This home is located in a great area of the Mad River Valley. Sunny and huge views! It is well kept with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a 2 car garage. A large mudroom with lots of space for shoes, coats and skis/snowboards. A very well equipped kitchen with a brick stove area. 2 living rooms each with a flat screen tv. There is also a small gym, ping pong table and dart board in the house. Beautiful flower gardens in the summer. The front porch has great views to sit and take in when the weather permits. Both ski areas are just a ten minute ride away. The Skinner Barn and Round Barn, popular wedding locations, are both less than a mile away. Cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, horseback riding, golf, shopping, restaurants, etc just moments away. The scenic Common road, great for walking, just outside the door.
We moved here from NJ in 2001 and have never looked back. We love our home and think you will as well.
Todd Worden purchased this house in 2002
I cannot recommend this property more enthusiastically. It was perfect for a ski weekendThe house is spacious, clean, and conveniently located to both Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Waitsfield's restaurants and shops. The mud room is fantastic and we had plenty of space to store our gear without worrying about getting the house dirty. We had three couples stay in the home comfortably. The layout allowed the couple with children to stay on one side with access to the kitchen while those of us without kids could sleep in and not be disturbed.
The owners were very communicative and welcoming, even leaving us a few treats upon our arrival! We fell in love with the house and the area and hope to be able to return again soon.
My only advice would be to make sure your car can handle driving in snow or mud, since the house is on a dirt road.
Three generations of my family traveled to VT to attend my nephew's wedding and had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful mountain retreat. We could not have chosen a more suitable home to rent for this special event. This home had something for everyone to enjoy--beautiful gardens, mountain views to die for, ping pong and dart board for "competitive fun" and lots of coffee and warm blankets were used while sitting on the porch enjoying the breathtaking sunrise in the morning.
The location was perfect for our needs also. Rehearsal dinner was held up on Mad River mountain (which we could see from the front porch) and the wedding was held at The Round Barn. Both of these venues were within minutes of this home as were grocery stores and gas stations. We also took in the local Farmers Market and Craft Fair in town!
The owners of this property were wonderful to work with when renting this property and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to feel "at home". The coffee drinkers in my family were thrilled and surprised at the selection of K-cups available for consumption!
I would love to return to this beautiful home again if I ever have the opportunity/need to do so!!
Your home was perfect for our groups' annual ski trip. Perfectly accommodating 4 couples quite comfortably. Thanks again for your hospitality and the wine and cheese, a very warm welcome on a cold evening. The location is perfect for skiing on Sugarbush and hiking around Mad River. We are looking forward to visiting your home again next year and once again enjoying your gracious hospitality.
We had a lovely stay at this property over Feb school vacation week. The property was gorgeous and immaculate, best of all it was well laid out for a two-family vacation, with separate "wings" for each family. The property is spacious and we never even ventured into the basement area because the main floor had enough space for the EIGHT of us.
To add even more, Tanya & Todd were the best to work with -- easy going, accommodating, and friendly. This place is simply the best.
Would love to stay at this property again!
My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at this beautiful home. The house has everything one needs to settle in and enjoy it. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the sweeping views of Sugarbush and Camel's Hump. Common Road is scenic with many farms to stop at for farm fresh eggs and honey. Skiing at Sugarbush and hiking in nearby Stowe was fun. Antiquing , yarn shops, country stores, and local brews were a treat. The home was extremely clean , nicely furnished , and had very comfortable beds for sleeping. The two living room areas were great to relax in , the three bathrooms were spotless , and the kitchen and dining room were great gathering spots for dinners and card games.
Thank you Tanya and Todd for sharing your home . We look forward to returning. Jane and John and family.
My family and I stayed at this beautiful mountain/garden home for a long weekend in September. The house was perfect. Todd and Tanya's attention to detail to make our stay enjoyable was beyond our expectations. The setup with a separate wing with living room, gorgeous bath and two bedrooms was ideal for us. We all recommend this lovely home. Can't wait to come back.
