This amazing duplex is located in the heart of Portland's most unique neighborhoods. Alberta Arts District always has something unbelievable to look at (people riding bikes while juggling), amazing restaurants to eat at (home to Portland's culinary creativity), fun pubs to have a drink (locally brewed beers won't disappoint), and loads of independent stores to purchase gifts at (adorable dresses, funky jewelry, await you). The best part is the house is in the heart of the area. It's the location you hope to get when book a vacation rental. Walking distance to all on Alberta Street. 15 minutes by car from the airport, 10 minutes by car to the heart of the city. The bus stop is a block away and there is also free street parking around the house.

Our typical rental period is 5 night min, especially over the weekend and in high season (May - Sept & Holidays). We do accept shorter stays, as they work with the calendar so feel free to ask.

High Gear (the upper level of the duplex) has 4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. An open living, dining, and kitchen area. The first floor houses 3 of the bedrooms. 2 with queen beds and the third with a bunk bed (double lower and twin above). The first floor also has a full bath with walk in shower. The second floor houses a fourth bedroom, loft area with futon and skylights, and a gorgeous full bathroom.

The kitchen is fully stocked from coffee grinder to microwave oven to blender. You will be able to cook up a feast and eat in comfort at the wood dining table adorned with beautiful dishes.

One major perk about renting this house is the coupons our lovely neighbors have shared for our guests. Frock Boutique, Tin Shed, Digs Inside and Out, Mimosa Studios, I Am Yoga Bikram Studio, The Wax Skin Spa, Crafty Wonderland & more....You get discounts to all these wonderful places! So eat, drink and shop- all a stroll away and all at a discounted price!

The side yard boasts the coolest kids hive play structure, teeter tooter, picnic table and yard games. In the nice weather its a perfect spot to enjoy a meal or let the kids run free!

The house had been newly gutted and remodeled using sustainable and local materials, and has inspiring touches throughout the house. It promises to be one of the best vacation rentals in all of Portland.

The location couldn't be any better. It sits in the heart of Alberta Arts District and this Portland neighborhood encompasses all the amazing features that makes Portland- Portland. Reclaimed materials bring a history and story to the house that make it really special. There is thoughtfulness with all of the details from the paint colors to the lighting all of the items were specifically chosen to make the house beautiful and different.

What makes this house unique

I think our rental has many unique areas- from a large side yard filled with interesting kids structures to corn hole which is a game that friends can play and enjoy for hours. Inside the house has bike themed interiors from hanging tricycle lights to handle bar coat racks. We wanted the house to be comfortable for guests, so details such as reading lights above the beds were put in every room. We hope you love your stay!

Just spent a weekend in Portland and found this lovely rental house to stay at. Located in the Alberta arts district it was close to a lot of nice shops and great eats. Only a short bike from downtown, it was also easy to get to other parts of Portland.



My friends and I (9 total) fit nicely in the high gear which is the upper level of the house. The house was absolutely beautiful, modern and Eco-friendly. The owner left us maps, coupons, and suggestions to nearby places which really helped our trip planning. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return again.

Perfect place for a family get-together

Grandparents from Canada visited daughter and family with children aged 6,5, & 3. The house was perfect. Grandparents stayed upstairs with large bedroom and very modern bathroom. Family stayed on the main floor; kids especially liked the bunk beds. The kitchen was very well supplied, the table sat 8 persons, and everything was very clean.

The location is very good; across the street from a very good coffee shop with fresh baking daily. One block away is an excellent co-operative grocery store with mostly organic products. There are many eateries nearby although we ate in most meals.

It was easy to get to attractions like the children's Expo. There was a 24 hour gas station nearby and it was was 10- 15 minutes from the airport.

We have been to Portland many times and this was by far the nicest house we have rented. We will definitely go here again on future visits to see the grandchildren.

We cannot blame our hosts for the rain that came every day.

Fresh, cozy & charming house for a group, in a fabulous neighborhood of yummy restaurants & shops

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday staying in High Gear! The house was spotless and bright, and decorated with lovely details. All the bedrooms were unique and comfortable and set up for a great night rest! The open living area is perfect for relaxed socializing, and it was great having space to all sit down together for breakfast and dessert at the big dining table. Our group had ambitions of cooking in the well appointed kitchen, but quickly discovered the numerous delicious food options moments from the doorstep, ranging from tasty street vendors to sushi with sake tasting. Also amazing coffee right across the street, and, the house favorite....fresh PIE shop!!! Our group of hungry cyclists brought home 4 spectacular pies from down the street - same shop has wonderful breakfast sandwiches. Visit the ice cream shop a couple blocks east to compliment the pie!

We had driven from Canada for the trip, so we had one vehicle with us. It was easy to find side street parking directly across the street. The location was super easy to navigate on and off the hwy, and getting downtown was very quick. We also had our CX bikes with us, and enjoyed sightseeing throughout the city on two wheels. Amazing old neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and great bike lanes and biking signage. Overall this was a wonderful experience, a fabulous house, and a fantastic neighborhood!!!

Fabulous location and experience

Perfect house for a family gathering. Spacious with delightful touches, walking distance to great food. Tin shed is a breakfast must. Very convenient to downtown. Highly recommend this rental.

Is simply perfect. The house sits in the heart of Alberta Street, Portland's most vibrant funky neighborhood. You can walk to a multitude of restaurants, bars, and stores. Inner NE Portland is centrally located so visiting other neighborhoods or going downtown is a few minutes drive. The house is 15 minutes from the airport. There is plenty of free parking on the street. The bus stop is 2 blocks from the house making public transport a breeze.
