My family had a blast at this cottage. We have a four year old and a two year old who had enough room to explore/play in the big two story cottage. Would recommend this cottage to anyone or any family as the view is amazing and having your kids be outside and explore in the wilderness is fun too see. There are lots of rocks everywhere so you have to keep an eye on your kids, but my kids really enjoyed themselves. The kayaks and canoe were fun to play with as well!! Great time overall!!
Everything was as described. Coming from Alberta we arrived late into the Sault so we were so relieved that the directions provided were simple and clear. The house was both welcoming and comfortable. As there was 8 of us we were worried about space but the layout was perfect as we never felt cramped. It was clean and very well maintained. Dealing with the owners was a pleasure they were very helpful with instructions about lights, TV, and general maintenance. I would most diffidently recommend a stay at this location.
As soon as we set eyes on the cottage, we were thrilled! Everything was exactly as shown in the pictures and everywhere was spotlessly clean. There were so many things to enjoy from the ping pong to the darts and the fire pit. We were lucky with the weather, but if it should be bad, there's the cozy fireplace and literally hundreds of movies to watch! Karen was very helpful and answered all our questions without delay. Absolutely faultless and we would all love to go back.
Absolutely Fantastic Cottage Rental
We had a truly enjoyable experience from the first enquiry to our last departure. The cottage was exactly as pictured and described. Very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked and the porch was perfect for entertaining family members who dropped by to visit. Everyone agreed that we had the best rental on the island. The beach area was small but perfect for children and we enjoyed canoeing and kayaking in the quiet lake. Life jackets were provided. The lake was great for swimming. Correspondence with Karen was easy. Would love to return.
More Than a Cabin!
The Sundberg's cabin is a beautiful place that easily accommodated my family of four and my brother's family of four. There was something to do for all the kids who ranged in age from 3 to 17 from the peaceful lake in the back equipped with kayaks to the ping pong table in the basement. The cabin is very clean, has every need provided for, is roomy and very welcoming. We would definitely recommend visiting St. Joseph's island and staying at the Sundberg's cabin.
Exceeded our expectations!
We have used Homeaway many times and this property by far is one of our favourites. Very cozy cottage and close to everything. The canoes/kayaks were awesome. The place is meticulously cared for and had everything that you will need for a great vacation. St. Joseph island was super cool as well and the golf course was perfect. We will be definitely back next year.
St. Joseph Island is located in Northern Ontario's beautiful Algoma Region. It is the second largest island in Lake Huron and has miles of scenic drives to travel by car or bike. While on the island you will want to visit the St. Joseph Island Museum, Adcocks' Woodland Garden, and the Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site. Travelers to the island also enjoy golfing, fishing, hiking and water sports. There are several festivals and live music concerts throughout the year. And just 45 minutes away, the city of Sault Ste. Marie is home to the Agawa Canyon Tour Train with world famous one-day train tours to Agawa Canyon and the Canadian wilderness.
