Northeast transplants for 10 years. Love the desert and can assist you in enjoying all that Tucson area has to offer. Owners have a mobile wood fired, brick oven pizza business. Private pizza parties, or gourmet brick oven dinners can be arranged.
Chip Augello purchased this house in 1998
Leave the snow and cold weather behind and enjoy the enchantment of the most lush desert in the world, the Sonoran desert. Our property is a mixture of natural desert landscape and groomed low water use plants. There are walking trails around our lot, with connections to acres of desert and a 'wash'. The area is abundant with native animals. A great bird watching area. Gorgeous sunsets right out the front door.
Breath taking views of the Catalina, Tucson and Tortolita mountains. Very private. Brick oven on request (if available).
Having never been to Tucson, we were not sure how the location would work out but it turns out it couldn't be better. Very convenient, comfortable and private. The owners are fantastic as well. It would be hard to find a better situation in Tucson - well done!
This casita was just perfect for my wife and me for our first ever visit to the Tucson area. It was every bit "as advertised" and more. It is indeed secluded and quit. You would think you were out in the middle of the desert by yourself. But just a few minutes drive takes you to anything you need for shopping, restaurants, etc.
Even though it was just a one bedroom casita, it's openness made it feel like it was much bigger than it was. It has a very "high end" feel and was very well maintained. It is very nicely appointed and equipped with all you need for an extended stay...except for a toaster. There was a nice toaster oven but it is not the best way to make toast. I really liked the living room's HDTV that was a full DirectTV hookup including DVR...something you don't usually get. And there is another HDTV in the bedroom. Speaking of the bedroom...the king sized bed with one of those high quality memory foam mattresses was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. The bathroom was quite luxurious with a huge walk-in shower.
The views out the back into the Catalina Mountains were very nice. Each day provided a different sunrise and sunset experience. Out front you had essentially a whole desert to wonder around in and get up close (but don't get TOO close) and personal with about any kind of cacti you can imagine. And the sunsets from that angle were also spectacular and different most days.
The owners, Chip and Cheryl, were great to work with. I can't imagine there is any better place for an extended visit to the Tucson area.
Everything about this lodging was wonderful. It is private, extremely clean, well furnished and set in a lovely location. The "casita" itself was very spacious and extremely nicely decorated in a Southwestern motif. All the amenities needed are there and in good supply. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio watching the full moon rising over the Catalina Mountains. We very much recommend this for a great get-away in Oro Valley. The only word of advice is that you do need to drive about a half-mile or so of small dirt road to reach this terrific place.
Very cozy, quiet with all the comforts of home. We had a great time and plan on booking next year!😎
The Casita was perfect for our needs...a quiet place to return to after sightseeing or hiking, etc. The location was great for easy access to the places we wanted to visit. You would not want to plan to do a lot of cooking, as the kitchen is quite small, just as described in overview.
All of us loved staying here. The casita had everything we needed. Location was convenient yet very quiet. Would definitely stay there again. Chip, Cheryl and dog Molly were outstanding and enjoyable. Jim and Marcia
Beautiful, new, secluded 776sq. ft. casita on 3.3 gated acres. Local hiking trails outside your door. Situated in northwest Tucson with many upscale restaurants and shopping nearby. 20 miles from the must see Desert Museum. Panoramic mountain views with city lights.
