Had a great time! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place. Lovely lake! We caught a few yellow perch! A very relaxing and enjoyable week!
We had a truly enjoyable experience from the first enquiry to our last departure. The cottage was exactly as pictured and described. Very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked and the porch was perfect for entertaining family members who dropped by to visit. Everyone agreed that we had the best rental on the island. The beach area was small but perfect for children and we enjoyed canoeing and kayaking in the quiet lake. Life jackets were provided. The lake was great for swimming. Correspondence with Karen was easy. Would love to return.
The Sundberg's cabin is a beautiful place that easily accommodated my family of four and my brother's family of four. There was something to do for all the kids who ranged in age from 3 to 17 from the peaceful lake in the back equipped with kayaks to the ping pong table in the basement. The cabin is very clean, has every need provided for, is roomy and very welcoming. We would definitely recommend visiting St. Joseph's island and staying at the Sundberg's cabin.
We have used Homeaway many times and this property by far is one of our favourites. Very cozy cottage and close to everything. The canoes/kayaks were awesome. The place is meticulously cared for and had everything that you will need for a great vacation. St. Joseph island was super cool as well and the golf course was perfect. We will be definitely back next year.
Sundberg's "log cottage" is really a modern home in disguise, and an excellent choice for an easy holiday located on a maple-forested island in a very clean comfortable well-equipped cottage. The location is on Twin Lakes - a quiet inland lake, great for safe canoeing, kayaking, fishing and relaxing. Don't miss historic Fort St. Joe, the maple syrup industry, fresh fish, and a sandy beach for kids nearby across the lake. With dishwasher, laundry, canoe, kayaks, a fully equipped kitchen, several comfy clean beds, it makes for a relaxing quiet holiday, especially on the huge shady deck overlooking the lake. We highly recommend this lovely cottage !
The cottage was as nice, clean and well kept as the pictures showed. It was already stocked with the necessities making it easier to pack lighter. Great location on a very nice quiet lake!! We enjoyed using the kayaks and canoe as well as fishing for perch off of the dock. The ping pong table in the basement is a lot of fun for a rainy day. We would without a doubt stay at this cottage again!!
St. Joseph Island is located in Northern Ontario's beautiful Algoma Region. It is the second largest island in Lake Huron and has miles of scenic drives to travel by car or bike. While on the island you will want to visit the St. Joseph Island Museum, Adcocks' Woodland Garden, and the Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site. Travelers to the island also enjoy golfing, fishing, hiking and water sports. There are several festivals and live music concerts throughout the year. And just 45 minutes away, the city of Sault Ste. Marie is home to the Agawa Canyon Tour Train with world famous one-day train tours to Agawa Canyon and the Canadian wilderness.

We don't charge a cleaning fee up front because we believe it is a good idea to give people the opportunity to save money by leaving the cottage clean and as they found it (except we will wash linens and make the beds). So we have made our $250 security/cleaning deposit fully refundable. However, if the cottage requires excessive cleaning, we will deduct from the deposit accordingly.
One half of rent is due (by check) with the signing of a rental agreement to reserve the time. The balance of the rent and a $250 refundable security and cleaning deposit are due the week before arrival.
