About Jeff Clary

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, my Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Jeff was extremely responsive leading up to the trip. Quickly responded to emails/questions. Jeff's instructions were extremely detailed, accurate and helpful. Apt is just as at looks, very clean and comes with a number of different helpful amenities (including shampoo, soap, tp, etc.) Walking distance to audobon park - easy parking - great location if you know the city or want to stay uptown.

Great amenities...

  • 3 of 5

The house was laid out very nice and had Great amenities.

However, there were a few issues: The floors were very dirty (my wife cleaned the floors on her hands and knees). *Suggestion- have people remove their shoes at the door or have runner rugs.

The shower water pressure was low.

You can hear the connected neighbors walking around and talking, especially in the bedroom. Very hard to fell asleep. *That was a real disappointment.

Parking was not designated but we had no problem finding a spot.

We loved spending time at Frankie & Johnny's which was a very short walk away.

COMFY! COZY!

  • 4 of 5

The house was very comfortable to go to after a long day of walking. The only thing I would have to complain about is that the patio chairs out front need to be changed, the old wicker put a whole in my pants and the sofa bed has definitely been put to use. Other then that street car was about a 15 min walk and that took us everywhere we wanted to go.

Loved It!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with my son and his friends from Tulane. The full kitchen allowed me to give them a home-cooked meal and a I had a great opportunity to "hang out" and get to meet them all. Parking was a breeze, even making U turns on the busy street that wasn't always. The bedroom is very large and could easily hold a 2nd Queen, which would have made it easier for me and my adult daughter who shared instead of dealing with the sofa bed. The bath was great too! We enjoyed it very much.

Perfect Location close to Audubon Park

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, updated and very clean Southern style "shot gun shack". My husband and I eloped and were married under the "Tree of Life" in Audubon Park. The location was less than 5 minutes away and has a great little porch for coffee sipping and people watching. There is a cute little bar directly across the street, so no fighting the crowds in the French Quarter if you just want to have a night cap or three. We loved this little place and will stay again for a quick weekend in NOLA. We don't care for the crowds in the French Quarter although, it was not horribly far when we went out to eat. This home is close to the Garden District where we would much rather spend our time relaxing under the live oaks!! We had a wonderful stay!!

Perfect Vacation Destination

  • 5 of 5

The house was comfortable, the owner had some great suggestions for day time activities, and our vacation was perfect. We were traveling with our 4 year old, and the owner suggested a half dozen things in the area to keep her entertained - a playground 2 blocks away, the neighborhood snowball stand, the splash park at the zoo, Audubon park etc. There are some excellent restaurants in the area. There are also two grocery stores within walking distance, so it was easy to stock the kitchen with 4 year old friendly food during our stay.

This Uptown property is a stone's throw away from dining, drinking, shopping, merry-making, and Mardi Gras. Enjoy alligator pies washed down with Abita Amber at Frankie and Johnny's, just across the street. One block away is Dos Jefe's Cigar bar, which has a cozy patio area. Traveling with kids? Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo are just 10 blocks away. The park also sports a par-3 golf course, a swimming pool, basketball courts, soccer fields, a jogging trail, and scenic views of the Mississippi River. If you fancy a quiet night in, there are two grocery stores within 3 blocks - Whole Foods and Winn-Dixie. Magazine Street provides ample dining and late night opportunities. Some of the best live music in the city can be found at Les Bons Temps or at Tipitinas, both less than a mile from the property. And if it's Mardi Gras you are after... Many of the Uptown parades line up along Jefferson between Tchoupitoulas St. and Magazine St. - 2 blocks from the house.
