After a year and a half long search, I was introduced to the brand new Honua Kai Resort in Kaanapali! Although I live on the Mainland, I was befriended by some very special Maui residents who were instrumental in helping me with my condo purchase and setting up this vacation rental - the best realtor on Maui and the best property manager on the Island! (Please call me for their information).
We chose Honua Kai because of its beachfront location, its contemporary yet traditional 'Hawaiian' ambiance and the wonderful amenities available at the Resort. The location could not be better~ Kaanapali, Napili, Kapalua and Lahaina close by for wonderful outings. Honua Kai is truly paradise here and we know you will enjoy our Island retreat as much as we do.
Immaculate property in a lovely setting, great pools for kids, unit was very well appointed and in excellent condition. Friendly customer service from Jill and her team, we had prompt responses to all inquiries.

The room and view is fabulous! Jill did an awesome job of having everything that you might need in Kitchen, Bath and a Beach Closet well stocked with lawn chairs , cooler , sand castle supplies , even hats if you forgot to pack yours and a Beach Umbrella! The bed is luxurious and the furnishings are beautiful . Mahalo Jill ! You are a fabulous Hostess , I enjoys my stay so much it was hard to say goodby to the room and your beautiful Island ! We are hoping to start planning for the next trip soon and I would very mush like to borrow your lovely home again ! Until then Aloha and Mahalo

We had a very enjoyable time staying in the property. It was very well managed. Any questions were promptly responded to, which can always be a concern, so that was wonderful. Beautiful unit, building, and landscaping. Excellent beach access. We could literally be ON the beach in less than a few minutes from our rental unit. Parking can be a bit tight in the underground parking area, but we always found a spot available when we parked.
The Times supermarket across the street is REALLY convenient and is walkable, but beware crossing the street and wear running shoes if the cross traffic is heavy. They use only paper bags in supermarkets in Maui, so you may want to bring your own plastic bags or reusable bags with you. Tip: Try the Sterling Silver brand beef at the Times market! It's the best ever, and cheap! The other groceries are very expensive, even the local fruit, which was unexpected.
I loved the resort's flowers, the plants, the local frogs, the beach access, the super-friendly valets (they know everything about the area, so ask questions!) and the lanai. Opening the doors in the morning and stepping out into that island air in the morning was wonderful! Funny stray cats all over the resort and Maui in general. They seemed as relaxed as I was!
Everything we needed, other than food, was already stocked in the unit, which was great. There were some condiments in the fridge that we used as well. For rental snorkel gear, use Snorkel Bob's, which has many locations, including across the street by the Times supermarket. You can return your rental gear at ANY Snorkel Bob's location, even on other islands!
I would absolutely stay in this unit again. Everything functioned well, and the excellent management made a big difference! I attest that the other positive reviews for this unit are indeed accurate.
The hardest thing about the trip (we were there seven nights) was forcing myself to leave paradise! That was very, very hard.
