This home is a great place to get away from the rigors of life and enjoy the peace and quiet of the lower keys or get out and partake in all types of water activities. Little Torch is centrally located in the keys but will make you feel like you are miles away.
This is a canal front home, maintained in excellent condition with a new deck all new flooring throughout in summer 2015. The canal is wide enough to dock a 25 foot boat with no problem. You are only 5 homes from the open water on the north side of the island. No bridge to open water. Just minutes away from full service marinas, jet ski rentals, boat ramps, boat rental and fishing.
Canal and surrounding water is great for fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, boating, back country fishing, and canoeing. Full service dive shops are only 3 minutes away. Looe Key is directly off coast with the best snorkeling and dive site in the lower keys.
Grocery, post office, pharmacy, banks are all nearby. Deer key within minutes. If you are looking for other adventures, you can swim with the dolphins 45 minutes away or visit Old Town Key West and see the famous sunset performers only 45 minutes away.
We have lived on the west coast of Florida for over 45 years. We purchased our Little Torch Hidden Gem (one of the first in the community) when our children were young and have been enjoying it ever since. We are retired now and have let our children help us with the maintenance and management of the property.
Vincent Bonnici purchased this mobile home in 1975
The is truly a hidden gem in the lower keys. We have so many fond memories of spending time here and hope that you will build similar memories. You can relax, just sit out back along the canal and enjoy the breeze off the water or plan activities all day long. It is one of the few wide canals in the lower keys.
This home sits in a small, quiet community where you are minutes from backwater fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet-skiing, deep sea fishing and more. Looe Key is a wonderful nearby diving and snorkeling sight.
My family of five stayed for a week and we had a great time. The property was just as advertised and there were no issues. It was clean and everything worked. I hope we get a chance to stay there again.
Just spent the whole month of March here. Had a wonderful time, we were also here last March and would have come back in 2017 but was rented out for several months including March, very disappointed as we love the home and have gotten to know a lot of the neighbors. My sister in law lives just across the canal so it was great floating to her place or her floating to us. Now looking for a place to stay next year. Lots to do, butterfly conservatory in Key West, Hemmingways Home, and of course Mallory Square for sunset ( although I think the sunset was better in little Torch) and stroll Duval St.
We stayed for a month. Wonderful time. The property was just as expected with no surprises It was clean and everything worked. Would highly recommend this to anyone and will return.
We booked this unit for a last-minute trip to the keys. The house was exactly as described. Unfortunately, the Internet service was down the first few days were there, but the owner worked diligently with the Internet company to get it back up by Wednesday.
The house was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. There must've been at least five lasagna pans! The air conditioner, TVs and hot water were all great. We brought our backcountry boat to the keys for the first time and the location for exploring the backcountry was ideal. It's probably only 100 yards down the canal to open water and we used the unusually calm days in March to explore backcountry. We saw a guide in a 31 foot contender heading out, so it is possible to bring a big offshore boat down and stay at this house. The neighbors were very friendly and offered fishing and boating advice.
We usually stay in the Big Pine/Little Torch/Ramrod Key area because everything we need is within a few miles. A Winn-Dixie, Napa auto/boating supply, bait and tackle shops and several Marine dealers on big Pine Key. If you want to really splurge one night, get reservations at Little Palm Island and catch their shuttle for a spectacular dinner if money is no object. If you haven't seen key deer up close, a drive in the key deer preserve on Big Pine Key at dusk is a guarantee to see several deer.
I would definitely consider this house for my next "guys week of hard-core fishing" trip.
My boyfriend and I rented this place in April. Clean, quiet, I think we were the noisy ones lol. Backs right up to the canal. Fished the canal the first night and caught two of the five keepers on our trip. Grateful for the fishing station. Really came in handy. Very quiet area and the neighbors were friendly. The sky is amazing at night. Never seen so many stars. Will definitely be back!!!
Had a wonderful time staying at Little Torch Hidden Gem. Great neighborhood, quiet area, great neighbors, beautiful sunsets and the lagoon was great to just float on your raft. The house was spacious and well maintained with lots of linens, towels and the kitchen was well supplied with dishes and items you need. Close to grocery store, drug store, and even a flea market! Great place!!!
Just a couple miles from Big Pine Key where you can find ATM's, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, movie rentals and more.
