from the house. There's even an excellent brunch restaurant that's a 3 minute walk away called "Toast." A must visit when staying here! We never had trouble with finding parking right in front of the house. You're only about a 15-20 minute drive to the French Quarter. We would definitely think of staying here again when coming through the New Orleans area.

Overall lack of attention

  • 2 of 5

Overall, clean but issues: no hand towels or wash clothes, only a few crooked wire coat hamhers, too heavy qilt on bed - lighter substitute was too small for bed, shower drain sluggish, wimdow blimd on front door damaged and askew, 2 pair of someone else's pants in closet, bed like a trample lee but we knew that from previous stay.

In all, a great location for us but attention to important details sadly lackimg. LR couch pretty beat up

On train, pardon typos

Owner's Response: Thanks for the repeat business. I live just around the corner, and encourage guests to reach out when there's something they need. More hangers, a lighter quilt, and more washcloths would have been very easy things to address. I'm always happy to do whatever I can to ensure the comfort of my guests during their stay.

This Uptown property is a stone's throw away from dining, drinking, shopping, merry-making, and Mardi Gras. Enjoy alligator pies washed down with Abita Amber at Frankie and Johnny's, just across the street. One block away is Dos Jefe's Cigar bar, which has a cozy patio area. Traveling with kids? Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo are just 10 blocks away. The park also sports a par-3 golf course, a swimming pool, basketball courts, soccer fields, a jogging trail, and scenic views of the Mississippi River. If you fancy a quiet night in, there are two grocery stores within 3 blocks - Whole Foods and Winn-Dixie. Magazine Street provides ample dining and late night opportunities. Some of the best live music in the city can be found at Les Bons Temps or at Tipitinas, both less than a mile from the property. And if it's Mardi Gras you are after... Many of the Uptown parades line up along Jefferson between Tchoupitoulas St. and Magazine St. - 2 blocks from the house.
