Absolutely Amazing

  • 5 of 5

I would prefer not to tell everyone how amazing this place is so that it is available during our future trips to AK (stayed July 5-10, married couple). But the owners were extremely hospitable and even checked in to make sure everything was fantastic-which it was. It would be unfair to them not to praise their beautiful home.

The kitchen has everything you need (including for baking, complex dinner meals, or basic Mac and Cheese), the windows have black-out shades for the summer nights, the view is spectacular, and the care/cleanliness of the house was great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view, plenty of chairs. We used the boats to go fishing (rods and lures also included).

We watched TV one night, and it has your standard channels from what we saw. There are a few books for reading. And the wifi worked well. Full washer/dryer.

If I had to list something that was not ideal, then I would mention there was only one bathroom. It was not an issue for us, but with three bedrooms, it could be for large families/groups.

Otherwise, we will stay here again without even shopping around. But you should so you don't take our next booking. 😉

Thank you again to the owners. We loved our stay!

Top of the Alaska Vrbo list this year

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with my son and daughter in law for a week this is my 11th Alaskan Vrbo and the best

The pics don't do it justice the views are spectacular

It has everything

I cooked a full turkey dinner while they went walking on a glacier 50 miles away

An hour to Talketna or less to anchorage. God willing I'll be back next year

Great relaxing lake house!

  • 5 of 5

Its a well located property, 40 miles out of anchorage. Its a three hour drive to Denali National Park. Its also three hour drive to Seward. I'd recommend this rental to anyone. Bruce was really helpful, he gave us some good ideas of things to do while in Alaska. The property was clean, and everything was as listed.

Wonderful lake house

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home in a serene setting. The views are amazing, and the cabin has everything you need to make this your home-away-from-home while visiting the Wasilla area. The location is perfect: away from town, but convenient to all area attractions. The beds were extremely comfortable. Bruce is a fantastic host, who was always quick to respond to any questions we had. My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer.

loved staying here

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandson stayed in this cabin for a week while we were in Alaska to attend our son's wedding. This cabin was a wonderful retreat for us. Such a beautiful peaceful place to stay, yet so accessible to everything you need. Thank you for making the boats available to us too. Thanks much!

A piece of heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I came up to Alaska from Florida for a 2 week vacation July 2014. I was stationed in Alaska years ago, but left in 2002 when my children were 2 years old. I was looking forward to showing them their birthplace. After spending a wonderful day on Elmendorf Air Force Base (now JBER) arriving at the cabin and staying here for 4 days did not disappoint.

Bruce was there when we pulled up and was a wonderful host making suggestions for places to explore. This cabin is *amazing*. Perfectly peaceful setting, but a close car ride to the grocery store when you need it. I warn you, you may not want to leave.

We went to a museum, hiking at Independence mine and kayaking on Wasilla lake nearby. The paddle-boat was well loved during our stay.

The cabin is very clean, well maintained, roomy and comfortable with everything you could ever need while you are here. The views from the patio are out of this world. Nothing was photo shopped. It's the real deal!!

I highly recommend this cabin! I hope and pray that we will get back to Alaska in the future to stay once again in this Wasilla pearl!!
