About Andrea & Tim
We are a family of 5 that loves London and fell in love with the Royal Arsenal Riverside and its rich history. We have lived and worked in London but have also spent time living and working abroad as both children and adults. We enjoy sharing our home with guests from all over the world--many from countries in which we have lived. Along with helping fellow Brits enjoy their Capital City or attend special events and family gatherings.
Andrea & Tim purchased this Apartment in 2010
Why Andrea & Tim chose Woolwich
The Royal Arsenal provides the unique experience of living a modern life in surroundings where the entire history of the United Kingdom has evolved...and much of the world! The view and ambiance created by the flat's positioning, outlook and period features makes staying here a one-of-a-kind experience. You can stay in a 'new build' anywhere but no other location in London affords the opportunity to stay in a building/development that influenced the history of the world in such a profound way. For example, as mentioned in the American national anthem, 'the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air' came from the Royal Arsenal--examples of which are on display at the Greenwich Heritage Centre onsite. This property is spacious and perfect for families (groups) ---particularly those with 3 or more kids, like ourselves. We believe families and friends should be able to holiday together. In addition, its location in the Royal Arsenal itself is unique. It's the type of place that makes you want to just stay 'home', play games and watch movies together. My husband and I love to sit at the kitchen table in the morning with the sun streaming in and read the paper while looking out over the courtyard and the amazing history that surrounds us. There is enough room for the kids to play Twister, watch movies or retreat to their own spaces with their electronic devices. Grocery stores, Dial Arch Pub, Boulangerie Jade, Con Gusto, Taproom & Hopstuff Brewery, Greenwich Heritage Centre, Thames River Walk, Woolwich Town Centre and Community Swimming Pool are just out the gate and a stone's throw away. The travel links are superb to ANYWHERE in London (DLR/Tube, Train, Thames Clipper, London City Airport, Bus & Very soon with CrossRail-Elizabeth Line/Underground we will be minutes from Heathrow & Oxford St. -- more options and convenience than any other location in London. And nothing in London beats a friendly and authentic East End welcome!
What makes this Apartment unique
One-of-a-kind experience and location with so many transport options to hand. Our view of the Thames and historic Royal Arsenal buildings, our location within the heritage quarter and gated 'golden square,' and the ambiance, spaciousness and period features of the flat are unique within both the Royal Arsenal and London. It is also so easy and comfortable to get anywhere in London whether Central, East, West, North or South utilizing: the Thames Clipper, Train, DLR/Tube & CrossRail-Elizabeth Line/Underground. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable is either in the flat or can be easily obtained within the Royal Arsenal, or in the shopping precinct just across the road from the Royal Arsenal Development. There are six pubs/restaurants/cafes in the Royal Arsenal and three supermarkets: Marks & Spencer Food Hall, Sainsbury's Local & Tesco's Express with many more options across the street in Woolwich Centre.

Fantastic property set in the grounds of the Royal Arsenal.
Everything the owners say it is and more.
By far the best, of 6 places, we stayed at on our month long European trip.
I was concerned about the distance in to The City however the property is served by the Thames Clipper, a fast ferry into the centre of London and only 5 minutes walk to the pier.
The Docklands Light Railway is an easy 10 minute walk away. The DLR links up with underground system providing easy access to all Major destinations.
Communication with Andrea was fast and very informative.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful property Tim and Andrea.
Traveling with students
This was our second stay and it has been great. The owners and manager are super responsive, the location is great, the apartment is lovely and comfortable.
Very nice flat and area. Everything as described and expected.
Nice area. Nice, well equipped flat. Everything as expected. Would recommend. Good communications with owner.
Beautiful home with every amenity!
This home was perfect for our family of 5. The kitchen, sleeping accommodations, and living space were fabulous. The big ships happened to be at the docks when we were staying, and there were even fireworks. We used the Thames Clippers for transportation, which was very convenient and pleasant, with a Family River Roamer ticket purchased online ahead of time (it must be printed). It was ideal for getting to the Tower of London and Westminster. They have a limited schedule, and sometimes required switching boats to reach Royal Arsenal, but we planned ahead for this and enjoyed leisurely trips on the river. We have great memories of our time in London!
Exhibition at Excel
Three of us shared the apartment as we were attending an exhibition at Excel. The surrounding area is beautiful and ideal to relax in following some very long days. The apartment is comfortable clean and has enough space so that your not tripping over each other. The facilities near by are excellent with a couple of gyms, pubs and a Tesco express all within a genuine 5 minute walk, as well as the DLR station which can give you access into Bank (35-40mins). This place was great value for money and worth considering on any trip into London, the only minor issue is the parking (parking spaces are not clearly defined) but in all honesty this is no different to the rest of London and surrounding areas.
Awesome home away from home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment. After spending our days in the city, it was so nice to come home to such a peaceful and quiet place as the Royal Arsenal. As noted in the description, it takes 35-45 minutes to get into London Central via public transportation. For us (2 adults & 2 teenagers), the commute was part of the whole experience. Andrea was extremely helpful every step of the way and responded very quickly to any questions or concerns we had. We highly recommend this rental!
Thank you so much for your kind review and direct message. I am sharing an excerpt from the latter for future guests -- “We had a WONDERFUL time in London -- one of our best vacations ever! Your home was perfect for our family. Our 2 teenage sons loved it and even appreciated the commuting aspect of the trip. They felt like they got a real "taste" of what people do every day." As a former international education and exchange director and the mother of three (2 teens), I was heartened that your teenagers appreciated the opportunity to experience real London life surrounded by so much British History. Next time (from December 2018 on) the Elizabeth Line-CrossRail (Purple on the Tube Map) will be up and running from within the Royal Arsenal and you will be able to get direct to Oxford Street/Theatreland in 19 minutes and to Heathrow in 48 minutes, connecting for other destinations along the way. Plus, you will still have the DLR (Aqua on the Tube Map), Thames Clipper and Train with their sight-seeing opportunities above ground and direct connections to so many famous and favourite London landmarks/destinations. We look forward to welcoming you back!
